Spring
Spring and “springtime” refer to the season, and also to ideas of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth. Subtropical and tropical areas have climates better described in terms of other seasons, e.g. dry or wet, monsoonal or cyclonic. Cultures may have local names for seasons which have little equivalence to the terms originating in Europe.
In the United States and United Kingdom, spring months are March, April, and May.
In Ireland, following the Irish calendar, spring is often defined as February, March, and April.
In Sweden, meteorologists define the beginning of spring as the first occasion on which the average 24 hours temperature exceeds zero degrees Celsius for seven consecutive days, thus the date varies with latitude and elevation (but no earlier than 15 February, and no later than 31 July).
In Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Brazil the spring months are September, October, and November. Source: Wikipedia
Linking up with a bunch of fantastic peeps from the blogosphere who host Wordless Wednesday โ Betty, Keith, Senior Salon, Esme Salon, CatSynth, and Suzana.

What a lovely spring image! We’re not there yet and it’s very dreary around here, so thanks! ๐ Interesting that Ireland and Sweden define spring differently.
Thanks for hosting the Wordless Wednesday link party, Sandee! ๐
I didn’t know that either. I’m more of a fair weather kind of gal. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Debbie. Love and hugs. ๐
I did not know about this idea. May I say that Spring is all the time, somewhere in the world.
Lovely thought!
Thank you, dear Sandee! Happy WW with love and hugs!โค๏ธ๐
It appears that is true. Love and hugs to you, my dear friend. ๐
That is a lovely wildflower meadow. Spring has arrived at last, sunny days up to Sunday and no sign of rain. Temperature is even set to reach 62 today!
Enjoy spring. I know you will. The world comes alive in spring. Thanks for linking up. Love and hugs, Jackie. ๐
Love the flowers and info…merci for lifting our spirits.
You’re most welcome. Happy day and rest of the week. ๐
How beautiful! We haven’t seen a lot of signs of Spring but the forsythia is blooming and there are buds on the trees…..we’re taking “baby steps” to get to Spring here.
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
Once spring takes hold it’s a beautiful ride. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Teddy. ๐
I was shocked when I first started blogging and became friends with Diane in Austrailia, and Sonja in Pourtugal, because I had no idea the Christmas in Austrailia is in summertime, and all the things you put here were news to me back then, my view of our planet has changed drastically since the internet
I love doing these little tidbits of information. I’m glad you enjoy them too. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to handsome Beau. ๐
A lovely picture, Sandee. Spring has definately sprung here in the south of the UK, crocuses, dafs, snowdrops, celandines, primroses…..nice!
Very nice. I love spring. It’s my favorite of all the seasons. ๐
Mom can’t wait to see beautiful spring flowers!
Everyone seems to love the arrival of spring. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Duke. ๐
What a pretty picture. Looks way better than the snow covered ground we have here again. Spring is bound to arrive in Pennsylvania sooner or later.
I know how you love spring. We love it here too. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Gibbs. ๐
Beautiful scene, Sandee. Our spring came and went. Hopefully, next week spring will be here to stay. Happy Wednesday. Hugs!
We’re into summer right now too. Won’t last long, but it was 90 degrees here yesterday. Going to be the same today. Love and hugs. ๐
Wow! The weather is crazy! โฃ๏ธ
Such beautiful spring flowers! We are thrilled to have come home to a bunch of snow but it will be melting fast starting today.
I know how you love winter and the snow. My granddaughter loves the cold weather too. Scritches to the pups. ๐
Spring doesn’t obey the calendar here, either. Guess we need our own interpretation. It’s about 15F here right now and I wish spring would hurry up. It won’t. Alana ramblinwitham
I hate it when winter won’t let go. I hope spring shows up for you soon. ๐
Have a beautiful day.

You have a beautiful day, too Regine. ๐
Very interesting. I did not know some areas thought of February as spring. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
We do here. We see the signs of spring in the first part of February. Happy day and rest of the week, Ellen. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. ๐
I’d hate to live in Sweden if it doesn’t get over freezing for 10 consecutive days until the end of July!
I’m with you on that. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to you. ๐
IT’s in the 20’s still at night…we have a wait still…
One day you’ll wake up and spring will have arrived. Happy day and rest of the week. ๐
Spring doesn’t visit Florida. We go right to Summer.
I do know that. I was there in early February once and it was HOT. Tons of folks on the beach in Miami. ๐
Look at those wiley Swedes! How intriguing.
I didn’t know about Sweden. I don’t think I would care for their weather. ๐
Itโs great in the summer but I think the winterโs are probably brutal! ๐
This year Spring seems to be a state of mind…it’s been warming up here since the middle of February. Crazy!
Same here. We get blossoms on many trees here in February. Love spring. Scritches to the pups. ๐
This is fascinating information.
I’d move to a location with a more temperate climate, but the idea of moving…ugh!
We have more good weather than not here. Our winters are very short and no snow. ๐
Such a beautiful scene and hooray for Spring!
Hooray for spring, indeed. We’re all ready for some warmth. Scritches to the kitties. ๐
Lovely image. I was thinking about Sweden. Spring could start in the middle of July. ๐คฃ๐๐
That would be weird indeed. What summer lasts for two weeks? Happy day and rest of the week. ๐
We’re still waiting for Spring to arrive.
It will show up when it’s ready. Soon I hope. ๐
Beautiful blooms. Just when spring showed up in NW Arkansas and all the trees and flowers bloomed, winter returned for a couple of days with temps in the twenties and windchill in single digits. So much for spring. On to summer.
Winter and spring fight with each other. Pretty soon spring will win. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, my friend. Scritches to Miss Lucy. ๐
I love you Spring Time Trophy Bride. Your Loving Husband.
I love being your trophy bridge, but I can’t see it. Love you my Wonderful Husband. ๐
Lovely ‘Spring photo and info too ‘~
hugs and love, carol and ziggy ~ an artist reflects
Spring is such a magical time. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. ๐
Beautiful Spring photo. I’m so ready for Spring to come and stay. Interesting to read about the different times of year for the Spring season in other areas/countries. Have a happy week ahead.
After winter most of us are ready for some warm weather and the world coming alive. ๐
Excited for the arrival of spring, and I’m even enjoying our “hot” weather this week (not as hot where I am compared to where you are).
I’m only and hour and 15 minutes from the city. Modesto area. It was 90 degrees here yesterday. It was HOT. ๐
I love Spring. It’s like a reward for making it through Winter. I grew up with only two seasons dry and wet until I immigrated. I love the change in seasons (four).
Thank you for the great information, Sandee. Always a pleasure to learn new things.
Happy Wordless Wednesday too. Much love and hugs to you, dear friend.
I love all four seasons too. There’s beauty in each season. Love and hugs, my Sweet Friend. ๐
Thank you, Sandee, for the weekly linkup party. Happy #WW.
Here in BC, Canada, we have March to May for Spring, and although we still have lots and lots of rain coming down at present, I love it.
My entries: #45+46
Hope you will join ES #WW https://esmesalon.com/wordlesswednesday/ NOW OPEN
You’re most welcome for the hosting. We need more rain here in Central California. We’re hoping April showers will happen. Yesterday it was 90 degrees here. ๐
I have a friend in Dubbo, Australia…I believe March is when their fall starts.. It still blows my feeble mind that Christmas downunder is hot as blue blazes and July is very chilly
Hugs cecilia
I hear you and feel the same. Seems weird to have Christmas in the summertime. I’m sure if we lived down under we would find it normal. Love and hugs to you and Kit and scritches to the kitties. ๐
Happy Wednesday!I live at high altitude in the Colorado foothills, and spring usually arrives in late May. March is usually our snowiest month. This year the weather has been unusual however–very warm and dry.
It’s fun to see what weather others have this time of year. Spring has come and gone here. We’re in a heatwave already. Thanks for joining in. ๐
Beautiful! I love spring. It’s always summer here in Florida, although the last two days it’s been rainy and dreary. Spring pics always cheer me up. Have a great Wednesday and rest of the week!
We have four seasons here, but I could do without winter. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week, Yvonne. Hugs. ๐
Pretty photo, and I really enjoyed reading about spring. We don’t get much of a spring on the Gulf Coast.
It’s my favorite season. Everything comes alive. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐
Spring is a delight, isn’t it. We have blooms everywhere (and allergy season, but that’s not the fault of the blooms).
Thanks for taking out my accidental second link. I’m so busy these last few days I don’t know if I’m coming or going.
You and Mr. Zane have a blessed rest of your week, and scritches to Lil’ Bit and Squeaker from me, okay?
Spring is a delight and it’s my favorite of the seasons. You’re welcome on the removal of the second link. I monitor the links to make sure there aren’t any duplicates and that the hop post is there, not just the IRL of the site.
You and Mr. Sweetie have a blessed rest of the week, too. I’ll give the kitties your scritches. Love and hugs. ๐
I didnโt realize how differently spring is defined around the world–so interesting.
Thanks for keeping Wordless Wednesday such a welcoming place, Sandee.
Thank you my friend. It’s my pleasure. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Veronica. ๐
What a beautiful photo. We are definitely ready for the arrival of spring. ๐
Happy Wordless Wednesday, dear Sandee!
Yes we are. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, my friend. ๐
So beautiful flowers…Glad to read.
Thanks a lot for your post. Greetings
Thanks for linking up, my friend. Happy rest of the week. ๐
That was fun. Mom learned something about spring in other countries. She would not like to wait until July 31 for it to arrive. We are going to have another of those 30 degree daily difference from tomorrow to Saturday. The is a gorgeous photo. Thanks so much for linking us up. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
I did too. I hadn’t thought of other places and I wouldn’t want to wait until July for spring. We’re in a heat wave right now. This is the third day with 90 degree weather. Way to early. Love and hugs. ๐
Wow ! that’s a beautiful pictures ! We have real warm spring weather here in Belgium (how long ??)
We’ve been in a heatwave that will end today. I’m happy about that. The temps in the 90s this early isn’t fun at all. Scritches to Rosie. ๐
So pretty! Seeing a little more colour outside, especially some daffodils, always makes me feel like spring is starting and things just feel that bit better, don’t they?
I’m late with this so Happy Thursday! I hope the week is treating you kindly ๐ป
Caz xx
Spring is my favorite of all the seasons. Everything is fine here. I hope all is well in your world, Caz. Hugs. ๐
Such a gorgeous image and super interesting information on Spring. Thanks my dearest, Sandee. ๐
In parts of India, and where I live- North India; we have Spring from February to March. This year was weird. By second week of March it was super hot, we had to switch on Air conditioning. And then boom, this entire week, it’s been rainy, windy and cold. We had packed off all our winter wear and brought out our summer wear, but it’s time to reverse back, LOL; though we know this will last for some days only.
Not complaining at all as it’s cooler and before the weather gets sweltering hot, we can enjoy a bit more of the so called “spring with rains”!
You are a doll, and thank you for always rooting for me. Love you loads and loads.
Big kisses.
Happy weekend and Spring Equinox, which is today. ๐
We’ve had our air conditioner on the last three days. I hate it when it’s 90 degrees so early. I love the 80s and would be happy with that year around.
You’re a wonderful blogging buddy, Sweet Natasha. Love and hugs my precious friend. โฅ
