Titanic – 1997 film
Most of Titanic was shot in Baja California, Mexico, on a massive series of sound stages built for the movie. The complex known as Baja Studios and its massive water tank have since been used in filming oceanic adventures like โโDeep Blue Sea (1999), Pearl Harbor (2001), and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003). Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. Incorporating both historical and fictionalized aspects, it is based on accounts of the sinking of RMSย Titanic in 1912. Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet star as members of different social classes who fall in love during the ship’s maiden voyage. Source: Wikipedia
Linking up with a bunch of fantastic peeps from the blogosphere who host Wordless Wednesday โ Betty, Steve, image-in-ing, Keith, Cathy, Sara, Esme Salon, CatSynth, and Suzana.

I canโt even begin to imagine how big of a sound stage that must have been.

I had no idea where this was filmed. Thanks for playing along. ๐
I loved that movie. Nice to know that the water tanks have been used for other movies and not just abandoned or tore down.
I agree with you, Ann. A great movie. ๐
It’s been years since I have seen that film that’s a good capture and the info interesting ๐
Have a floattastic week Sandee and thanks for hosting ๐
That was a great capture. I had no idea where this film was filmed. Have a great rest of the week, Steve. ๐
Such a great movie!
I agree. Need to see it again. ๐
I knew none of this and that tank is awesome, did not know about it either. it feels so real in the movies
I knew nothing of this either. Most interesting. It does feel so very real. ๐
Thatโs a great movie! I did not know about it being filmed in Baja. Happy Wednesday, Sandee!๐
That was a surprise to me too. Happy Wednesday, my friend. ๐
That was such a good movie, sad too. Interesting to know where they did the filming. Happy Wednesday! <3
It was most sad, but everyone loves the history behind this tragic ship. ๐
We never think much about where and how movies are made, but so much goes into making them seem so very real.
This film was so very real to me. Loved it. ๐
That is very interesting. I am glad we started cruising (1996) before seeing that film. Sorry no WW this week, yesterday was very hectic. Chemo starts tomorrow.
I’ve cruised on the big ships after that, too, but only in warm waters. You’re in my thoughts and prayers, Jackie. Love you. ๐
I’ve never seen the movie but my son, when he was growing up, went through a “Titanic” phase, reading books on it, building a model of the ship, etc. and I love the song My Heart Will Go On! Alana ramblinwitham
I went through that phase too. It’s a fascinating story. Sad, but many can’t get enough history on the folks that were on this ship, how it went down and those that survived and those that didn’t. ๐
The whole world fell in love with those two characters.
You’re right about that. ๐
Well, this certainly brings back a lot of memories! Thanks for fillng in a lot of the background.
It sure does and you’re welcome for the background on this tragic event. ๐
Such a good movie, and thank you for sharing the backstory, Sandee. Happy Wednesday!
I didn’t know the backstory either, Eugenia. Happy Wednesday, my friend. Hugs. ๐
It’s very interesting, Sandee, and thank you for sharing. Hugs!
Mom remembers going to see that movie with our Angel Auntie El. Good memories.
Very good memories indeed. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Sharon. Scritches to the girls. ๐
One of the best movies ever. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
I agree, Ellen. We enjoyed it very much. Have a great day and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. ๐
Great movie! I did not know the movie set had been used for other blockbuster films! Wow
It was a great movie indeed. I didn’t know where the movie was filmed. Most interesting backstory. ๐
Thank for the information. I enjoy learning entertainment facts/trivia.
That was a great movie. Haven’t seen it in a long time.
It was a great movie indeed. I think I’ll watch it again. ๐
I remember seeing the film and I am so glad that the tank is being used still. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week,
I’m happy about it being used still. Have a wonderful week, Patrick and thank you for playing along. ๐
That was a great movie!
It was a great movie, indeed. Scritches to all the precious kitties. ๐
One of the classics of our time….loved that scene.
I also really like Kate Winslett. I saw her in The Holiday (a romantic comedy) she was so funny. An entirely different side of her talents
Hugs Cecilia
This movie is a classic indeed. I loved that scene too. Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, my friend. Love and hugs. ๐
There has never been a movie that touched Granny’s heart so deeply as this one…and believe it or not, Sandee, she has seen it more than ten times after the first time and it always touches her Soul…and besides, she could be the Titanic herself now๐ธ๐บDouble Pawkisses for a Happy Day and Week ahead for you, Zane and the kitties too๐พ๐ฝ๐
I loved this movie too. I cried more than once. It touched my soul as well. Double Pawkisses to the kitties and a big hug to Granny. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐
That must be an enormous set. Interesting! I didn’t know there was a soundstage in Baja.
It has to be huge and I didn’t know any of this either, Debbie. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐
LOVED that film. Wish there were more like it. Any suggestions for 2024 films or series????
I loved this film too. I’ll see if I can find out what’s going to be great films or series for this year. ๐
One of my all-time favorite movies.
Sounds like many of us loved this classic movie. ๐
The only film I’ve watched time and time again – apart from The Godfather!
It is a great movie. So is The Godfather. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Keith. ๐
What interesting background information of a classic movie!! Love this scene capture too!
I had no idea where this wonderful movie was filmed. Scritches to the pups. ๐
The movie came out the year my husband and I wed. ๐ Funny enough, there was a shop we entered during our honeymoon that had a shirt which read: “It sank. Get over it.” It’s funny the little things we remember. lol Best wishes and hugs, my dear.
It is the little things indeed. You made me smile. ๐
I’m so glad to have made you smile. They’re the best contagion. ๐
Cool tidbits! There’s a Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge, the foothills to Smoky’s, and I’d love to visit. Maybe, DH and I can plan do that in the fall when things cool down and calm down a bit. ๐
I know if you do you’ll post about it and I’ll read your post. Happy day and rest of the week, Cathy. ๐
I saw Titanic too, but don’t think I could watch it again. It was too sad.
It was sad, but it’s a classic sad story and movie ๐

A totally iconic flick that’s such a great watch. Thanks for all the background on this masterpiece!
It was a great movie. You’re welcome for the background story. ๐
Mom loved that movie. Very interesting to learn about how and where it was created
Woos – Misty and Timber
I had no idea where it was filmed, either. ๐
This movie brought the story to life for a new generation.
I hope you and Mr. Zane have a fabulous rest of the week. Scritches to Lil’ Bit and Squeakers.
It did that.
We are having a fabulous week. Love and hugs. ๐
One of my all time favorite movies. Of course, I’m just a hopeless romantic at heart. – Tell no one.. – Lol. I really like just about everything Kate Winslet is in, Leonardo, not so much, especially with his dating rule of not dating anyone over 25. Now he’s starting to feel like the creepy uncle you only see once a year at Thanksgiving. Lol.. I’m such a judgmental bitch. Hahahaha.
I hear you about him. Love. ๐
I really like that movie. The music is beautiful too!

You just gave me a history lesson because of course, I had to look that location up. ๐ Have a great weekend!
I’m having fun with this. Film locations are fun to find out. ๐
Laughing- That is priceless! I love how she walks away when she knows you’re watching her, cats have to keep their cards close to their chest. Them and their dignity, it’s hilarious. Sometimes it takes a baby to make some people play, who would also feel silly if they got caught. “Hugs and love”
Cats can go like the dickens and then just stop, lay down and go to sleep. Fun to watch. Love and hugs, my friend. ๐
Great shot. This movie made me cry.
Me too. It was a great movie though. ๐
