My pet rock Seymour is convinced that every time I try untangling Christmas tree light strings that I am creating new, never-before-heard words in the English language. I’m sure I’m not…
Seymour knows every bad word there is. I know that first hand. 🙂
Bless the person who came up with trees with the lights built in!
Amen to that. Happy Tuesday. 🙂
Yep, when I was a kid you either ate what was in front of you or you didn’t eat. I didn’t have to sit there till my plate was clean but I didn’t get anything else if I didn’t finish.
That was the way it was when I was growing up too. 🙂
Oscar Wilde apparently had much classier enemies than I do.
And I’m sure he would have told Camus to save the energy.
I hear you. Happy Tuesday. 🙂
Mom loves the first and last ones. As a kid she spent a lot of time sitting at the table because she refused to eat her peas, LOL! Now she eats peas all the time.
There were things I didn’t like either and I wouldn’t eat whatever it was. I love peas too. 🙂
The first one is so true for me. If you didn’t eat your dinner – you didn’t get dessert! My mom wasn’t the best cook but she was the dessert baker!
Dessert is the best part of a meal. Just my two cents. 🙂
I always enjoy these little truisms. It makes me realize how much we are all alike. Thanks for hunting them down.
We are more alike than not. I agree. 🙂
Those were good! Our Dad says he had that same menu growing up.
I think most of us had that menu growing up. 🙂
I love the quote by, Maya Angelou! Happy Tuesday!
Me too. Happy Tuesday, my friend. 🙂
❤️
Good ones, especially the one from Maya Angelou. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
I agree, Ellen. Happy Tuesday, my friend. 🙂
Sandee these are gems!!! all 4
Mama had a favorite:
I would ask to do something and I was told No, I would reply ‘but everyone else is doing it”.
Mama’s comeback was, “If everyone was jumping off a roof would you do that too?”
Hugs and Happy Tuesday
Cecilia
Sounds like our moms were on the same page. I remember that very conversation. Hugs and Happy Tuesday, Cecilia. 🙂
Happy Tuesday! These were fun to read. <3
I’m glad you enjoyed them, Barbara. 🙂
We need to save our energy, and let ourselves be WEIRD!
Yes and yes. 🙂
Those are great.
And true too. Happy Tuesday, Sharon. 🙂
How interesting Buddy Hackett had the same menu as me as kid! lol
Same here, Cathy. My mom made great dinners though. I was lucky. 🙂
Classic LOL ~ fun for Tuesday ~ thanks,
Lots of hugs and love to you from me and Ziggy ~ Xos
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Classic for sure. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. Happy Birthday, Carol. 🙂
Yap, the 4th one is so true.
It sure is. Thanks for playing along, Klara. 🙂
I was lucky. You cant mess up bird seed for dinner. You can but you really have to work on messing it up.
You are lucky, Kismet. I love you. 🙂
that first one was my family exactly!!! Happy Tuesday!!
Mine too, Caren. It was the way it was. Happy Tuesday. 🙂
Hee, hee…the take it or leave it rule was big in my house growing up and worked well on my own kids. Gotta love it when kids will eat anything that isn’t nailed down instead of some of the more picky kids these days going on about gluten, dairy-free, GMOs etc. 😆 Happy Tuesday.
It sure was when I was growing up. Mom made some wonderful meals though and she knew what us kids didn’t like. She was good not to serve many of them. Happy Tuesday. Hug to you and scritches to Elsa. 🙂
Your mom could have been my mom’s sister. 😉
Thank you for prioritizing happiness and for making us happy too! Aloha!
You’re most welcome, Cloudia. Scritches to Pixie. 🙂
How people handle slow internet is another “tell.” Thanks for the laughs, i hope you and Mr. Zane are having a blessed week.
Yes indeed. You and Mr. Sweetie have a blessed week too. 🙂
What wonderful Memes today…so true!!
Thanks for the Tuesday giggles!
Yes indeed. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
I love the Camus quote…
Me too, Lydia. Happy Tuesday. 🙂
Good ones! The last is perfect to make new discoveries about friends!
Thank you, Sandee!
Have a fine day! Hugs!❤️😘
You’re most welcome, Suzana. I loved your post today. Hugs. 🙂
Remember the days when Blogville would host hops and there would be a 100 or more animal blogs joining in? Are the days of the dog-cat-etc blogs ending? I sure hope not, wish our missing blogging friends would return
I hear you. Many left to do Facebook. I miss many too. 🙂
A rainy day: I either cook and bake or clean the house then cuddle in front of the TV with the dogs.
Lost luggage: Hasn’t happened
Tangled tree lights: I drive the 5 minutes to the nearest Ace Hardware and buy more.
How about you?
I love your approach on the Christmas tree lights. Good job. 🙂
All of those are great. Happy Tuesday!
They are indeed. Happy Tuesday, Yvonne. 🙂
Maya can add how people behave when they drive, and when the internet goes out as well. I’ve never seen such big babies when the latter happens.
You’re right about those two things indeed. Happy day, my friend. 🙂
I love the Oscar Wilde quote. Have a blessed weekend, my friend. Hubby & I will be at a local B&B celebrating our 35th anniversary.❤️.🎉.🤗
Happy Anniversary to you and hubby. Hugs. 🙂
That Buddy Hackett quote was definitely how it was when we were growing up!
That’s how it was at our house too. 🙂
Sorry I wasn’t in on this today I was a bit under the weather. I woke up with my leg all swollen & pulsating, and I had a mess of calls to make like my cpap machine broke. grrr I was so angry! So another sleepless night cuz they didn’t answer the phone. Called the doctor & he called them personally, so I think they’re coming tomorrow. ~sigh~ Guess I’ll stay up tonite & when I do that I usually sleep very lightly all morning & then up by noon! That’s okay I’ll be busy at Dave’s hahahaha! LOVE YOU MY SISTA! HUGS
Sorry you’re not feeling as good as you’d like. I pray for you. Love you, Sister. 🙂
Anytime that you can quote Buddy Hackett it is a good day.
I loved him too. Funny man. 🙂
The best comedy is based in truth. lol Be well, my dear.
That’s so very true. Be well, too. 🙂
