Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Germany, officially the Federal Republic of Germany, is a country in Western and Central Europe. It lies between the Baltic Sea and the North Sea to the north with the Alps to the south. Its sixteen constituent states have a total population of over 82 million, making it the most populous member state of the European Union. Germany borders Denmark to the north; Poland and the Czech Republic to the east; Austria and Switzerland to the south; and France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands to the west. The nation’s capital and most populous city is Berlin and its main financial centre is Frankfurt; the largest urban area is the Ruhr.ย  ย Source: Wikipedia

  1. Pam and Teddy says:

Love Germany……as a child lived in Weisbaden – then many years later visited the beautiful country’s pretty riverside towns on a river cruise. Friendly people, beautiful sights to see…many memories in my heart forever.

    Hugs, Pam

  2. Jackie's Photo Blog says:

Very interesting. We have only visited Warnemunde in the north during a cruise. The smaller ships go through the Kiel canal, but bigger ships go around Denmark to reach that coast passing under the Helsingborg Bridge between Denmark and Sweden, then under the Malmo Bridge.

  3. My GBGV Life says:

Yep. Mom lived there for a year and then later for ten more. It is a very nice place to visit but living there is challenging. She got her first GBGV from England, Emma, when she lived there.

  4. Alana says:

My son took a year of German in high school and used to play online games with teens in Germany. It was an interesting experience for him. My childhood best friend’s parents both emigrated here to the United States from Germany. Alana ramblinwitham

  5. Cecilia Upchurch says:

I love how maps show not only where cities are located but the most lovely shapes of countries and states. My Dad was stationed in Frankfort during the Korean war. Mainly because of his trade skills he was an electrician which were very much in demand. He thoroughly loved Germany.
    Hugs Cecilia

    • Sandee says:

Hubby was stationed there in the Vietnam war. He never went to Vietnam. I’m happy about that. Love and hugs to you and Kit and scritches to the kitties. ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. C.A. Peterson says:

Helmuth and Post (my Mother’s and Dad’s names) are both German. For the longest time, I thought Post was an English name (you know, Post Road, the Daily Post, etc.). But when we traveled in England I could not find anything about a family crest, but in Germany it was easy to find! My maternal grandparents were first generation Americans, but my Dad goes way back to pre-revolutionary war times.

  7. Suzette Benjamin says:

Fascinating details. I did not know that Germany was situated so impactfully geographically and geopolitically in Europe. I also assumed its population was smaller for some reason.

Thanks for the excellent insights, Sandee. Thank you also for your support.

    Happy Wordless Wednesday, dear friend.

  8. Suzana says:

You surprised me all the time with the subjects.
Thank you for the lesson, dear Sandee.
Happy WW and a fine week! Hugs and love!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜˜

  9. Natasha says:

Want to visit Germany someday. ๐Ÿ™‚ Amen!

Darling, will you help me link my posts this month to #WW. Running short of time with AtoZ. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks so very much sweetheart.
    Love ya.
    Biggest hugs xoxo

  10. Tails Around the Ranch says:

Germany is the country of my birth (my dad was stationed there and met my mom who worked at the commissary). I’ve returned a few times and absolutely love the country…there’s so much to see and experience. I highly recommend it! Happy mid-week, dear Sandee. Hugs and tail wiggles from me and Wilson.

    • Sandee says:

Hubby what there in the 60s. He went there instead of Vietnam. I’m happy about that. You got to travel a lot I’m pretty sure. Happy rest of the week. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to Wilson. ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. messymimi's meanderings says:

It’s a beautiful country, I went long ago. It would be so nice to go back, but I’m not counting on it.

You and Mr. Zane have a blessed week and give those two feline overseers of yours some scritches from me, please.

  12. ghostmmnc says:

Nice map showing where the countries are located in relation to Germany. We were there for the Munich Olympics, and we lived in Furth/Nuremberg. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. Darla M Sands says:

My high school choir visited Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and my father encouraged my mother to be a chaperone. She was delighted. Unfortunately all our old photos are grainy and memories foggy because of my raging teenage hormones. lol Be well, my dear!

  14. Marv, Kozmo, Jo Jo & Nutmeg says:

Sorry for no link up. I couldn’t find the link so maybe I was too late as I came on Friday the 20th. Phooey. Thank you for the info on Germany. My son was stationed there for quite a few years, and their daughter was born there.
