WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.
For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Iceland Arctic Fox
The Arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus), also known as the white fox, polar fox, or snow fox, is a small fox native to the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere and common throughout the Arctic tundra biome. It is well adapted to living in cold environments, and is best known for its thick, warm fur that is also used as camouflage. It has a large and very fluffy tail. In the wild, most individuals do not live past their first year but some exceptional ones survive up to 11 years. Its body length ranges from 46 to 68 cm (18 to 27 in), with a generally rounded body shape to minimize the escape of body heat.
The Arctic fox preys on many small creatures such as lemmings, voles, ringed seal pups, fish, waterfowl, and seabirds. It also eats carrion, berries, seaweed, and insects and other small invertebrates. Arctic foxes form monogamous pairs during the breeding season and they stay together to raise their young in complex underground dens. Occasionally, other family members may assist in raising their young. Natural predators of the Arctic fox are golden eagles, Arctic wolves, polar bears, wolverines, red foxes, and grizzly bears. Nice informative post Sandee (that’s a big word for me) 🙂
Have an icelesstastic week and WWS 👍
You crack me up, Steve. 🙂
I’ve never heard of an arctic fox before. It’s gorgeous.
I hadn’t either, but it’s sure cute. 🙂
What a gorgeous being. Cuddly-wuddly too. Lol!
Thanks for sharing all the information. I have heard of Artic foxes but haven’t read so much in details about them. This was fun Sandee, dearest,
Hugs and kisses xoxo
Happy Weds.
Hmm, cuddly-wuddly “looking,” but still a wild animal. Beautiful, but dangerous, even when young. 😉
I’ve seen more dangerous than this. Humans, but of course!
Handled snakes and been up close and personal with forest carnivores.
No one’s gets as dangerous as humans do, that’s why this planet has been shredded to pieces and the wildlife populations has taken a sordid brunt.
I knew what you meant, Natasha. You’re such a loving person. I get you. 🙂
Sandee, you do get me totally don’t you. Thanks for always understanding and your loving words. 🙂 Hugs, hugs.
I know I do get sensitive when it comes to nature and wildlife. I am super protective about them and their needs.
I am too, sweetie. Love you. 🙂
Natasha is a gentle soul that loves everything and everyone. I know she wouldn’t get near, but it does look cuddly. 🙂
They are cute indeed. Hugs and kisses back. Happy Wordless Wednesday. 🙂
We have seen them on TV. Pretty cool little fox they are.
I hadn’t seen them before, but they sure are cute. 🙂
Glad I learned more about the Arctic fox.
Have a great day!
That makes two of us, Amila. 🙂
What a beauty he is!
He is indeed. Happy Wednesday, Miss Molly. 🙂
That’s interesting that an Eagle is one of his natural predators. Cute little fella. I’d hate to see an eagle (or anything) get him.
Have a happy WW.
Someone is always the prey and someone is always the predator. Happy WW and thank you for playing along. 🙂
So cute!
I agree Goddess Athena. 🙂
Looks cuddly and cute, but if I was in the wilderness and ran across one, I probably wouldn’t feel that way, lol. Alana ramblinwitham
I never mess with wild animals, but many are so cute. 🙂
Oh, now I want a fox brofur!!! Thank you for posting this and where can I find a fox brofur?!?
Merlin
I don’t know where you can find a fox brofur. 🙂
Aww, what a little cutie. From that write-up, it sounds like they are only about the size of a housecat.I didn’t expect that! Thank you for hosting, Sandee. Happy Wordless Wednesday!a
Doesn’t look very big at all. Cute though. Happy wordless Wednesday. 🙂
Snowy Owls also feast on lemmings, and right now, the young owls who don’t have established territories in the Arctic and Canada have flown as far south as southeastern Michigan; lots of folks have taken photos of them near us!
You have to do what you have to do to survive. Happy Wordless Wednesday. 🙂
I guess they like the snow a lot more than I do.
I hear you, Binky. I’m not a fan of snow either. 🙂
What a gorgeous animal, Sandee! Thank you for the write-up! Happy Wednesday!
You’re most welcome, Eugenia. Happy Wednesday. 🙂

Thank you, Carol. You and Angel have a fabulous day. Love and hugs to you both. 🙂
if this precious pup laid down in the snow we would not even know he was there, unless he had his eyes open.
You’re right about that. Blends right in. 🙂
Such a beautiful cutie!
Yes indeed and I didn’t know they existed. 🙂
He’s amazing!!!

The only protection is the color, I suppose!
Happy WW, dear friend! Cheers and a fine week!❤️
You’re most welcome, Suzana. Happy WW to you too. Happy week to you too, my friend. 🙂
It’s sad that so few survive past their first year, but not surprising when I look at the list of predators who like to eat them. I wonder if their little paws get cold…
Surviving is a hard thing for much of our wildlife. 🙂
Simply beautiful and so different from the naughty little red ones that hang around my place!
Yes indeed, Keith. Have a great rest of the week. 🙂
Acompact fighting and devouring machine.
Yes indeed. So cute though. 🙂
How beautiful!
I agree with you, Yvonne. 🙂
It is beautiful, but sad they don’t often live beyond a year.
It is sad indeed. Many wild young ones don’t survive. 🙂
Oh what a sweet share! Thanks for always being so terrific. Now I am hugnry for your pizza hahaha that is one of my very favorites. HUGS across the miles
With Covid we learned how to make lots of different things that we used to go out to eat. It’s a good thing. Love and hugs. 🙂
Nature can be cruel . Such a cutie though. Those little sweet paws. My friend in Alaska has these fancy doggies and they wear snowsuits with built in boots. hahaha because it is below freezing these days in the cold, snowy place where they live. Thank you for being here.
Nature can be cruel indeed. Thank you for linking up today, Anne. Love and hugs. 🙂
What an interesting and adorable little cutie!
Yes indeed. So cute. Scritches to the pups. 🙂

I was happy to help, Marie. I check your blog often to see if you have a draft post so I can help you with it. Blogger is most difficult though. It used to be so simple. 🙂
Sandy, one more thing… sorry! I don’t know what I did, but I tried to answer what you said on my blog, but it didn’t work. What did I do wrong? Thanks!
Let me go check. 🙂
What a beautiful animal but I don’t think I’d want to meet him in purrson!
Purrs & Head Bonks,
Alberto
He may be small, but I bet it could bring a lot of hurt. 🙂

I guess it’s been so long since I’ve been here I forgot everything. I hope these dam pills will start helping me. The doctor gave me something to help. I’m here balling like a little kid, and I can’t remember sqwat. I just don’t know what to do. I don’t want to quit something I love doing so much, but I’m sure all my friends are really getting angry with me. If there’s something you could do for me today I’d really really appreciate it. Thanks honey we’ll talk soon. Luv U
I don’t know if you’ll get this, but if you can make some sort of blog for me it’s Sunday night and I cannot get in there and I’m sitting here blubbering like a little kid. I thought for sure I could do it. I was so happy today being for sure things were fine, but guess what I don’t know who I was kidding, but guess I was kidding me. You see I’ve been very forgetful lately and I went to the doctor, and he’s got me doing these excercises and my daughter comes over once a week to do my pills, and the doctor has me doing excercises and I’m taking these drugs I HATE THIS. Guess I’ll call Cathy tomorrow and tell her what’s really going on. I love my blog, and I love the music game we play DAM I CAN’T even remember the program we do. I’m so sorry Sandy I don’t know what to do. Guess I’ll go to bed and I will talk tomorrow to you. Goodnite.. luv u and thank you for your help. hugs
I’ll fix up a post for you. Stand by, sweetie. Love you. 🙂
