Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

The founder of Match.com lost his girlfriend to a man she met on Match.com. It may seem like another one of the darkly funny facts โ€“ but when his girlfriend left him for a man she met on his site, Gary Kremen didnโ€™t even break a sweat. According to Match.com founder, Kremen knew his project was successful when his own girlfriend left him for another man through Match.com. Source: Funny Facts

  1. Suzana says:

I did not know anything about the story behind the site.
But it’s a clever thing to find the good part from any bad situation!
    I love this idea. Sometimes it’s a life savior…
Happy WW, dear Sandee! All the best in Summer! Hugs and joy!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜˜

  2. Pam and Teddy says:

I think these sites serve a purpose BUT I’m not sure I would be brave enough to use them…..although there’s no “foolproof/guaranteed” match up in the world I suppose. I met my husband on a blind date!

    Hugs, Pam

    • Sandee says:

There are no guarantees with anything for sure. If I were single I would not go online to find a mate. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to handsome Teddy. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Ann Thompson says:

Well isn’t that interesting. A strange way to measure his success but if it worked for him why not. I wonder if he used his site to find himself a new girlfriend.

    • Sandee says:

I don’t know, but I found this most sad. Happy day and rest of the week, Ann. A hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. CAAC says:

I wouldn’t ever feel comfortable using an online dating site and I pray that I never, ever have to! Interesting factoid and outlook by the founder.

  5. Betty says:

Interesting fact about the founder and his girlfriend. But if he didn’t even break a sweat when she left… maybe it’s for the best for all involved.

  6. Alana says:

That’s a harsh proof of concept but he didn’t even break a sweat? No wonder she left! I know online dating apps are popular and I know a couple, married about 15 years with three children who met using one, but I don’t know if it would be for me.

    • Sandee says:

I’ve never used it either and if I were single I would either. Happy day and rest of the week, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Suzette Benjamin says:

What a profound example of making lemonade from what life throws one’s way. Thank you, Sandee.

Sometimes, perhaps, the things that seem negative in life work out for one’s good. Great presentation, Sandee. Thank you, dear friend.

And a wonderful Wordless Wednesday to you. Much love and hugs.

  8. Mr. Ohh! says:

Well I read somewhere that a third of the folks using those sites are married. It’s sad, but if this guy didn’t flinch he was probably surfing the site as well as his girlfriend. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ™ƒ

  9. DrillerAA says:

Sadly, this speaks volumes about the lack of commitment in our society. Why was she dating Kremen and scrolling on Match.com at the same time. She has proven that she can’t be trusted in a relationship. If she will cheat on you when dating, she will certainly cheat on you in marriage. Run brother, run!!!

    • Sandee says:

I hear you. I don’t think I would do an online dating site if I were single. Happy day and rest of the week, my friend. Double Pawkisses to Peachy and Faye. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Pat says:

I enjoy your weekly facts, Sandee. This one was ironic. I guess the Match guy knew where he could also easily find a “replacement” mate after losing his!
I am definitely a rule breaker fro “wordless wednesday” but someday I just might slip in a wordless post. ;D

    • Sandee says:

I’m with you on this, but I found it ironic he lost his girlfriend on his own site. Sad. Happy WW and rest of the week. Thank you for all you do. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Kitties Blue says:

We guess if Kremen’s girlfriend joined, she couldn’t have been that happy in her relationship with him! Thanks for linking us up. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali

  12. Debra @ Life Captured says:

Sandee, it’s showing that I added two links- 49 and 50. However, Both are the same. I must have double clicked.
Thank you for entertaining us this week!

I deleted the last one. It’s easy to do more than one link. You’re most welcome and thanks for playing along. I loved your post. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐Ÿ™‚

He must have gotten something right! Thanks for hosting. You and Mr. Zane have a great rest of your week, scritches to the kitties from me.

  14. Peabea says:

Guess he had to see it as a glass half full and proof of the pudding as they say, but that pudding thing, I don’t think I understand. lol I’ve never proofed pudding when making so maybe I’ve been doing things wrong. Love your site and your bits of info. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Sandee says:

You made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that. Love that you’re playing along. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐Ÿ™‚

OMG!!! How bizarre!!! Well, the moral of the story is, don’t create a dating app! MOL Thank mew so much for adding our links, we are slowly getting back up to speed after the internet glitch the other week! Wishing mew a supurr weekend! ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ป

  17. Dorothy/FiveSibes says:

Your broken heart image caught my attention – the writer in me starting spinning yarns about broken hearts, then I read your tidbit of info and said, Whoa, no way! I’m glad he didn’t miss a beat (I think) and knew his Match.com was a success…but, what a way to find out! Thanks for the trivia! Hope you all have a great week!

    • Sandee says:

It’s still a very popular site. I don’t think they were that into each other. Have a great day and week. Scritches to the pups. ๐Ÿ™‚
