It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Today I’m thankful for my central heat. It’s cold outside and it’s a comfort to be warm.
I’m thankful that hubby and I read with each other every afternoon. It’s something we look forward to. No phones or any other electronics, just the quiet of us reading our current book.
I’m thankful for another holiday season to enjoy with family and friends.
I’m thankful for all the birds that come to eat from the feeders we provide and love watching them take their baths in our fountain. If they require anything they will sit on our fence outside our great room and sing to us. They never sing to us if all is well.
What are you thankful for today?
I would have trouble reading with no electronics since all my reading is done from my kindle. Sometimes it’s nice though to shut everything off and just sit with a good book
Well they don’t make noise or bother you, so they don’t count right? Happy Thursday. 🙂
Good point! I’m thankful for getting in a nice amount of writing toward my National Novel Writing Month goal before driving my husband to the barbershop and splitting a nice steak dinner as reward. 🙂 Stay warm!
Oh boy, a steak dinner. That’s what we’re having for Thanksgiving. Filet Mignon, potatoes and gravy, broccoli and garlic bread. I can’t wait. Stay warm too, Darla. 🙂
I am also thankful for our fans and air-conditioners to keep us cool when the weather is hot. Also thankful for the birds that visit our garden even though they feed on some of my edibles. I love to hear them sing.
It’s hot here too in the summer. It’s good to be cool in the hot weather and warm in the cold weather. I love hearing the birds sing too. 🙂
I would love to sit and read just for pure enjoyment. I’m trying to find a way to quit burning the candle at both ends. It’s easier said than done.
I so remember burning the candles at both ends. Your day will come and you’ll enjoy the slower pace. 🙂
We are thankful for a nice warm home and books to read too.
Yes those are great things to be thankful for, Miss Molly. 🙂
We are thankful for a nice house with heat, and in the winter our favorite thing when we are home in the evenings is to sit in front of the fireplace and get toasted. Enjoy the season of snuggling!
Yes that’s a good place to be in the evenings. Our kitties and puppies have always enjoyed the same thing. 🙂
I’m thankful for heat and all my books! 📚🤗 ((Hugs))
Yes on both of those. I hate being to hot or to cold. Hugs back. 🙂
Do you have sunflower seeds in your bird feeder? If so, I’ll be right over.
I have sunflower seeds just for you, Kismet. 🙂
I’m thankful for my cruise because I can’t wait for the Caribbean where it will be sunny and hot especially since we got this snow and cold weather in early November. Can’t wait for January. See ya Sandee.
Cruisin Paul
I know you love your cruises. We didn’t care for them, but many do. 🙂
We used to read together as a family. We all enjoyed the time so much. I forget why we stopped doing it.
We’ve been doing it for years. It’s such a nice way to be together in the evening. 🙂
So thankful the weather has been in the 50’s and 60’s this week. Our walks have been completely wonderful without having to bundle up like an Eskimo.
We’re in the upper 60s and I’m happy about that. Cold at night though. 🙂
It’s so glorious during the day though!
I agree with you – central heat and holidays – I am thankful for those too.
Yes on all of those. We are so fortunate. 🙂
I am thankful for my warm winter coats and the plethora of scarves that I’ve accumulated…it’s cold out there!
Yes on that. If’ you’re going out you need to be warm. 🙂
Morning Sandee
I too am very thankful for my birds. Just came in from filling up the feeders before our rain event today.
Such a great variety too.
Hugs Cecilia
I was just watching our birds a few minutes ago. We still have a lot of hummingbirds. 🙂
Yes, I’m thank for central heat and air. Also, very thankful for our fireplace!
We have a fireplace too, but it’s gas and it’s pretty to watch. 🙂
Lovely that you and hubby make a special time to read together each day… That’s a beautiful thing! Thankful for my hubby too–he’s a keeper. He’ cuts and piles wood from downed trees each year–keeping hearth and home cozy and warm. So much to be thankful for…. 🙂
We have our schedules and it’s a wonderful thing. Yes, so much to be thankful for. 🙂
We are super thankful for the warm heat too! Yep, the Dad and Mom both read mostly on their Kindle app. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
It’s still quiet. To many electronic noise most of the time. Thank you for hosting Thankful Thursday. 🙂
I am so thankful that my sweetie is healing quickly from what could have been a disaster.Have a lovely day!
I’m happy about that too. You have a lovely day too, Kathe. Love and hugs. 🙂
Just spending quiet time together is wonderful.
Have a great Thankful Thursday!
Yes it is. Hubby and I have a wonderful life together. 🙂
Everyday I wake up is a blessing to me because I know that another one is never promised.
Exactly. I feel the very same way. 🙂
I’m with you on Central Heat.
Heavenly isn’t it. Yes it is. 🙂
All good things to be thankful for – good food, good company, good books, heaters in the cold weather.
Happy Thursday! ♥
Yes on all those things. Happy Thursday, Barbara. 🙂
I totally agree about the central heat thankfulness! The house we first lived in here, on the coast, just had a wall unit and a wood burning stove…It’s been sooooo nice to have warm air pumped throughout the house!
It makes a difference. I remember not having central heat and air. It was tough. 🙂
some glad to have central heat also ~ Brrrr ~ didn’t think it got cold where you ~ Great thankful list ~
Xox to you from me and Zoe ^_^
Happy Day to You,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
It does, but nothing like your cold. We don’t have all that much in winter clothes. We go from short sleeve and shorts to long sleeve and long pants and a jacket. From sandals to shoes and sock. Not much. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂
Wonderful things to be thankful for. XO
They are indeed and there are so many things I’m thankful for. 🙂
Reading together sounds so relaxing and sweet. We are still in that phase of life that makes your afternoon reading sound like nirvana!
It’s one of the nicest things we do together each day. 🙂
Sandee, such wonderful for which to be thankful. I like your afternoon reading habit. Hugs, Janet
Hubby and I are two peas in a pod. We’re like you and Tom. 🙂
Cute story about the birds; singing for their supper. 😀 I too am grateful for central heat, especially since we had record-breaking snowfalls and cold temps. this week!
They really do. If they are on the fence and talking to us we know they need some birdseed. 🙂
The picture in mind of you and your husband reading together makes my heart happy! What are you reading now? Anything good you can share?
It’s a wonderful time of the day. Every single day and no matter if we’re home or on our boat. I’m currently reading Blue Moon by Lee Child. It’s a Jack Reacher book and he’s ever so entertaining. 🙂
I’d rather hold a book, but my eyes won’t cooperate. So nook it is!
We do what we have to do when we get older. Lots of changes to endure, but endure them we do. 🙂
Reading together and watching the birds together, what a lovely way to spend part of each day!
Yes indeed. We do enjoy being together. We’re both lucky. 🙂
What a nice routine you and your hubby have! I just put my bird feeders out today. I love watching the birds but because of bears we can’t have any out until after they hibernate (with this weather, hopefully they have already done so). I also have to find the perfect spot for them so that neither Luke nor our own birds will eat all the seed. LOL
Yes, hubby and I have worked out a wonderful routine together. Together is the operative word. Scritches and lovies to Luke. 🙂
