A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more. The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, “You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time.”
The cowboy replies, “Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is an Airborne Ranger, the other is a Navy Seal, both serving overseas somewhere. When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we’d drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I’m drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself.”
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there. The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, “I don’t want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss.”
The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs. “Oh, no, everybody’s just fine,” he explains, “It’s just that my wife and I joined the Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking.” “Hasn’t affected my brothers though.”

Black Bean Clams with Two Noodles – Zucchini noodles and shelf-stable stir-fry noodles combine for a hearty portion in this healthy stir-fry recipe. Chinese fermented black beans (they’re actually soybeans) lend a salty and savory backbone to this quick veggie-filled entree. They’re pungent, so a little goes a long way. Find them at Asian grocery stores, well-stocked supermarkets and online. Image Credit and Recipe: Click on Image

Heeheehee! Now i wonder if he’s going to get three rounds of two instead of two rounds of three. After all, he quit so he should have an extra for each of his brothers instead.
Never thought of mixing zucchini noodles with regular noodles. That would be tasty.
I think he’ll figure that out at some point.
I thought the dish sounded really good. It sure looks good. 🙂
Good one about the cowboy. Thanks for the laugh.
I’m not a fan of clams but I admit that looks really good.
You’re most welcome, Ann. Let’s try that dish together. 🙂

One of my blogging buddies sent it to me and thought it was cute. You have a great day too, Marg. 🙂
That’s some clever cowboy!
Yes he is and he knows how to continue to have his beer. 🙂
Weirdness qualifies? I am in! Nice dish but not for my breakfast. Never heard that joke before, and I thought I have heard them all by now!
Anything goes around here as long as you’re having fun. I wouldn’t want this dish for breakfast either, dinner yes. I’m glad at least one of you hasn’t heard this joke before. 🙂
That was funny, it took me a few seconds to get it though 🙂 Thanks for hosting. XO
I’m glad you got the joke, Ellen. You’re most welcome on the hosting. I enjoy it so. 🙂

Clever joke, and the food looks irresistible!

Happy Day to you,

aka (A Creative Harbor)
Yes on both counts, Carol. Scritches and lovies to Ms. Zoe. Happy day to you both. 🙂
I had heard that joke before, but I had forgotten the punch line. Happens to me all the time. My husband’s love of that dish came to a screeching halt when he read “soybean clams.” As a New Hampshire yankee, he’d rather go hungry than eat fake clams. Me, on the other hand, think that’s a good feature so I’ll have his portion 😉
I agree with your hubby, but I would eat this. Far better for you I would thing. We could share it together. 🙂
Well for goodness sake, hahahahhaa That one surprised me and made me laugh. 🙂
I thought it was ever so clever. It’s how we think when we want to get around something. 🙂
haha That’s a funny little story! I didn’t see the ending coming at all.
Happy to have you as a blogging friend, Sandee! 🙂 <3
I’m happy to have you as a blogging friend too. I’m met so many wonderful people since I moved to WordPress. 🙂
Those clams look yummy.
One of my favorite dishes. 🙂
Thanks for posting for me yesterday. I did not get a chance to do one today…hopefully for Wordless Wednesday!
I know you’re busy with work. Too busy and Marv thinks so too. 🙂
Now, that’s funny! Seems you can always find a way around everything one way or another! LOL! 😀
Yes there is always a way around something if you think hard enough. Clever cowboy. 🙂
Thanks, Sandee for helping me to link up with Happy Tuesday. The clams with mixed noodles looks delicious!
You’re most welcome, Nancy. Your post was most fun. 🙂
Good one! Thanks for the chuckles.
You’re most welcome, Eugenia. 🙂
Haha! I like that joke. I am going to tell my husband that one.
Have a great day 🙂
I hope he likes it. Good clean fun. You have a great day too, Jen. 🙂
I would have thought it was linguini and clams but this sounds much more interesting.
I thought it sounded very good. Let’s share some. Wine too. 🙂
