You'd think it would have something to do with beer right? That was my first thought. 🙂
I am actually surprised how much of this I didn't know. Interesting Australia trivia.
And you're right next door so to speak. 🙂

There is much to learn about Australia. 🙂
Australia has deadly spiders and snake. I doubt that I'll be there in the near future. Have a fantastic Saturday Sandee. Hi Zane, Hi Little Bit Hi everyone. See ya.
You're right they do. I'd still love to visit someday. 🙂

Scritches to LB and big hugs to you and Zane, honey…
I'd love to be in a great hotel and actually stay and visit where I wanted for as long as I want. Cruise ships don't give you much time to do anything. 🙂
Not a single mention of Vegemite.
Nope, not a mention. 🙂
Interesting trivia! d-)
I thought so too and I've a good friend that lives in Australia. 🙂

Me too Steve, me too. What a delightful trip that would surely be. 🙂
People of Queensland in Australia are called "Banana Benders",
Is that because they wear Banana Hammocks to the beach??
People from the Australian state of Queensland are referred to as Banana benders, simply because Queensland is the home of Australia's banana industry.
Banana hammocks are gross. You know that right. 🙂
thanks for the info! I don't think that I knew any of this! xoxo
I didn't know any of this either. 🙂
Even more reasons for me to want to go visit someday!
Me too, I've a friend there and he's always adding great things about his country on his blog. Most fascinating. 🙂
Some place in western Australia got it's first and only (at that time) pay phone in the late 1980s; our local news showed the number. I called it and spoke with a bloke who'd been running out of the pub to answer it every time it rang LOL.
How fun is that. I'd have called too if I'd known about this. Way cool Mike. 🙂
How interesting. Now we knows why there are so many sharks in the see around Australia. I may be because there are so much food (people) LOL. y-
Could be just that. It sure is a beautiful country. 🙂
Had no idea about the snow!! Good stuff to know. Quizzing my kids at dinner tonight!
My dad used to do these kinds of quizzes when we were growing up. He said it was good to things about other countries. There's so much to know too. 🙂
Given the opportunity, I would visit Australia on a heartbeat with camera in tow. Gotta see some Australian rules football.
Me too. I've always loved hearing, seeing and reading about Australia. 🙂
We offered our daughter a trip around Europe when she graduates. She asked if she could go to Australia instead. Fine by me!! 🙂
I'd rather go to Australia too. 🙂
Australia sounds like a cool place to visit especially since there is a lot of beaches. Here we have all the sand but no water, sighs. Crocodile Dundee is one of my favorite romantic movies although I know Australia is nothing like that, still you know, he was such a cool character, sighs.
