Eiffel Tower
Originally, the Eiffel Tower was going to be erected in Barcelona, but the project was rejected because citizens thought it was an eyesore. Source: The Fact Site

Glad to know about the fact of Eiffel Tower, Intersting.
Thanks a lot for hosting.
I didn’t know this. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
It’s so beautiful monument. I add a link about a Romanian engineer, Gheorghe Panculescu, who worked with Gustave Eiffel
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gheorghe_P%C4%83nculescu_(engineer)
Happy WW, dear Sandee! Hugs and love!❤️😘
It sure is. Thanks for the link. Very interesting. Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Suzana. Love and hugs. 🙂
The Eiffel tower is a great engineering achievement. Paris was very wise to embrace its construction way back then. Great trivia as always, Sandee. Thank you. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Much love to you.
I agree with your assessment. It’s a beautiful structure. Love and hugs, my friend. 🙂
Thank you dear friend. Blessings to you.
Boy, I bet the Marcelonian’s have regretted it ever since!
I would think so. It’s quite the tourist attraction. 🙂
It is such a beautiful structure!
I think so, too. Happy Wednesday, Duke. 🙂
Interesting. I bet the people of Barcelona are regretting that decision
I would think so, Ann. Have a fabulous day, my friend. Scritches to Gibbs. 🙂
Been there, done that……amazing views of the city and quite magical too!
Hugs, Pam
I would love to see those amazing views. Love and hugs to you and scritches to handsome Teddy. 🙂
An engineering marvel, and a beautiful structure. Thank you for sharing the trivia, Sandee. Happy Wednesday! Hugs!
I agree with you, Eugenia. Happy Wednesday, my friend. Hugs. 🙂
Everyone has their own opinion and France won on this one, big time!
Yes France won big time. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
That was a poor decision by the people of Barcelona. It is a beautiful structure and famous world wide.
I have just posted late this week, which is better than not posting at all last week
I agree with you. It’s always good to see a post from you, Jackie. Love and hugs. 🙂
Strange how an eyesore, located somewhere else, became a beloved symbol of a city, Paris. I wonder if Barcelona feels regret. Alana ramblinwitham
Strange indeed. I wonder the same thing. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂
We learned something! Thanks!
I try for new information on Wednesdays. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
I have made similar mistakes in my life, of course not THAT Big
I hear you. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. Scritches to handsome Beau. 🙂
Granny has seen it in Autumn 1987, and was very disappointed when she saw it. It didn’t looked like this beautiful picture at all…maybe because it was very cold back then😸Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day and Week ahead to you, Zane and the kitties too🐾😽💞
I’m sorry it was a disappointment. I would still love to see it. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to Granny. 🙂
That’s funny, I didn’t know that.
I didn’t know this either. Now we do. 🙂
I’ve always thought it was a strange tower. But if the folks in Paris like it, who am I to judge. 🤣😎🙃
It sure has become a tourist attraction. Happy WW and rest of the week. 🙂
Very very true 🤣😎🙃
I’d love to see the Eiffel Tower in person some day.
That makes two of us. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
A lot of people in Paris didn’t want it either, apparently. But it’s an amazing structure.
That’s true. It’s a most amazing structure. 🙂
It is a beautiful eyesore. 🙂 Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
It’s beautiful indeed. Love and hugs to you and scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Thanks for the factoid of the Eiffel. Tower ~ it has become symbolic of love for many ~
Hugs and love, Sandee from an artist reflects ~
It sure has. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. 🙂
Barcelona’s loss for sure….what a beautiful monument!
I agree with you. Scritches to the pups and my very best to their peeps. 🙂
Eiffel was an interesting figure in architecture; did you know that he designed the inside structure of the Statue of Liberty?
No I didn’t know that. Way cool. 🙂
I’ve never been there, but it’s on the bucket list.
Love and hugs!
I’ve not been there either, but would love to go. Love and healing hugs, Kymber. 🙂
I am happy to say I have been up to the Eiffel Tower.
Unfortunately not a long visit. It was in April 1969 there were student protests going on in Paris. The chaperones of our group of 19 years olds. Rushed us out of the hotel at 6 am on to a bus to make a quick trip to the Eiffel Tower. We had plans to stay in Paris for 4 days but only stayed 24 hours then on to Englang.
Hugs Cecili
How fun. I would love to visit the Eiffel Tower. Lucky you. 🙂
I love you my Only. I love our Kitties too. Your Loving Husband.
I love you and our kitties, my Wonderful Husband. 🙂
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and one man’s junk is another man’s treasure. What Spain thought was an eyesore the world thought was engineering genius.
You’re right about that. I think it’s beautiful. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friend. 🙂
It just goes to show ‘art’ is in the eye of the beholder. 😉 A beautiful image, dear Sandee.
Amen to that. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to handsome Wilson. 🙂
I am afraid of heights so when I was in Paris in the summer of 1965 going to school, I never went up it. However, when Dad Tom and I went to Paris several years ago, I braved it. The painting makes it look much more beautiful than it is. But still, it is a very cool structure. Thanks for linking us up. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
I would love to go there. I think it’s beautiful. Scritches to all the kitties, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and a big hug to you. 🙂
I had the privilege of seeing it up close when I was in Paris. I didn’t know that bit about Barcelona, but I knew it wasn’t universally welcomed in Paris, either. It’s interesting how there is often resistance to new buildings that are different, but then people grow to love them over time.
You’re right about it not being universally welcomed in Paris. It sure is a wonderful tourist attraction. I would love to visit. 🙂
I didn’t know that. How interesting. Paris is on my bucket list. I hope to someday seen it in person. Have a great Wednesday and rest of the week!
I wonderful place to have on your bucket list. I hope you get there. 🙂
Never knew that about the Eiffel tower.
Thank you, Sandee, for the weekly linkup party. Happy #WW.

Hope you will join ES #WW https://esmesalon.com/wordlesswednesday/ NOW OPEN
I didn’t either. I would love to visit. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friend. 🙂
They thought it was an eyesore in France too, initially – it was meant to be only up for a year. But then there were protests to keep it.
I didn’t know this. I’m glad it’s there for good. 🙂
Interesting information. I don’t know much about it, but I’ve seen it when I was in Paris one time, from a distance at least. I was at the Orly airport. I’ve been to the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas though! And Paris Texas 🙂
Have a fun Wednesday! <3
I’ve not been to any of those places. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
It’s an amazing structure, worth visiting at least once if you can.
I agree. I would love to see this in person. Love and hugs, my friend. 🙂
Wow! Hugs, my dear.
I agree. Hugs back. 🙂
The Eiffel Tower is so iconic. We loved seeing it in person when we went to Paris.
Happy Wednesday, Sandee! Thank you for hosting!
Lucky you. It’s on my bucket list. Happy Wednesday, my friend. You’re welcome for the hosting. 🙂
Hard to imagine Paris without the Eiffel Tower now.

I agree with you, Veronica. You’re most welcome for the nugget of history. 🙂
I love the Eiffel Tower!
I do, too. Happy rest of the week, Keith. 🙂
They say one’s loss is another’s gain. Looks like the French never stopped smiling there after 🙂
Happy weekend, Sandee.
I agree with you. Happy weekend. 🙂
Wow. That is super interesting. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” I think it’s beautiful, and I hope to go there one day. – Love you Sandee. I hope you’re having a great weekend.
I love the Eiffel Tower. I would love to see it in person, too. Love you, Karen. 🙂
