The Godfather
The Godfather is a 1972 American epic gangster film directed by Francis Ford Coppola, who co-wrote the screenplay with Mario Puzo, based on Puzo’s best-selling 1969 novel. The film stars an ensemble cast including Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Richard Castellano, Robert Duvall, Sterling Hayden, John Marley, Richard Conte, and Diane Keaton. It is the first installment in The Godfather trilogy, chronicling the Corleone family under patriarch Vito Corleone (Brando) from 1945 to 1955. It focuses on the transformation of his youngest son, Michael Corleone (Pacino), from reluctant family outsider to ruthless mafia boss. Source: Wikipedia
The Godfather was shot in multiple locations, including parts of New York City (as well as some of the burroughs), Los Angeles, and two different cities in Sicily (Forza d’Agro and Savoca). Source: Giggster

This is another movie that I never saw. I heard a lot about it but never saw it myself.
It’s bloody, but it’s a great movie. Hugs to you and scritches to Gibbs. ๐
We don’t know if we have effurr seen this movie, Sandee. We know what’s it all about, but Granny was never able to focus on all that’s happened in there. It’s more a Grandpaw’s thing๐ธ๐ธDouble Pawkisses for a Happy Day to you, Zane and the kitties too๐พ๐ฝ๐
It’s a bloody movie, but it depicted the mindset of these thugs. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to Granny. ๐
Oh yes I did see this violent but I liked it ๐
Have a gangstertastic week Sandee and thanks for hosting ๐
I liked this movie too. It was interesting following this family. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Steve. ๐
A good old gangastah flick, for sure! The newer generations should see it. There’s lots of gangstah talk in rap and on the streets, but this was the history. Have a great Wordless Wednesday.
Yes this was the history. He did many good things for his neighborhood, but so much destruction too. ๐
I’m not sure that I ever watched it and having said that, I probably never did and never will.
It’s a violent movie, but it’s a huge piece of history. ๐
I did see this film. Not sure that I watched it all the way through though because it isn’t particularly the sort of thing I enjoy.
It was a bloody time indeed. I enjoyed it, but it’s not for everyone. Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Love and healing hugs, Jackie. ๐
It’s considered to be one of the greatest movies of all time, a mixture of violence and sloppy romance! I visited Sicily last year so I could see the filming locations.
I enjoyed the movie. You’re right in your assessment of this fabulous film. Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. ๐
I think I know this film, but I can not say too much.
But the film stars were great. Thank you for the reminder, dear Sandee!
It’s nice the series with movies.
Happy WW and a fine week!โค๏ธ๐
Great actors indeed and the film shows how things were back in the day. ๐
Mom has never been a movie person. She knows of this film but has never actually seen it.
We watch very little television. We do like a good movie now and then, but have been to a movie theater since the mid 90s. Scritches to the pups and healing hugs to Madison. ๐
I’ve seen all three of the Godfather movies. I saw the first one with the young man who became my husband. I read the book also. Alana ramblinwitham
I’ve seen them all too. I’m so happy I wasn’t part of this family. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Alana. ๐
I have seen this movie at least once. It was okay, not a big fan of this type though.
Hey, it’s mid week Wednesday! Have a super day! โฅ
It’s not for everyone. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Barbara. ๐
I am not a fan of gangsta movies but it is an epic film with a stellar cast. Happy Wednesday.
You’re right about that, Eugenia. These kinds of movies aren’t for everyone, but it’s a slice of history,. ๐
I agree, Sandee, and I think it is important to be aware of that side of life.
I have never watched the entire movie, different parts throughout my life, but Iโve never seen the entire film. Maybe some day!
I enjoyed the movie, but looked at it as a slice of history. Happy Wordless Wednesday. ๐
One of the best movies ever. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
I agree with you, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties and a hug to you. Happy rest of the week. ๐
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so many famous lines came from that movie…. we did enjoy it.
Hugs Cecilia
You’re right about that. I enjoyed this movie too. Hugs, my friend. ๐
I couldn’t even tell you how many times I’ve seen that move, it’s lots!
I’ve seen it more than once too and plan on watching it again soon. Happy Wordless Wednesday. ๐
I don’t think I ever watched the whole movie.
It’s worth the watch. The evolution of the family is amazing to watch. ๐
I haven’t seen this but The Mister really likes it. ๐ Have a great Wednesday! xo
It’s a bloody movie, but a huge slice of history. ๐
Yes, that is so true, Sandee.
One of the best movies. I’ve seen it several times as well as the sequels, but nothing is better than the original. Have a great Wednesday and rest of the week!
You’re right, the original was the best one of the three. Happy Wordless Wednesday. ๐
Oh, you know how to pick my favorite movies, Sandee. This is the best movie in my opinion, great story, and fabulous performances by the cast. Wonderful sharing. Thank you!
We should watch this one together. I’m make the popcorn with lots of butter. Hugs. ๐
Awesome!!!
Another great iconic movie ~ they don’t make movies like that anymore do they??? ~
Hugs and love you and your family from me and Ziggy ~ ^_^
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
clm ~ A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
I’m not sure if they do or not. Hubby and I haven’t been to a movie theater since the mid 90s. Happy day and rest of the week, Carol. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. ๐
Mom remembers this one!
Me too. I enjoyed it very much. Stay safe, my friend. ๐
Such a classic movie. I watch it every time it is on. A wonderful movie.
A classic indeed and I’m going to watch it again soon. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Patrick. ๐
Iconic! A classic film. Thank you honey
You’re right on both counts. Happy day and rest of the week, Cloudia. Scritches to Pixie. ๐
What a classic movie.
Thanks, Sandee, for hosting and happy rest of the week.

It is a classic movie. Thank you for all you do, my friend. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Hugs. ๐
I think I saw this movie! In any case, I have the CD with the soundtrack of the film signed by Nino Rota.
Happy WW!
Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐
My first and all time favorite movie! Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, Talia Shire, Dianne Keaton ad especially James Caan really shined in this movie! Thanks for featuring it…and reminding me it may be time to rewatch it!
We’re going to re-watch it too. Scritches to the pups. Happy rest of the week, my friends. ๐
I have seen little bits and pieces here and there. And of course, the play on the title is everywhere. I have students who wear Godfather t-shirts and one who carries a G/F backpack. ๐
This is such an old movie. Great that it’s still so popular. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, my friend. ๐
Another superb masterpiece movie, but probably a bigger favorite with Dad than Mom.
Happy WW.
Woos – Misty and Timber
We loved this movie. A classic. Scritches to the pups. Happy rest of the week. ๐
It’s a classic and never grows old.
I agree with you. Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Love and hugs. ๐
One of the best movies of all time! Classic.
I agree with you. Going to watch it again. Happy rest of the week. Scritches to the pups and a hug to you. ๐
LOVED THIS FILM! Best Brando ever. Love your posts and comments!
You’re right about Brando. Loved him. Happy Wordless Wednesday. ๐
those movies are great, I really enjoyed them!
One of my favorites
Mine too. Happy rest of the week. ๐
That’s definitely a classic! Marlon Brando was SO good in it.
He sure was. Loved his work. ๐
One of my favourite movies! Also loved Parts 2 and 3. Thanks for hosting the Wordless Wednesday link party, Sandee! ๐
If we want to see them they are on Amazon Prime, but you have to pay for all three of them. That’s how popular they still are. ๐
They’ll always be popular, I think! I bought the entire set on BluRay a few years ago, to replace the VHS tapes we had.
Al Pacinoโs performance was legendary.
Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone was unforgettable as well.
Have a great weekend, Sandee!
Yes and yes, Veronica. You have a great weekend too, my friend. ๐
What a movie, seriously, WHAT A MOVIE!!! Happy Friday Sandee, we hope mew’ve had an epic week, and many thanks for adding our link, we really, really appreciate it!!! PURR PURR PURR โค
You’re most welcome for the linking. Yes, what a movie. All three of them. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to the precious kitties. ๐
