It took Rubik a month to solve his cube. With 43,252,003,274,489,856,000 possible combinations, who could blame him? The 4.22-second time to solve a Rubik’s Cube was a former world record set by Feliks Zemdegs in 2018. However, this is no longer the fastest time, as the current world record is 3.13 seconds, achieved by Max Park in 2023, and the current fastest official time is 3.05 seconds by Xuanyi Geng in April 2025. I remember the Rubix Cube
I was never able to solve it. It was fun trying though. 🙂
I never tried the Rubix Cube – I knew I’d have the LONGEST time record solving it vs. the SHORTEST!

That cube was a huge fad for a while but it still comes and goes. Mom isn’t into puzzles like that so she never had one or solved one. It is fun to watch people solve them quickly.

If memory serves me right, someone I knew got so frustrated with that Rubix cube, he or she broke it apart.

Hope there’s prize for being the longest because that’s where I’d excel. I’m no good with puzzles like that, give me a knotty up necklace and I’ll stick with it until it’s all nice and smooth but that colorful little block would get thrown out in the street. 😂 Happy mid-week, dear Sandee. Thanks, Sandee. I received word they got an extension on the approval so we can still close and move on Friday. Whew! I’m soooo blessed. Hugs and tail wiggles from me and the Floof who’s taken to his pillow on the sofa to avoid all the boxes. 😉

Hard to believe Rubik needed a month, and now people solve it in just a few seconds. With so many combinations, it still blows my mind.

I had one of these and could get 2 sides done but that was it. lol I later discovered my little sister taking the stickers off and putting them in the right places. haha

The Rubik’s Cube is so fun, but it takes me days to solve even one side, and then, of course, the other sides are all jumbled up… ! I have not worked with one in a while. all the cube does for me is add stress, I have no idea how anyone does it.

There’s something weirdly statisfying watching those speed cube peeps. The dextreity and tetris like vision of the colours all falling into place.

I knew that there was someone who finished in about 3 seconds, but I had no idea it took the creator a month to do it the first time. That is so interesting!

I tried but never got it, either. There are videos now which will teach you how. Maybe someday I’ll do it, who knows, it might be fun to know how.

I guess it takes a special kind of brain to work such complexities. Not that yours isn’t special but I certainly can say that about mine. Why sometimes it just doesn’t work altogether. lol

This reminds me of a wonderful photo of my first love. On the table beside him was one of these puzzles. I never managed to solve more than two sides. lol Hugs, my dear.

I remember It was such a craze. Everyone had a Rubik’s cube when I was a kid. It was on everyone’s Christmas list at one point too.
I was grown when the Rubik Cube showed up. My son couldn’t figure it out either. Runs in the family. Happy day and weekend, my friend. 🙂

I never had the patience to try it more then a few minutes at a time. Watching people doing kinda made me crazy. One of my daughters friends years ago was really good at it. He would do it over and over again.

I still have a Rubix cube somewhere, along with the Turkish puzzle ring, also somewhere. I am pretty sure I solved the Rubix cube at one stage, but I put it away. The puzzle ring unthreads into a large number of joined together rings that need to be twisted and become one joined up ring. I think my brain has weakened, as it feels challenged at trying either of these tasks now. Instead I write fantastic adventures for my Russian Blue cat Sasha and make images courtesy of some AI programs. I did illustrations too, long ago and now only do digital stuff. Thanks for the blog hop. We hope to welcome a few new cat visitors, and their friends too. The current adventure shows kittens preparing to sing and dance at a concert on Fairy Day. There was an actual Fairy Day for children in my city several weeks ago, which gave me inspiration. I messed that up as the blog hop is now closed.
