Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Make sure you leave a link to your post and Iโ€™ll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.

Nachos

Nachos are called nachos because they are named after their inventor, Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya. According to the story, in 1940, a few American women crossed the border into Piedras Negras in Coahuila, Mexico, to do some shopping. They stopped at the Victory Club restaurant looking for something to eat, but it was outside of business hours, so there was no chef or cook there. However, Nacho, the maรฎtre d’ at the restaurant, offered to make them something, and he ran into the kitchen, grabbed some fried corn tortilla chips, topped them with Colby cheese and slices of pickled jalapeรฑos, and placed them in the oven. The women loved them and called them Nachoโ€™s special, and the rest is culinary history. Source: BuzzFeed

No idea about this story of Nachos. I can not say anything about the taste, but it looks
fantastic. I like the shape. A good start for a mandala.
Happy WW, dear Sandee! Hugs and joy!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜˜

Some of the best dishes seem to have been created by accident, or out of necessity. This was both. Thanks for the yummy post. Alana ramblinwitham

Thank you for the excellent trivia. I have had nachos in many places, but the ones I had in a small restaurant in Colorado sticks in my memory fondly. I don’t even recall the name of the restaurant.

Thank you for all the work you do for the bloghops, Sandee. Love and hugs to you.

Nachos, piled high with black beans, veggies and of course the cheese, are so good. Every single ridiculous calorie is worth it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Darla M Sands says:

Pretty! My husband and I heard a slightly different but still fun explanation. In that version, the restaurant owner fried the corn tortillas for a quick snack. This one seems more likely, though. lol Hugs, my dear.

  7. Kitties Blue says:

Those nachos look way fancier than Nachoโ€™s specials. Our mom likes the originals but has not had them in a very long time. Cooper is happy you liked his photo today. Thanks for linking us up. I don’t eat these very often. I like them with chicken, but also like the meat free ones too. I love Cooper Murphy. You can tell him I said so. Happy day and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and a big hug to you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hard to believe a simple mix of chips, cheese, and jalapeรฑos became such a classic. The plate in the photo looks delicious! ๐Ÿ˜‹

    Happy Wednesday, Sandee!
