WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.
For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.
Make sure you leave a link to your post and Iโll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.
Statue of Liberty
Did you know that on this day, October 15, 1924, the Statue of Libertyโs fingers, which clasp the handle of her torch, were fully installed? This was one of the finishing touches, and she was unveiled two weeks later. Source: The Facts Site

Hugs, Pam
It does. It ebbs and flows. Have a fabulous day and rest of the week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to handsome Teddy. ๐
My sissy went to see her a couple of months ago and it was her very first time. Lady Liberty is beautiful!
She is beautiful indeed. Happy day and rest of the week, Duke. ๐
I did not know that but I do now ๐
I didn’t know this either. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week, Ann. ๐
I grew up in New York City and saw the Statue of Liberty in the harbor a number of times. It makes me think back to when my grandparents, fleeing persecution, must have seen it for the first time as the ships they were on traveled through New York Harbor. We must continue to be inspired by her. Alana ramblinwitham
Yes we must continue to be inspired by her. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, Alana. ๐
Now, that is an interesting fact! Lady Liberty is beautiful! Happy Wednesday! Hugs.
She is very beautiful. Happy Wednesday, Eugenia. Hugs. ๐
๐

I’ve never seen her, but would love to. You’re welcome on the hosting. Scritches to all the kitties and a big hug to you. ๐
She is a grand lady, and a beacon to all.
Very well said. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. ๐
That’s odd. I wonder why it took so long to do the fingers.
I have no idea. She’s most beautiful. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐
This Grand Lady and Old glory are sights to behold
We took our daughter to NYC for her 16th birthday…1987
Back then you were able to climb to the crown it was an amazing view and you could see the torch up close.
Hugs x 4 Cecilia
I would love to see her. So beautiful. Love and hugs to you and Kit and scritches to all the kitties. ๐
That was really interesting!
I thought so too, Terry. Scritches to all the kitties and Happy Gotcha Day to Simon and Seal. ๐
Love the Statue of Liberty!
Me too. A beacon of hope for so many. ๐
I feel so lucky to have grown up in an area where we could visit Lady Liberty!
I’ve never seen her, but would love too. Beautiful lady. Scritches to the pups. ๐
Such an iconic symbol…I had no idea about the final and completing feature. Thanks for sharing that info. Happy mid-week, dear Sandee.
You’re most welcome, my friend. Big hug to you and lots of scritches and a treat to Wilson. ๐
Mom remembers visiting the statue of liberty on school trips.
What an honor to have seen her. Happy WW and rest of the week. Scritches to the kitties. ๐
Do you ever stop to wonder about the unveiling of a statue?? Think about it. Lady Liberty stands 300 ft tall. unless everyone in New York are idiots they must have noticed her being erected. If everyone has already seen her, the unveiling had to be anti clamactic. That’s wjy they serve free booze at such events. it provides a lot more excitment. ๐คฃ๐๐
I love your sense of humor. I hadn’t thought of this at all. Thanks for pointing it out. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. ๐
I love the details and bits of trivia you uncover, Sandee. How amazing is that? Yes, I am guessing that because the statue is so large, it was transported in various sections. Thank you for the, as always, interesting bits of new information you uncover and share. Much love to you. Happy Wordless Wednesday.
I love finding these interesting pieces of history. Thanks for playing along. Most appreciated. Have a great Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Love and hugs, my friend. ๐
You are welcome Sandee. And thank you!
That is pretty interesting to know about. Every once in awhile we run across a fun fact about this statue, and I always like them. Happy Wednesday! โฅ
I’m sure there are many stories about this fabulous and beautiful statue. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week, Barbara. Hugs. ๐

It’s fascinating that this has been standing since 1924. It’s a testament to the skill and effort put in despite the technology and construction we have today not being available back then. x
It’s fascinating indeed. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week, Caz. Hugs. ๐
