We all have our favorite foods. We changed ours up a bit this year and this is the first time we’ve done a big dinner for New Years day. 🙂

  1. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

Such a cute kitty! On New Year’s Eve we alternate between friends having a celebration with champagne and a buffet meal. This year it is our turn to host it. New Year’s Day we always have leg of lamb.

  2. nancy chan says:

Such a sweet cute kitty looking forward to the New Year! Usually it will be a quiet eve, nothing special. We may not be able to sleep early because of the noise of the fireworks.

    Sandee,

Kindess is a good guide word for 2019. I hope you and your hubby have a lovely time saying goodbye to the old and hello to the new year. Thank you for being such a sweet and wonderful friend this year. I shall look forward to our continue friendship’s growth in the coming new year! God bless! XO

    • Sandee says:

Yes, we always welcome the new year. I too am looking forward to our continued friendship. I just love you and Marie. God Bless you and yours. 🙂

  4. 15andmeowing says:

That is an adorable kitten. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, I always enjoy your answers. I like your guide word, that is one we should all use. And I agree with #4, new beginnings are part of life. I hope you enjoy your meatloaf dinner, it sounds good. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2019! XO

    • Sandee says:

I so enjoy your Friendly Fill-ins. I know we’ll enjoy our meatloaf. This recipe has a Mexican flair and hubby and I love that spicy touch. I wish you and your a happy and healthy 2019. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

Thanks for the link. I think anything that will cut down on cavities is a good thing.

Be here at 2pm on New Years day. Don’t bring anything as there is plenty to go around. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

It warmed my heart too. It’s not every day you see a new years kitty. We are loving our plans for new years day too. 🙂

  5. Isabella Angel BeadedTail says:

What a precious kitty! Mmmm, meatloaf! I love meatloaf but J, not so much, so since he cooks we rarely have it. I think we’re having homemade pizza for NYE but that could change. Hope you have a wonderful final weekend of 2018!

    • Sandee says:

Both hubby and I are country kind of folks. We were raised on meatloaf and fried chicken. Lots of potatoes and gravy. Scritches to Lexi, Angel and Isabella. My best to you and J. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

We don’t really celebrate anymore. We just do a good dinner and that’s it. Never go out either. Staying home works for us. 🙂

  6. caren gittleman says:

I agree with you about “kindness” and love your reasoning about new beginnings. New Years Eve will find my husband, myself and my oldest step daughter babysitting for my granddaughter so that her parents can have a MUCH DESERVED night out! Their first night out alone since Harper was born! xoxoxo

    • Sandee says:

I would do the same thing so the kids can have a night out. Good for you. Of course you both can dote over Harper whiles they are having their night out. 🙂

  7. David E. McClendon Sr. says:

Don’t forget the collard greens on New Year’s Day. We must have collards (or any other kind of green like spinach, turnip, mustard greens, cabbage, etc.) black eyed peas, cornbread, and ham on New Year’s Day to make it a successful New Year.
Have a blessed and safe New Year.

    • Sandee says:

We’ve never done this for a successful new year. I guess being born and raised in Oregon it wasn’t part of the culture. I love all those things though. You have a blessed and safe New Year too. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

We do enjoy our lives. It’s a good thing. We’re growing old together and it’s a precious thing. You both have a blessed weekend and a very happy New Year. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

We’ve had a lovely weekend. We visited friends last night and had some snacks together and then went out to dinner. It was most enjoyable. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂

  8. Rose A (@mail4rosey) says:

1 – On New Year’s Eve, I plan to stay up until midnight.
2 – A goal that I have for 2019 is to determine if I want to stay at my job which I love, or try to move on to one that pays better, because I love to travel and my salary does not permit much of that…
3 – If I had to choose a guide word for 2019, it would be stability. We became stable again in 2017 /18 and I would like that to continue. It is not something I will ever again take for granted.
4 – New beginnings can be the best gifts of all.
    Happy New Year to you!

    • Sandee says:

Thanks for answering the questions again. I always enjoy you weighing in. I hear you about a better paying job. If you can’t do what you want to do then you have to consider a move.

      Have a fabulous day. 🙂

  9. Feline Opines says:

Kindness is so important. We sometimes think there are humans who are kinder to felines and other four-legged creatures than they are to other humans. We wish you joy, happiness and much kindness in 2019.
    Purrs & Head Bonks,
The Tribe of Five and The Female Human

    • Sandee says:

Kindness is my word for 2019. I’m going to think of this word every time something starts getting to me. Being more kind is a good thing. 🙂

  10. L.M.G. Miller says:

Aw, that New Year kitty is too cute! And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! You are so right about new beginnings. They can sound like scary things, but we can’t avoid them and should instead, like you said, embrace them. Wishing you a happy and healthy 2019!
