The local sheriff was looking for a deputy, so Gomer went in to try out for the job.
“Okay,” the sheriff drawled, “Gomer, what is 1 and 1?”
“11” he replied.
The sheriff thought to himself, “That’s not what I meant, but he’s right.”
“What two days of the week start with the letter ‘T’?”
“Today and tomorrow.”
The sheriff was again surprised that Gomer supplied a correct answer that he had never thought of himself.
“Now Gomer, listen carefully: Who killed Abraham Lincoln?”
Gomer looked a little surprised himself, then thought really hard for a minute and finally admitted, “I don’t know.”
“Well, why don’t you go home and work on that one for a while?”
So, Gomer wandered over to the barbershop where his pals were waiting to hear the results of the interview. Gomer was exultant. “It went great! First day on the job and I’m already working on a murder case!”

Way to go Gomer!!! Funny one Sandee, very funny
Gomer isn't very bright, but he's very energetic. 🙂
With Gomer's ability to think outside the box he should have that case solved in no time 🙂
Maybe Ann, but I'm not convinced. 🙂
That Gomer is goin' places. Just you wait and see…
big hugs xoxo
He's probably going to end up in the unemployment line. 🙂
LMAO he really is in another world isn't he
Have a tastic day Sandee :-h
He sure is Steve. 🙂
He he he =))
That was my response too. 🙂
That Gomer is the greatest. Good thinking Gomer. Sandee, you and Zane and Little Bit have a fantastic week end.
Yep, he's something else indeed. You all have a fantastic weekend too, 🙂
I think Gomer is the type of policeman that crooks would love. Have a wonderful Saturday Sandee. See ya.
Cruisin' Paul
There's not doubt about that Paul. The crooks do love him. 🙂
Another good one. Joke writing really is a skill that can't be taught, I'll bet. You either have it or you don't.
I agree Jean, you either have it or you don't. Some people are never funny and some don't even have to try to be funny. 🙂
There's a place for Gomer somewhere in the governmant.
Don't we have enough of them in government now? 🙂
LOL…I agree with Kismet!
Yep, I agree. 🙂
Good one, and yes, Kismet nailed it also.
Yes, Kismet nailed it. 🙂
so silly! Have a lovely weekend!
Sometimes I just feel silly Kathe. 🙂
Gomer is no Columbo. I'm with Kismet… work in government and not around me.
Most of my readers are on the same page. I like that. 🙂
Gomer might not be the right man for the job. 😉 Have a fabulous weekend!
Gomer isn't the right man for the job. Probably not many jobs. 🙂
Heeheehee! At least he has confidence!
He does indeed. 🙂
Gomer just needs a little direction. He can already think outside of the box.
He needs a lot of direction. A lot. 🙂
I think I have met Gomer! Or was it Bubba?! Hahaha. Good one. He will figure it out.
Have a great weekend in the boat. Big hugs, honey…
I know I've met him too and I love him just like you do. 🙂
And I'm sure that he'll figger it out in time to have his deputy Seymour PetRock figure out how to put a bullet in his pocket…
I'm guessing you're spot on. As usual. Hey to Seymour. 🙂
Good for Gomer!
Bless his heart. Bless his heart. 🙂
Who knows, maybe Gomer will come up with a new theory on this one. 🙂
I really doubt it Rhonda, but one never knows about Gomer. 🙂
Hahaha!! Gomer is now working 🙂
But for how long? That's the question. 🙂
Congratulations on getting the job, heheh 😛
He's a piece of work indeed. 🙂
