Cruise Out

Today finds us at Village West Yacht Club for an IOBG Delta District 19 function. I’ve got this meeting and one more and then I can hand over the reigns to the next president. It’s a good thing. It’s a really good thing.

Hubby and I boated over yesterday, along with a couple of other boats and enjoyed the afternoon and evening at the club. Today we’ll have a cocktail hour to include some yummy finger food, a short meeting and then a really great BBQ prepared by a couple of our members. When you say BBQ to this group there are only two names that come to mind. Ribs, chicken and hot links with homemade beans, potato salad a great selection of wonderful bread and tons of great company. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

After the festivities are over then it’s time for a glass of champagne while lounging on our boat chairs watching the boats come and go. Boating is a fabulous way to have a great time. May your day be as good as ours will be.

Sounds like a marvelous way to spend your day. I will be watching a couple of soccer games then spending the afternoon at home with most of the kids. Nothing too exciting, but it makes me happy.

I've cruised sailboats back in the day, and though I enjoyed the sail, if it wasn't for cocktail hour and chow after dropping anchor was clearly the best part.

Ohhh I wish I could join you and enjoy that delicious food (and the champagne, and OF COURSE the company!) I ADORE riding on boats, you are so lucky! I am thrilled for you that soon your schedule will ease up with no more meetings! Then you can relax! xoxo

Yay, almost done and ready to retire from the helm. We have our AGM coming up and I was asked to be a committee chair for our yacht club. But since I don't have a boat currently, I can't even attend on the exec board, so there is no way I want to chair a committee and not be at the meeting that actually makes the decisions. Glad you are having fun, and enjoying a yummy BBQ.
