The Godfather is a 1972 American epic gangster film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mario Puzo, based on Puzo’s best-selling 1969 novel. The film stars an ensemble cast including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Richard Castellano, Robert Duvall, Sterling Hayden, John Marley, Richard Conte, and Diane Keaton. It is the first installment in The Godfather trilogy, chronicling the Corleone family under patriarch Vito Corleone (Brando) from 1945 to 1955. It focuses on the transformation of his youngest son, Michael Corleone (Pacino), from reluctant family outsider to ruthless mafia boss. Source: Wikipedia

The Godfather was shot in multiple locations, including parts of New York City (as well as some of the burroughs), Los Angeles, and two different cities in Sicily (Forza d’Agro and Savoca). Source: Giggster

We don’t know if we have effurr seen this movie, Sandee. We know what’s it all about, but Granny was never able to focus on all that’s happened in there. It’s more a Grandpaw’s thing๐Ÿ˜ธ๐Ÿ˜ธDouble Pawkisses for a Happy Day to you, Zane and the kitties too๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜ฝ๐Ÿ’ž

  2. Wendy says:

A good old gangastah flick, for sure! The newer generations should see it. There’s lots of gangstah talk in rap and on the streets, but this was the history. Have a great Wordless Wednesday.

  3. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

I did see this film. Not sure that I watched it all the way through though because it isn’t particularly the sort of thing I enjoy.

    • Sandee says:

It was a bloody time indeed. I enjoyed it, but it’s not for everyone. Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Love and healing hugs, Jackie. ๐Ÿ™‚

I think I know this film, but I can not say too much.
But the film stars were great. Thank you for the reminder, dear Sandee!
It’s nice the series with movies.
Happy WW and a fine week!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜˜

We watch very little television. We do like a good movie now and then, but have been to a movie theater since the mid 90s. Scritches to the pups and healing hugs to Madison. ๐Ÿ™‚

One of the best movies. I’ve seen it several times as well as the sequels, but nothing is better than the original. Have a great Wednesday and rest of the week!

I’m not sure if they do or not. Hubby and I haven’t been to a movie theater since the mid 90s. Happy day and rest of the week, Carol. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. The Gang at LLB says:

My first and all time favorite movie! Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Talia Shire, Dianne Keaton ad especially James Caan really shined in this movie! Thanks for featuring it…and reminding me it may be time to rewatch it!

  8. Rosey says:

I have seen little bits and pieces here and there. And of course, the play on the title is everywhere. I have students who wear Godfather t-shirts and one who carries a G/F backpack. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. The OP Pack says:

Another superb masterpiece movie, but probably a bigger favorite with Dad than Mom.

    Happy WW.
