The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a 1966 Italian epic spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Leone and starring Clint Eastwood as “the Good”, Lee Van Cleef as “the Bad”, and Eli Wallach as “the Ugly”.  The plot revolves around three gunslingers competing to find a fortune in a buried cache of Confederate gold amid the violent chaos of the American Civil War (specifically the Battle of Glorieta Pass of the New Mexico Campaign in 1862) while participating in many battles, confrontations, and duels along the way. It was an Italian-led production with co-producers in Spain, West Germany, and the United States.  Most of the filming took place in Spain.  Source: Wikipedia

I like Clint Eastwood, but I do not know this movie.
Thank you for these series of posts, dear Sandee!
Happy WW and a fine week! Hugs and joy!❤️😘

My mom used to watch westerns sometimes, and it was amazing how many now-famous characters appeared in them. SO many people. I remember her talking about The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, so I’m guessing the movie played at our house, at some point. I just don’t remember it. I like Clint Eastwood though. Have a happy day.

That’s a classic. I never saw it in the theater, but watched it on TV as a kid and enjoyed it very much. The soundtrack by Morricone is terrific. Thank you as always for hosting, Sandee. Happy Wednesday!😊

Clapping…we are big Clint Eastwood fans here…and western movies. We used to attend a monthly western movie night then there was COVID.
    Hugs Cecilia

Some of the best western movies ever were the “Spaghetti Westerns”, including Fist Full of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, Hang ‘Em High, and Outlaw Josey Wales. They brought a grit to the genre that Gene Autry and Roy Rogers never approached. Loved those movies.

The title of this movie always brings a smile to my face. It reminds me of a funny incident from college.
During an accounting class, our lecturer said, “There are three types of debts: the good, the bad, and the…”
Before he could finish, the whole class shouted, “UGLY!” Haha! The correct answer was actually doubtful debts. Just goes to show how iconic this movie really is!

    Happy Wednesday, Sandee!

I do like westerns, but I don’t think I ever saw this one. I feel like I might have seen it since my father loved these types of movies. I just don’t remember. Have a great week!

Yes, I’ve been a lifelong Clint Eastwood spaghetti Western fan, and love “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly!” I have the song on replay in my head now! I’d love to see his son, Scott, do a continuation of this!
