cool, that’s a very stately place!
The wine country is a magical place to visit. There are so many really cool wineries. 🙂
hmmm, I’m not so sure you’re a lightweight after all. I love driving around wine country — when I’m not the driver, lol. Decades ago when I was living in the SF Bay area, I used to go to Napa. They used to give out free samples so it was a great way to taste a wide variety of wines and learn a lot too as they always explained things. Last time I went though they had started charging for tastings so we had to be more choosy which ones we tried out. Beautiful area.
Where wine is concerned I am. I can do champagne pretty well though. Something about wine that really gets to me quick. Hard alcohol is even worse. So in that respect I’m a lightweight. Yes the charging made a big difference. 🙂
Before I moved to Japan to teach English, I didn’t drink much — mostly stuff like TGIF’s ice cream drinks which I’m not sure should count. In Japan though, when you go out in a group, there is always the first round of beer to do a campai with — and I hate beer so started ordering whiskey or sake to campai with. So that ended my lightweight days. When I moved to California, I discovered merlot, shiraz and driving through wine country. Back here in Arizona, I don’t drink a glass with every meal any more — it’s the occasional Yellow Tail shiraz. So I’m back to being a lightweight like you. Although I heard Arizona has wine country somewhere here too so I probably should go check that out — maybe for a Wordless Wednesday, :).
It’s a rare occasion when I drink wine with a meal. Used to, but rarely anymore. I do like my champagne though. It’s a good thing. I would love to share a glass of wine with you. 🙂
It would be fun. Tea too. Building that look mansions like your picture always make think of British teatime.
Breathtaking <3 Pawkisses for a wonderful day 🙂 <3
It is indeed. Pawkisses back and you have a wonderful day too. 🙂
Very impressive looking place.
There are a lot of impressive looking wineries in the wine country. 🙂
Looks like a nice place to have a wine.
It is a very good place for some wine. 🙂
Dear Sandee,
thanks most sincerely for hosting!
Wishing you a beautiful remainder of your week,
I’m sending blessings across the many miles
XOXO Daniela at ~ My little old world ~ (Dany)
You are most welcome, Dany. You have a great week too. 🙂
Sandee,
Impressive. Can you imagine living in a place like this if it were a home? I always marvel over how fancy some houses are not that most I’ve seen suit me but still amazed by the living arrangements. I’m just a down to earth kind of gal, I reckon. I prefer a cozier home environment. Thanks for hosting the mid-week fun!
No I can’t. It would be far too big for me too. I’m a down to earth kind of gal too, Cathy. 🙂
I think i would like to visit a wimery. I am a tee-totaler, but I do find this interesting, beautiful, and historical. Thanks, Sandee. You never disappoint! Hugs! Happy WW!
You don’t have to drink to enjoy the wine country. It’s a magical [place. 🙂
Goodness, what a gorgeous place. Wouldn’t that be fun to visit and see. Sandee, you and Zane have one heck of a day.
We have visited many wineries in the wine country. They are fun to explore. 🙂
Wow! That is gorgeous. I want to take SO to California wine country but doubt it will happen now. But I’ll take early retirement over travel. By the way, the link doesn’t quite work. I did find it, though: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domaine_Carneros
Don’t work a day longer than you have to. Traveling is very expensive. Thanks for the link. I changed it to the one you provided. 🙂
What a lovely place and needs no words!
Happy Week to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
In the summer these wineries are filled with people coming and going. 🙂
Who cares about the building? Bring on the vino.
I’ll have a glass or two with you. 🙂
That is a nice looking building. Have a great day. 🙂
The grounds around a winery are so beautiful. So very well manicured. 🙂
Very impressive looking, a regal place indeed, that just makes you just stop and stare.
Most of the big wineries make you stop and stare. They really take pride in how they look. 🙂
Wow that looks very posh love the building 🙂
Have a poshtastic WWS 👿
They are very posh too. The big wineries at any rate. 🙂
That’s a magnificent building and garden…can’t help but wonder how many work to make it look perfect. Hope you have a wonderful day, Sandee!
There are a lot of folks that work at these wineries to keep them looking great. 🙂
I’m not surprised.
Such an amazing building. It’s beautiful. I wonder if it’s the offices or if it’s the vintner’s stately home?! Have a fabulous day, Sandee!
More than likely no one lives here. Offices and other things occupy these great wineries. 🙂
can you imagine living there? wowee…what a amazing building….
Only if I had staff to keep the place up. I sure couldn’t do it myself. 🙂
Amazing!! It looks like a puzzle 🙂
I would enjoy doing this puzzle.
I love doing puzzles too. We could do this one together. 🙂
Wow, what a beautiful place.
I’m sure you’ve visited the wine country since you’re so close. Lots of things to do and see. 🙂
Hi Sandee, don’t stone me, but it’s a ittle too neat and tidy for my liking. It looks like to need aging!
xx
No stoning here. We all have our opinions and I’m good with that. There are many that are perfect like this one. 🙂
OMG I’ve been here on several occasions! It’s less than 40 minutes from my house and it has some of the best sparkling wine I’ve ever tasted.
Domaine Carneros is a beautiful Winery.
Great picture Sandee
I love sparkling wine. It is a beautiful winery indeed, Mary. 🙂
Wow, what a gorgeous building and gardens. That looks like the perfect way to spend a day 🙂
You can visit winery after winery in the Napa valley. Many are beautiful just like this one. 🙂
Wow! Make that a quilters’ retreat, and I’m there! I was just thinking last night that I should never go on a wine tour. My first thought after tasting a new bottle of wine last night was that it tasted like fermented cat pee. I might just say a thought like that out loud if I wasn’t careful, and after several glasses of wine, well….
I’ve never had fermented cat pee. You’re much braver than I. You’re right though, after a couple of glasses the wine becomes very good. 🙂
Real fermented cat pee? No. But it kind of smells like it so it must be. I paid good money for it so I’m drinking it.
I must be old because I’m thinking, What a beautiful photo followed by, too many stairs.
There are other ways in than those stairs. I’m not doing those stairs either. 🙂
I thought that too! Along with: Is that a tunnel? I want to explore the tunnel!
Wow! Spectacular photo! And, I l love your background photos…they’re great. 🙂
Have a super great day, Sandee. 🙂
Thanks, Ann. Are you referring to my headers? There are six of them if you are. I thought they were most cute. 🙂
Yes, I love them…I think I went through all of them, but now, I’m excited about fact that you have more! Great job, Sandee, really! :))))
♥♥♥
I wish I was there, instead of here, chained to a computer. Thanks for adding Marv! I am really late today!!!
Love
Barb
I’ll always add Marv if you’re busy. I hope you get your project done soon. 🙂
Wow, what a wee house. I like this one. I could run up and down the stairs and have tons of fun.
We added our name to the others. We can do them all but Friday….that one is hard to do for us.
Have an awesome day.
Shoko
Thanks for adding yourself to today’s fun. You can do as little or as much as you want. It’s all good. I’ll let you do the stairs. Just saying. 🙂
Architecturally speaking, I’m not sure that the building is worthy of the landscape. Your eye is led through the manicured plantings to a somewhat lackluster structure. You almost expect to see something on the scale and grandeur of Buckingham Palace at the end of that garden. Just sayin’.
Well what do I know. I think it’s a great look but I’m no pro. I know nothing about architecture. 🙂
What a delightful looking place!
I think so too. It’s one of the few I’ve not visited. I need to correct that since they specialize in sparkling wine. I like sparkling wine. 🙂
A squirrel face palm seemed appropo according to Seymour…
We both know that Seymour is always right. You won’t admit that, but you know it’s true. 🙂
On something like this, I defer as opposed to argue 😉 Oh and embedded right or wrong, I’m ready for Feline Friday…
Copy that. 🙂
Looks like quite an estate.
There are many of these neat wineries in the wind country of California. 🙂
Very beautiful place! Love the neatly trimmed hedges and the steps leading to the building! Very Impressive!
Some of these wineries look magical, like this one. 🙂
It’s huge! I bet they give a lovely grounds tour!
I don’t know about the grounds tour, but the winery tours are fun. 🙂
That winery is a place I’m hoping to visit when I’m in California! Have you been? If you have any tips for exploring northern California, I would love to hear them! <3.
I’ve been to the wine country many times, but I really don’t have any tips. I’m not the traveler like you are. 🙂
Well, are there any wineries you particularly enjoy? Did you like this one (Domaine Carneros)?
Hope you have a wonderful Friday! 🙂
It reminds me of the Great Gatsby or meet Joe Black! Super cool 🙂
I hadn’t thought of that. Now I am. 🙂
The groundskeepers keep busy @ Domaine Carneros.
Yes they do. There are many wineries that look this manicured. 🙂
Oh wow….what a beautiful place.
These are sights you see in the wine country often. There are so many wonderful wineries to visit. 🙂
Amazing building! I love wineries and going to wine tastings.
Hubby and I used to do this often. Not so much anymore. It was most fun. Then there was our favorite cheese factory that we always enjoyed having lunch. 🙂
Looks like a great place to visit. 😉
Almost every winery is a great place to visit in the wine country. 🙂
lovely post 🙂
Thank you very much. 🙂
