Shortest Commercial Flight
The Loganair Westray to Papa Westray route is the shortest scheduled passenger flight in the world. Flights on the route are scheduled for one-and-a-half minutes, and actual flying time is closer to one minute. The record for the fastest flight is 53 seconds. The route is flown by Loganair, a Scottish regional airline that serves Scotland’s Highlands and Islands. Source: Wikipedia

An aircraft and the sea in the same image?
You make my day, dear Sandee!
Happy WW and a fine week ahead! Hugs, joy and love!❤️😘
Island hopping is what they are doing here. Happy WW and rest of the week, Suzana. Love and hugs. 🙂
That’s amazing , Glad to know about this.
Thanks a lot for hosting WW.
I thought it was noteworthy. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friend. 🙂
I’ve had a flight that lasted a few minutes, but never one as short as that!
The quickest for me was about and hour. I can’t imagine one this short. Happy WW and rest of the week, Keith. 🙂
WOW……never heard of this but my pilot husband probably has!
Hugs, Pam
He probably know about this for sure. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Teddy. 🙂
He doesn’t get high enough off the ground to make it fun and pretty.
I’m guessing you’re right about this. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂
That’s a quick flight. I imagine you wouldn’t even have time to get comfortable before you were at your destination
I’m guessing your right about that. I found this pretty interesting. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Gibbs. 🙂
WOW, maybe a fast walk would do it if one has trepidations about flying, haha. Or a quick trot.
Only if you can walk on water. Island hopping. Happy WW and rest of the week. 🙂
How cool! I’ve been on short flights, but not as short as one-and-a-half minutes. Happy Wednesday! Hugs!
It’s hard to wrap ones mind around a short flight like this. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Eugenia. Love and hugs. 🙂
Indeed, it is, dear Sandee! 😊
It is hardly worth taking a flight that short!
Island hopping. Better than taking a boat I’m guessing. Happy WW and rest of the week. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
I watch Steve Marsh on You Tube and he videos the different places he travels to. Some time ago he took this flight from one island to the other and timed it to see if it really did only take a minute. I can’t remember how long it took but it was around a minute. He is on QM2 on a half world cruise right now.
There are so many wonderful tidbits of things to learn. Happy WW and rest of the week, Sweet Jackie. 🙂
Definitely one for trivia buffs. Alana ramblinwitham
I love trivia. Happy WW and rest of the week, Alana. 🙂
That is a short flight- I hope it is cheap. 🙂 Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
I’m sure it’s cheap. Happy WW and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Wow, that’s pretty short!
It sure is and I was amazed. Happy WW and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
That is a short flight, but I am guessing that this is a much-needed way to get from one island to the other. I had not heard of this. Again, always a delight to learn new things. Thank you, Sandee. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Blessings and much love to you. Hugs.
You’re right about that. I would take that plane to get from one island to another. Love and hugs to you, my friend. 🙂
Thank you dear friend. Peace to you.
That’s an incredibly short flight and hardly seems worth it, in fuel consumption and manpower. Interesting! Happy Wednesday, Sandee. Thanks for hosting this link party!🌹
I guess you could go by boat too. Happy Wednesday, my friend. Hugs. 🙂
A one minute flight and an hour to get through TSA. Doesn’t sound like a plan to me. I’ll walk. 🤣😎🙃
😂🤠
I don’t think they have TSA there, but I’m sure there is a process to assure safety. 🙂
They barely get off the ground before touching down again. Now I’m curious as to why.
There is a body of water to get across. Happy WW and rest of the week. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
Ooooh. Makes sense. Wish we had that here!
That’s my kind of flight!
Mine too. I flew from Miami to Seattle and that was a long day. Shorter is better. 🙂
Good golly that was not even enough time to fasten their seat beats.
Very interesting
Hugs x 4
Cecilia
Just barely. I thought this was very interesting too. Love and hugs to you and Kit and scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Reminds me of Wings, one of the funniest and cleanest sit-coms ever. Ran from 1990 to ’97 and I rarely missed an episode!🛩️🤠
I’ve not seen that. I’ll have to check it out. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
How interesting!
I thought so too. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
Maybe they could use a catapult to launch people across to the next island instead.
Yikes. That would be most frightening. You did make me laugh though. 🙂
It takes longer to get down the runway and get airborne than the time spent in the air, but when you gotta get there…you gotta get there.
You’re right about that, but I’ll bet it’s faster than going by boat. Happy Wordless Wednesday, my friend. 🙂
I love you my Only
I love you my Handsome Husband. 🙂
Better than riding on an uncovered boat in the rain to island hop, I do suppose. 🙂
I hear you and far faster. Happy day and rest of the week, my friend. 🙂
Unique info ~ thanks,
Hugs and love to you from me and Ziggy ~ xo
I found it amazing, but I can see the need. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. 🙂
Mom wishes all flights could be that short – she is not a fan of flying:). We told her to get us a sled and we would zoom her everywhere.
Woos – Misty and Timber
We don’t fly anymore. Our goal is to stay home with our kitties. We love it. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to your precious pups. 🙂
I read a Scottish mystery series that takes place in Orkney and various other islands; those coppers are always taking planes.
Adore the audiobooks because of the lovely accents.
I love audiobooks and had many when I was working. Would listen to them between my meetings during travel. Thanks for that fond memory. 🙂
Talk about a short flight! Interesting to hear this. Have a great day and rest of the week!
I found it most amazing. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Yvonne. 🙂
That one is such an interesting tidbit. I suppose the islands make for interesting transportation anomalies 😺
You’re right about that. Puddle jumpers are necessary. Happy WW and rest of the week. 🙂
WOW one minute – it takes much longer to prep and get ready and land than the flight itself. We did lots and lots of flying in a small plane, hubby used to be a private pilot, so this is amazing.
Thank you, Sandee, for the weekly linkup party. Happy #WW.

I hear you. I found this so amazing. Happy WW and rest of the week. Thank you for all you do. 🙂
That sounds like it’s getting in, take off, and get down…Say What?!…MOL…Amazing! Double Pawkisses for a Happy Wednesday and week ahead to you, dear Sandee, Zane and the kitties too🐾😙💞
It’s a puddle jumper and it’s crossing a body of water. I found this most interesting. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to your wonderful Granny. 🙂
That seems like a serious waste of fuel for a flight so short. But, my main comment is that I wish it was 69 degrees here! Thanks for linking us up. I don’t know if that’s the only way to get to that island. It seems amazing. It was pretty warm here today and we’re happy about it. Love and hugs to you, scritches to the kitties and a big smooch to Cooper Murphy. 🙂
You’d think they’d just have a ferry to the island instead. Oh, well, I’m sure they have their reasons.
My post is up now, by the way, it’s been a long several days and a lot of stuff is falling behind.
Blessed week to you and Mr. Zane and scritches to your kitty overlords.
I’m guessing they might have that too. I noticed your post didn’t post. I knew you’ll put it live in due time. You and Mr. Sweetie have a blessed day and rest of the week, too. Love and hugs. 🙂
Sandee, Fun Fact the whole process of Taxing to the take off position frem the terminal and Take Off and Landing and taxing again takes much longer than the actual flight.
I hear you, Mike. I found this most interesting. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friend. Scritches to Screwball. 🙂
Fascinating! I guess they’re not going to be rolling out the drink cart on that flight. LOL
Happy Wednesday, Sandee!
No time for the drink cart. No time for most anything. Happy Wednesday. 🙂
That’s the kind of flight where you barely have time to buckle up before you’re touching down.
Love this quirky fact.
Happy Thursday, Sandee!
Exactly. You’re home shortly. Happy rest of the week, Veronica. Hugs. 🙂
That’s amazing. You wouldn’t even have to sit down.

I hear you. I found this tidbit of info most interesting. Happy day and rest of the week. Thanks for linking up. 🙂
As soon as you’re up…you’r down!
You captured it perfectly. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂
Now that’s quite the island hop, Sandee! Enjoy the rest of the week.
It sure is. Happy day and rest of the week. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Wilson. 🙂
Sweet! Hugs, my dear.
Hugs to you, my friend. 🙂
That is so interesting! I never heard of this short flight before reading this!
I hadn’t heard about this either. Have a fabulous day. 🙂
Woahhhh! Why would they even need a flight for such a short distance. I’m perplexed. 🙂
Thanks for this fascinating post for #WW my dearmost Sandee.
Love ya tons and tons. <3
Crossing a body of water. Love and hugs, my Sweet Natasha. 🙂
