Friendly Fill-ins
Each Thursday Ellen of 15andmeowing and Lorianne of Four-Legged Furballs, provide Friendly Fill-in questions.
Ellen came up with the first two questions and Lorianne came up with the last two questions.
If you need help, please let either Ellen or Lorianne know.
Here are this weeks questions:
1. The grossest food I ever ate was __________.
2. The best tasting food I ever had was _________.
3. I should probably _________, but I won’t.
4. If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would pick ______.
Here are my answers:
1. The grossest food I ever ate was split pea soup. That stuff is gross.
2. The best tasting food I ever had was Chateaubriand at the Carnelian Room on the 52nd floor of the Bank of America building in San Francisco. It was my 30th birthday.

What a lovely basket of sweetness!
The grossest thing I ever ate was a snail. We were on a cruise years ago and everyone was having l’escargot apart from me. I was persuaded to try just one and it was the most revolting thing ever!!
I love escargot. Some places don’t know how to prepare it though. Happy weekend, Jackie. 🙂
The basket of kittens is beyond adorable! My daughter would agree with you on the split pea soup. She hates peas☺ I agree with you on toilet paper. I always have extra!
I tried split pea soup. Yuk. Happy weekend, Miss Molly. 🙂
That is one basket full of cuteness. I want one.
I think the grossest food I ever had was oysters. Those things are disgusting.
Limitless supply of one item? I really can’t think of what I would want.
I don’t like oysters either. Slimy. Glad you’re doing well. Big hug. 🙂
Aww! What cute kittens heheh!
I enjoyed your fill-ins Sandee a couple did make me laugh too 🧻
Have a papertastic week and FFS 👍
I like it when I make you laugh, Steve. Happy weekend. 🙂
What a cute filled basket, Sandee. I couldn’t start the weekend much better than that😻 Your toilet papurr answer was purrfect, and the first one delicious…licks paws…I would go for that cut beef too, in fact I have one slice effurry day lately…MOL…In our Country they eat split pea soup effurry Winter, I don’t know if it’s a traditional Dutch food, but Granny doesn’t like it either, especially because it’s also filled with fatty bacon…Yikes!
Thank you for bringing your heartwarming purrayers and Pawkisses to our bloggie, dear Sandee. It’s good to have furriends like you💗Extra Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞
I love you and granny, Little Binky and want the very best to you both. Pawkisses to you and a hug to Granny. 🙂
awe! How cute! xo
I thought so too. 🙂
That’s a basket full of sweet trouble there.
It was in my mind to say toilet paper, too. That was a mess.
You and Mr. Zane have a great weekend. Hugs!
No pun intended on the mess? You made me laugh out loud.
You and Mr. Sweetie have a great weekend too. Hugs. 🙂
What a sweet basket of kitties. Mom always has tons of toilet paper so that shortage didn’t cause us any problems.
We have a lot now, but we didn’t when we couldn’t find it. Frightening. 🙂
Such cute kittens! Those were good answers, yes, TP sure is important!
We had so little TP. It was frightening. 🙂
Adorable kittens. Thanks for hosting Feline Friday and for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I have never had that meal, but it sounds good. I am not a fan of split pea soup either. I think we all learned how important toilet paper is in 2020. Have a wonderful weekend. XO
It was delicious and they prepared it table side. A wonderful experience. You have a wonderful weekend too. 🙂
OMG…what a cute basket! Great fill ins. I hope you have a great weekend!
Triple digit weather right now so we’re staying home this weekend. It’s all good. 🙂
Cute kitties! I’m in total agreement with the last two fill-ins. Have a great week-end!
We are so alike, Patricia. 🙂
Mom loves split pea soup, it must be how it is made that makes a difference. We always have a ton of toilet paper on hand around here as Mom never wants to run low and this came in handy when it was suddenly in short supply and we had a closet full.
I have tried it and it made me gag. Pea Soup Andersen’s so it was supposed to be the best. 🙂
Lovely basket 🙂
Yes indeed. 🙂
Sandee I 100% agree about split pea soup. Starting with the name, the color of it and the texture. Blah!!
I will neither confirm nor deny that I might have a stashed/hoarded a supply of tp. There are many many things in the world I can make do without but TP is not one of them.
Hugs and what a precious basket of kitties
Cecilia
We have a stash of toilet paper and paper towels. It was awful. Hugs for a happy weekend. 🙂
Haha! That toilet paper shortage was no joke bad!
It was real bad here and we couldn’t find it for a very long time. 🙂
What an adorable basket of kittens! I don’t like peas but I like split pea soup. I hate stewed tomatoes! We are stocked up on TP, as well. Happy Friday!
We all have food that we don’t like. Happy Friday. 🙂
As my mother would say, that’s why they make chocolate and vanilla.
How precious this photo is Sandee! It was exactly what my heart needed thank you! Have a blessed Friday and weekend! Kitten hugs! 🙂 <3
You’re most welcome. You did very well too. Happy weekend. 🙂
I am with you on the TP and it gets more expensvie each week and I am now hoping I can pay for it and that it will not disapear. I was about to say my gross food was gator tail or snails, could not decide which but then you mentioned split pea soup. that brought back a memory from when I went home after shcool to have a sleep over with my 16 year old freind. they had corn bread and split pea soup, my first and last time to touch it for sure. Your gross is gross, mine was just odd
I can’t tell you how low we were on TP. We were stressing something awful. 🙂
I’ll take two baskets of kittens, to go!
You got it. 🙂
What a great party today, meow!
Yes indeed, Cloudia. 🙂
❤️
♥
What a basket of adorable today!!
Happy Weekend!
I agree. Happy weekend. 🙂
I’d choose an unlimited supply of chocolate.
I could have answered that for you too. 🙂

May your weekend be lovely too. xoxo 🙂
Those kittens are so very cute. I agree with you on split pea soup. Have a blessed weekend, my friend.🤗
Cute kitties indeed and hubby loves pea soup. I think it stinks too. Blessed day and weekend. 🙂
Nothing cuter than a basket full of kittens!
Happy Friday and weekend! <3
I thought they were very cute. Happy Friday and weekend, Barbara. 🙂
Oh you are so right on the split pea soup! I’m not sure if its the color or the taste that’s so objectionable! Have a great weekend. P.S. Loved the basket of kittens. Too cute.
It’s both and don’t forget the smell. 🙂
Ewwweee…you’re so right!
Supreme sweetness!!! those little kitties are almost in camouflage:)

Too adorable for words!
I agree, Mudpie. 🙂
The grossest food I ever ate was calamari__.
The best tasting food I ever had was _tacos__.
I should probably more salad, but I won’t.
If I could have an unlimited supply of one item, I would pick tacos___.
I love calamari. I love most seafood. Tacos are good. 🙂
Sandee, love the basket case! I love a lot of different seafood.Pizza is a Go To.
I love sea food too. Yummy. Pizza is always good. 🙂
OMG I HATE SPLIT PEA SOUP TOO!!! It’s disgusting!! Those kitties have to be the CUTEST EVER!! xoxo
It is disgusting and it smells terrible. 🙂
That is a basket full of love.
It sure is. 🙂
Whenever I observe anxiety in the facial expression of my aging mother, a typical senior, I can also witness how that stress suddenly drains and is replaced with joyful adoration upon her cat entering the room: “Hi, sweetheart,” she’ll say. I know that countless other seniors with pets also experience the emotional benefits of their animals’ presence. (Of course, the animals’ qualities, especially an un-humanly innocence, makes losing that pet someday such a heartbreaking experience.)
Many of us can appreciate the reciprocally healthy — perhaps even somewhat symbiotic — relationships that can exist between pet cats and their loving and appreciative human hosts, especially physically and/or mentally ill hosts. They have a beneficial influence over humanity that many people still cannot fathom; and this beautiful reality of their positive effect on their human hosts can also be beneficial to the animals themselves.
I believe that only when overpopulations of unwanted cats are greatly reduced in number by responsible owners consistently spaying/neutering their felines, might these beautiful animals’ presence be truly appreciated — especially for the symbiotic-like healthy relationships they offer their loving owners — rather than taken for granted or even resented. … Until then, cats may remain beautiful yet often misunderstood, prejudged and unjustly despised animals.
I think cats rock and I’ve always loved them. I’ve had many over the years. 🙂
Ditto. …
Along with individual people, society collectively can also be quite cruel towards cats, especially the ‘unwanted’, if not despised, felines.
It was reported a few years ago that Surrey had an estimated 36,000 feral cats, very many of which suffer severe malnourishment, debilitating injury and/or infection. And I was informed last autumn by Surrey Community Cat Foundation that, if anything, their “numbers would have increased, not decreased, in the last 5 years.”
Yet the municipal government, as well as aware yet uncaring residents, did little or nothing to help with the local non-profit Trap/Neuter/Release program, regardless of its (and others’) documented success in reducing the needlessly great suffering.
[That TNR program is the only charity to which I’ve ever donated, in no small part because of the plentiful human callousness towards the plight of those cats and the countless others elsewhere. When I made the largest of my monetary donations ($500) to the T/N/R program, a lady volunteer left me a tearful voice mail expressing her appreciation, which to me suggested a scarcity of caring financial donors.]
Additionally, 59 kittens and cats were rescued from a feces-filled Surrey home a few days ago. While the Peace Arch News, to their humane credit, rightfully deemed this worthy of frontpage space, Surrey’s Now-Leader newspaper didn’t give these afflicted animals any newsprint. Are these felines and their suffering worth so little? [Email the Now-Leader to let them know your thoughts on this atrocious neglect of feline suffering: edit@surreynowleader.com] … At age 54, I’ve long observed that higher human intelligence is typically accompanied by a seemingly proportional reprehensible potential for evil, or malice for malice’s sake.
Dogs also get abandoned/abused but not nearly as prolifically as do cats; even cats that had been house pets before being cowardly, cruelly abandoned. … Perhaps resulting from past bulk contemptible treatment of their species, cats already innately sense that they’re somehow meant to be but a popular target of persecution as they’ve been throughout history. Also, with their reptile-like vertical-slit pupils and Hollywood-cliché fanged hiss when confronted, in a world mostly hostile toward snakes, cats may have a permanent public-relations problem, despite their social-media adorable-pet status.
I believe there’s a subconscious yet tragic human-nature propensity to perceive the value of animal life (sometimes even human life in regularly war-torn or overpopulated famine-stricken global regions) in relation to the conditions enjoyed or suffered by that life. With the mindset of feline disposability, it might be: ‘Oh, there’s a lot more whence they came’.
Did you knit those cats!!!??? Mom says we shed enough furs this time of year to knit another cat! And Sandee, as always, your Fill-ins ROCK! Love you loads and have missed you, purrs, YOUR Marv
I’ve missed you too, Marv. You know how much I love you, your siblings and your mom. 🙂

Sweet photo! As for split pea soup, my homemade curry recipe is a favorite of ours. Yum… Your thirtieth birthday party must have been epic. 😀 My unlimited supply would have to be either kitty litter or their favorite foods. Hugs to you, my dear.
It was epic. I was treated like a queen. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
