Schindler’s List
Schindler’s List is a 1993 American epic historical drama film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg and written by Steven Zaillian. It is based on the 1982 novel Schindler’s Ark by Thomas Keneally. The film follows Oskar Schindler, a German industrialist who saved more than a thousand mostly PolishโJewish refugees from the Holocaust by employing them in his factories during World War II. It stars Liam Neeson as Schindler, Ralph Fiennes as SS officer Amon Gรถth, and Ben Kingsley as Schindler’s Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern.
Principal photography took place in Krakรณw, Poland, over 72 days in 1993. Spielberg shot in black-and-white and approached the film as a documentary. Cinematographer Janusz Kamiลski wanted to create a sense of timelessness. John Williams composed the score, and violinist Itzhak Perlman performed the main theme. Source: Wikipedia

Dearest Sandee,
Pieter was a fervent reader and he also was so interested in the WWII era as he lived through that horror and it impacted his life on a large scale.
Important history to be told!
Hugs,
Mariette + Kitties

Guess what quick dial McGraw aka me won tickets to see that movie back when it first came out.
There was a call in to the radio station. I had years of practice with quick dialing. Won lots of 45 records as a teenager doing the same thing.
We enjoyed the movie.
Hugs Cecilia
I enjoyed the movie too. Very sad parts, but the ending made it worth the watch. Love and hugs. ๐
I don’t think I cried as much at a movie as I did when I first saw Schindler’s List in the theater.
That makes two of us. A worth the watch history lesson. ๐
A fantastic movie – it’s time I watched it again! Spielberg at his best.
I agree, Keith. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐

I saw this movie when it came out. Excellent movie.
It sure is an excellent movie. Everyone should watch this wonderful piece of history. ๐
I haven’t seen the film, but I knew the whole story, it surprised me that only after the book was written and even more when the film came out people started to talk about him, I thought he wasn’t honored enough, he was such a humble man, without the film many Germans would never have heard of him.
He was a most wonderful man that did the right thing in a horrible time. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Gattina. Scritches to Rosie. ๐
A wonderful movie with beautiful cinematography!!
Yes indeed. Scritches to the precious pups. ๐
Such a powerful story.
A very powerful story. Scritches to the pups and a hug to you. ๐

I pray you and Mr. Zane have a fabulous weekend. Scritches to Lil’ Bit and Squeaker.
He did become a hero. A wonderful movie.
You and Mr. Sweetie have a fabulous weekend too. Love and hugs. ๐
I caught the movie when it first came out and didnโt really appreciate it at the time. However, when I watched it again last year, I found it incredibly poignant and deeply moving, showcasing the strength of the human spirit.
Happy Thursday, Sandee!
Well said, Veronica. It’s a most powerful message. Happy Thursday and rest of the week, Veronica. ๐
I did not read the book but I did see the movie and still cry when I think about it, especially now.

I have never seen that movie…..however, I read a book in the 70s, Salems Lot which I loved and I remember having a hard time putting it down. I watched the 1970s movie of it and the newer one yesterday, I rather stick with the book
The books are usually far better than the movies. Happy Sunday and week. Scritches to the kitties. ๐
I’ve never been brave enough to watch this, “Sophie’s Choice”, or “The Passion of Christ”. lol Maybe one day… Hugs and well wishes, my dear.
It’s a sad movie, but filled with joy for those he saved. Hugs. ๐
