Silly Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs. The rules are simple, just have fun.
This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process. Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!
My Parents Taught Me:
Most of our generation were HOME SCHOOLED in many ways.
My father taught me the CIRCLE OF LIFE.
“I brought you into this world, and I can take you out.”
My mother taught me about BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION
“Stop acting like your father!”
My mother taught me about ENVY.
“There are millions of less fortunate children in this world who don’t have wonderful parents like you do.”
My mother taught me about ANTICIPATION.
“Just wait until we get home.”
My mother taught me about RECEIVING.
“You are going to get it from your father when you get home!”
My mother taught me MEDICAL SCIENCE.
“If you don’t stop crossing your eyes, they are going to get stuck that way.”
My mother taught me ESP.
“Put your sweater on; don’t you think I know when you are cold?”
My father taught me HUMOR.
“When that lawn mower cuts off your toes, don’t come running to me.”
My mother taught me HOW TO BECOME AN ADULT.
“If you don’t eat your vegetables, you’ll never grow up.”
My mother taught me GENETICS.
“You’re just like your father.”
My mother taught me about my ROOTS.
“Shut that door behind you. Do you think you were born in a barn?”
My mother taught me WISDOM.
“When you get to be my age, you’ll understand.
My father taught me about JUSTICE.
“One day you’ll have kids, and I hope they turn out just like you!”

My parents didn't teach all these lessons but quite a few of them. The worst part was when I caught myself saying some of them….lol
I know, I used some of them too. I hated hearing them when I was growing up. đŸ™‚
Those are such great sayings and most of them are so true. Love the HUMOR one. Sandee, you and Zane have a fantastic Sunday.
Yep, parents were much alike back in the day. đŸ™‚
Heeheehee! Yep, especially on having kids just like me. Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday!
I think I did have a kid just like me. Serves me right. đŸ™‚
I like the esp one đŸ™‚ Have a great day! đŸ™‚
Yep, they are all pretty good. đŸ™‚
When I was a hatchling I said "I hope when I have kids, I'll won't be as mean as you".
I'm sure that's exactly what you said Kismet. đŸ™‚
those sound somehow familiar.
Yep, we all got to hear some or all of these at one time or another. đŸ™‚
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes I believe I was taught each and every one of these!!!!! xoxoxo
I think my parents used them all too. đŸ™‚
My mom had a lot of those, I had no father, a good one was clean your plate, there are kids in china starving, like we could send them our food
I remember that one. I also remember thinking then send this slop to China. I only thought it though. đŸ™‚
Lessons for a lifetime.
They sure are Timothy. đŸ™‚
I think every child has experienced that anticipation part "Just wait until we get home"
I did the anticipation part many times. Too many times. đŸ™‚
Apparently I never grew up… Vegetables are so gross! LOL!
I love veggies. My great granddaughter loves them too. She always wants asparagus when she come to grammies house. đŸ™‚
The sweater one, oh my gosh I think I have said something like that to my kids!
I think I've said that one too. đŸ™‚
These are hilarious, and the anticipation one "Just wait until we get home" had me laughing the hardest! đŸ™‚
My mother and father used this one on us kids a lot. đŸ™‚
Your kids teach you the biggest lessons.
They sure do Binky. đŸ™‚
"Just wait until we get home." sounds veeeeeerrrrrry familiar. LOL
I think most parents have used this and I'm guessing they still are. đŸ™‚
And I thought this was southern wisdom! I guess parents are parents everywhere. Haha.
Big hugs, honey…
It5 was southern wisdom. We were both taught the same thing. đŸ™‚
Hi Sandee, the lessons we learn without realizing it! When I point out one of mine are acting like their Dad, they soon stop. If it works then I'll use it.
xx
There are all kinds of ways to get your kids to pay attention and straighten up. You found your way it appears. đŸ™‚
hahahah my dad used to say that to my brothers!
Parents are so alike aren't they. The goods ones at any rate. đŸ™‚
