You know that little thing inside your head that keeps you from saying things you shouldn’t? Yeah, I don’t have one of those.
My people skills are just fine. It’s my tolerance to idiots that needs work.
I’m only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand.
So when is this, ‘Old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in?
Have you ever listened to someone for a while and wondered, ‘Who ties your shoelaces for you?’
I prefer not to think before speaking. I like being just as surprised as everyone else by what comes out of my mouth.
There are times when my greatest accomplishment is just keeping my mouth shut.
Be careful when you follow the masses, sometimes the “M” is silent!

This is a terrific piece of advice! I am sort of the same way. I end up getting myself into more trouble than anything else.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! <3
I can get both feet in my mouth and still be heard loud and clear. 🙂
Sometimes I put my foot in my mouth too. It is hard to stop and thing before blurting things out. That is great advise. Sandee, you and Zane have a fantastic day.
The older we get the more we blurt. Bless our hearts. 🙂
I do have the little voice inside my head that says "NO!" when my pet rock is saying "don't admit you hear voices or they'll lock you UP!". So I ignore the little voice and constantly am laughed at by a pet rock…
Seymour is pretty cruel at times isn't he. I like that about him. 🙂
lol! Good ones. The one that especially resonates for me today is "I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand."
Have a great weekend, Sandee! big hugs xoxo
I like that one too.
You have a great weekend as well. 🙂
That's a whole bunch of good stuff right there!
Big hugs from cold and snowy Mayberry, honey…
I love being snarky. It's a good thing. 🙂
Sometimes that filter does not do it's job; the older I get, the less I care.
That's two of us Joe. 🙂
My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance to idiots that needs work. That's the one that I love the most.
Have a wonderful Saturday Sandee & Zane. See ya.
I am partial to that one too Paul. Hope all is well in your world. 🙂
I think that most politicians wear slip-ons so that they don't have to admit that they can't tie their own shoelaces.
You're probably right about this. 🙂
Hi Sandee, there were times when I just kept silent and I ended up having people coming up to me to ask whether I am feeling okay or not. Lol!
I need to work on the keeping quiet part a bit more. A lot more. 🙂
Thanks. Wisdom cab be a scarce commodity. There have been times in my life when a filter would've been advantageous so I live and learn.
cab? Keyboarding is also a scarce commodity 😉
I can so relate. My mouth has gotten me in lots of trouble. 🙂
I knew what you meant. 🙂
I don't know why I'm responding to this. I'm missing a golden opportunity to remain silent.
I hear you and I would have responded too. 🙂
I am the opposite. I tend to keep too quiet for too long and then when I do reach a limit and speak out, I'm viewed as being a big fat jerk. 😉 I'm 45 now, so it's probably not going to change.
It's probably going to get worse as you age. It sure has for me. 🙂
I absolutely love this one: "Have you ever listened to someone for a while and wondered, 'Who ties your shoelaces for you?'" LOL
I've thought this more than once about some folks. 🙂
"There are times when my greatest accomplishment is just keeping my mouth shut." Me too, me too. And sometimes that is something to be pretty proud of.
I pull this off now and then, but not often enough. 🙂
These are so true for me LOL loved
My people skills are just fine. It's my tolerance to idiots that needs work.
But this is my favourite and very good advice
Be careful when you follow the masses, sometimes the "M" is silent!
Have an advicetastic day Sandee :-f
I really loved both of them, but the masses one is a favorite. 🙂
Woooff we can keep silent either :-O
And you shouldn't keep quiet either. 🙂
I think the last one is my fave!! xoxo catchatwithcarenandcody
That is a good one indeed. Tomorrow there are more and they are good too. 🙂
While i've never wondered who ties their laces, i have wondered how they found their way out of the bed that morning.
Well there is that too. 🙂
Hahaha. Love that about the masses. I was raised in the South, where we learn to be kind to idiots' faces, then talk about them behind their backs, usually prefaced with the term, "Bless her heart…"
I loved the masses too and my family was from the south so we all knew what bless his/her heart meant. 🙂
Super especially the last one.
Have a great weekend!
I love the last one very much. I know so many of them too. 🙂
"I'm only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand."
This is my favorite. Miscommunication happens so easily. If I worried about what others understood, I've never open my mouth. 😉
It's one of the toughest things to do indeed. I so remember doing TQM while I was working and that was one of the biggest pitfalls. 🙂
Sometimes it would be good to be able to take back what you've said.
Yes it would Binky. Too bad all we can do is say we're sorry. 🙂
LOL – the masses and the asses 🙂
Sometimes the m is silent. 🙂
