Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Happy 4th of July America

Graphic showing the outline of the United States of America filled with the American flag colors, celebrating the 250th anniversary from 1776 to 2026.

On July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was adopted and the United States separated itself from Great Britain. This document declared that all men are “created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable Rights, and that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” With these powerful and moving words, our forefathers formed a brand new nation with a vision of freedom and democracy that would forever change history.

  • In 1776, there were 2.5 million people living in the new nation. Today there are over 318 million.
  • There are more than 30 towns nationwide that have the word “Liberty” in their names.
  • Approximately 150 million hotdogs are consumed on the Fourth of July.
  • Around $675 million dollars will be spent by consumers for fireworks on the Fourth of July. Source: The Fact Base

I wish a Happy 4th of July to you, dear Sandee. And I wish you a fine
July, because I’ll take a pause, starting with the next week!
Happy WW, my friend. Hugs and love!❤️😘

Wishing you a happy Fourth, Sandee. Our day will probably be quiet but we hope to watch some of the celebrations on TV. This is a great country and we still have much to celebrate. Alana ramblinwitham

    • Sandee says:

I agree with you, Alana. It’s a great country indeed. We need to focus on the positive and not on the negative as with anything. Happy day and rest of the week. Hugs. 🙂

I’ve not had a hot dog in a very long time. They just don’t agree with me anymore, but I sure loved a good hot dog in my younger years. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. 🙂

    Happy 250th, America!
Such a milestone to celebrate, and I love how you paired it with those fun facts. Wishing you and everyone a joyful Fourth filled with laughter, good food, and plenty of sparkle. ✨

    • Sandee says:

Thank you, Veronica. We’ll have a quiet day and that’s good with us. We’ll stay with our kitties so we’re here when all the fireworks start. 🙂

We are happy to celebrate our country’s big birthday but we sure wish fireworks would go away. Mom says this weekend will be a nightmare for us with all the fireworks most likely day and night. Sadly, it makes the holiday no fun and Mom will not be able to celebrate because we can’t be left alone when some of us are so terrified.

    • Sandee says:

I’m with you on the fireworks. Our kitties don’t like them either and they hid most of the night. Our Angel Little Bit hated them. Most pups do. Happy day and rest of the week. Scritches to the precious pups. 🙂

Been reading/listening to books that really deep-dive into processes and people who played roles in our Revolution…on both sides of the Atlantic.
Canada did it differently; they waited it out, and gained their independence without bloodshed, so we’ve got to give them props for that.
    Happy Canada Day!

Happy Independence Day, 4 July, Sandee. Thank you for the great facts and interesting trivia…that’s a lot of hot dogs!
Thank you for your work on the blog hops. Happy Wordless Wednesday to you.
Much love and light to you, dear friend.

Those are some remarkable statistics about the Fourth of July, Sandee. Just think if even a tiny fraction of the money spent on fireworks was channeled into saving lost and traumatized pets after the 4th’s fireworks…it blows my mind.

Thanks for linking us up. We were on our way here when we saw your comment of Sawyer & Stinky’s birthday post. And of course it took another 150 years after the Declaration for women to get the vote. Too bad that document didn’t say “all people.” Hope you have a happy and safe fourth. 🇺🇸 XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali

    • Sandee says:

You’re welcome for the link. All people can vote now as it should be. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Scritches to all the kitties, a smooch to Cooper Murphy and a big hug to you. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

Thank you so much. We hope the kitties do better this year than last with all the loud fireworks. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to Granny. Happy Canada Day. 🙂

Happy 4th of July, Sandee! That’s a heck of a lot of money spent on fireworks. We are not fans of them, as they are so frightening for animals and many of our courageous veterans.
