Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

The CIA isnโ€™t legally allowed to monitor US citizens. When the agency was formed in 1947, President Truman ensured that it was stated clearly that the agency couldnโ€™t operate on US soil.

However, you must know that despite this law, the CIA has been caught several times spying on Americans under the guise of fighting terrorism. And besides, the NSA is monitoring everything you do anyway. Source: The Fact Site

It’s good to know what different agencies are doing or doing what they aren’t supposed to do. Happy rest of the week, Chica. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Sandee says:

I’m not surprised either. I remember my dad saying years and years ago that we would be frightened half to death if we knew all the things our government does. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Mr. Ohh! says:

I don’t know about the CIA but we’re giving out all our information to everyone everytime we go online. And they’re legally allowed to take and use it. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ™ƒ

  3. Suzana says:

I wonder who is so naive to believe what they are saying…
Happy WW, dear Sandee! A fine week ahead!

I’m not and know we’re being watched and listened to by many agencies. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Suzana. Love and hugs. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Debbie D. says:

No surprise there! ๐Ÿ˜† It is a spy agency. We are enjoying the new CIA TV series, starring Tom Ellis of Lucifer fame. Happy Wednesday, Sandee! Thanks for hosting WW. ๐ŸŒน

    • Sandee says:

I’ll check that show out. Sounds like a good show to watch. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Debbie. You’re most welcome for my hosting. I love doing my three hops. Hugs. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Kitties Blue says:

Very few citizens in the USA fly under the radar and end up not being monitored by some agency. Orwellโ€™s โ€œ1984โ€ didnโ€™t arrive as predicted, but it is definitely here now. You’re right it’s here now. It’s been going on for a very long time, but now we know about it. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and a big hug to you. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Suzette Benjamin says:

Great information, Sandee. I have seen a few TV shows about this agency, but I did not know it went that far back to 1947! Thank you for the always interesting information.
Happy Wordless Wednesday. Much peace to you, dear friend.

    • Sandee says:

I didn’t either and found it interesting it went back that far. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Love and hugs to you my wonderful friend. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Sandee says:

No doubt in my mind. It’s the way of things. They have been doing it for years and years, but now we know about it. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs to you and Kit and lots of scritches to the kitties. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Pat says:

I never knew this fact about the CIA! So interesting. I guess rules change depending on circumstances of national security.

  8. messymimi's meanderings says:

You gotta know, if they are spies, they’re gonna do whatever they think they need to. This just goes to show, behave yourself and then it doesn’t matter what they know about you, it’s not bad! Never do anything you’d be ashamed to have mentioned aloud at your funeral.

You and Mr. Zane have a blessed rest of your week. Give those two fuzzy overlords each an extra treat from me, please.

  9. Veronica Lee says:

    Interesting info, Sandee! ๐Ÿ“š
Itโ€™s always eyeโ€‘opening to read about how these agencies were meant to operate versus what happens in practice.
Thanks for sharing such a thoughtโ€‘provoking tidbit for Wordless Wednesday! ๐ŸŒผ

  10. Dorothy/FiveSibes says:

Unfortunately, I think with all the new and even newer gadgets and gizmos we have now, it makes it very easy for having no real privacy anymore, anywhere. Monitoring can be a good thing, and a not-so-good thing. Let’s hope it truly used for the former and to crack down on the horrific world terror happenings. Thanks for hosting the WW blog hop, Sandee!

  11. Peabea says:

They probably just say “Nothing to see there”. Pretty much the phone, the TV and most things we use in today’s world. I always ask Alexa if she’s listening when I’m not even talking to her, but she denies it. hahaha
    Happy Wednesday ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Melissa says:

Ha! I just wrote a post about our digital footprints and data collecting. We’ve truly made it so easy for the CIA and anyone else inclined to know what we’re up by blasting it out ourselves. I’m so over it all but am not quite ready to throw the towel in…plus this online world of ours can be pretty cool, too!

  13. Tails Around the Ranch says:

I have mixed feelings about all spy agencies, especially in these current turbulent times. It’s a bit unsettling but I think transparency is particularly necessary. Thanks for shedding a light on this topic.

    • Sandee says:

It’s always been this way with spy agencies, but now it’s out of the bag and we know about what they do. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Wilson. ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. ghostmmnc says:

I don’t like the thought of being spied on either visually or on our computers or phones, but I think it is happening. … and on that thought … I wish that your day has been a good one <3

  15. Smudge says:

Yep, big brother and all that. And don’t get dad started on what today’s government is vs. what it used to (should) be. The job dad just left included about 15 cameras around the property, so privacy wasn’t even a thing if you ask me.

    • Sandee says:

The government is the same as it’s been for a long time. One side is against the other when they are in power and then the other side is against the other when they are in power. It’s been this way for a very long time. ๐Ÿ™‚
