WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.
For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.
Make sure you leave a link to your post and I’ll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.
Hell, Norway
Hell is real. There’s an actual village in southern Norway named “Hell.” however, it may not be true to its name: The weather in Hell is consistently below 20°C, with lows dropping to negative temperatures. Source: The Facts Site

MOL!
It’s good to know that some have a sense of humor. Happy Wordless Wednesday. 🙂
Wow!!! I had no idea!!! LOL!!! Thanks for sharing.
Me either. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
I live in Michigan and there is a Hell here too. And it’s frozen over a few times!
There is Hell here and there. I’m sure of that. Winter can be brutal. Happy Wednesday. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Maybe there’s a warmer counterpart near the equator somewhere.
I’m sure Australia can come up with the warmer counterpart. 🙂
There’s one in the Caribbean but for the life of me I can’t remember which island. I want to say it’s in the Cayman but could be wrong.
Interesting! The weather there seems a lot like ours here in Ireland! X
Yikes. Weather is so different in so many different places. Happy rest of the week. 🙂
BOL! Nice to see it’s frozen over!
I hear you. Happy WW and rest of the week. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
Fascinating. I did not know this. Thanks Sandee. Is there a place in the USA of the same name, I thought I saw a meme about it once? But I could be wrong.
Thank you Sandee for hosting and shepherding these linkups. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Blessing and hugs to you, dear friend.
Hell is an unincorporated community in Livingston County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The community is located within Putnam Township along Patterson Lake Road (D-32) about 15 miles (24 km) northwest of Ann Arbor and three miles (4.8 km) southwest of Pinckney. As an unincorporated community, Hell has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own and is served by the Pinckney 48169 ZIP Code. Source: Wikipedia
Love and hugs, my friend. ♥
Oh wow, yes thank you for this information. I am glad I did not imagine that there was a place…albeit not a city, with the same name. I very much appreciate the extra information bonus. Awesome!
Cheers, Sandee. Bless you!
HA! I’ve been to the one in Grand Cayman and it sure looks the part!
Hell is an area within the district of West Bay, Grand Cayman. Its name comes from a group of short, black, limestone formations located in the area. Its eerie and rather sinister look is what gave it its infamous name. It is roughly the size of half a football field. Visitors are not permitted to walk on the limestone formations but viewing platforms are provided. A gift shop and service station is located in the area, and art depicting Satan can be seen when entering. Source: Wikipedia
Well, all that stuff we said could never happen till hell freezes over… 😉
You’re right about that. It’s going to happen now. Happy WW and rest of the week. Loved your post today. Beautiful oils. 🙂
I loved that! I had heard of it a long time ago and totally had forgotten it.
Looks like there is more than one Hell. Very interesting. Happy WW and rest of the week. 🙂
Ha! I guess it’s safe to say that Hell does freeze over sometimes.😆
Happy Wednesday, Sandee!
It’s safe to say, indeed. Happy Wednesday, my friend. 🙂
There is no Hell in Arkansas, but we do have a Toad Suck…it’s kind of the same thing.
Toad Suck is an unincorporated community in Perry County, Arkansas, United States. It is the location of (or is the nearest community to) Bigelow Rosenwald School, which is located at the junction of Arkansas Highway 60 and Bethel AME Road and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Source: Wikipedia
Hilarious……and I see other comments that echo what went through my head when I saw the sign……..acknowledging that Hell really CAN freeze over. Anyway, thanks for the giggle – I can always use that!
Hugs, Pam (and Teddy too)
I thought this was a funny post too. Happy WW and rest of the week. Big hug to you and lots of scritches to handsome Teddy. 🙂
I discover this youtube:

The first town is Hell, but there are more… So many strange things in this world!
Hugs, dear Sandee! Happy WW and a fine week!

wow this is news to me, our backyard resembles Hell, the heat is sooooooooooo hot I can’t breathe out there. I even fuss at Beau for taking to long for his potty break
I knew there was a hell in Norway, but there are more than one. I didn’t know that. Big hug to you, prayers for you and Bob and lots of scritches to Beau. 🙂
Made me laugh.

Hell No! We always thought the temperatures were rising in Hell…MOL…Double Pawkisses for a Happy Week ahead dear Sandee and kitties🐾😽💞
Apparently Hell freezes over often. You made me laugh out loud. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to Granny. 🙂
Too cold to be Hell! 🙂 🙂 Have a nice week Sandee
You have that right. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week, Sami. 🙂
Some of the folks who LURV wintertime might just like being ‘assigned’ to Hell, if it’s cold.
I would be happy if it was 80 degrees year around and rained at night. It would be perfect. 🙂
MOL MOL Hell really did freeze over
Too funny
Happy remainder of your week and weekend
Hugs x 4
Cecilia
It sure did. It made me laugh too. Happy WW and rest of the week. Love and hugs to you and Kit and lots of scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Well who knew. I don’t know what that converts to in Fahrenheit but it sounds cold and you know I don’t like cold.
I knew there was a Hell, but couldn’t remember where it was. There is more than one. Happy WW and rest of the week, Ann. 🙂
Another place with this name – this one in SA and I visited this one, and it can get extremely hot there, as it is in a semi desert area.
“Die Hel,” meaning “The Hell” in Afrikaans, refers to Gamkaskloof, a remote valley in the Swartberg Mountains of South Africa. This valley earned its name due to its isolation and the challenging road conditions required to access it.
Thank you, Sandee, for the weekly linkup party. Happy #WW.
My entries this week #44+45
Hope you will join ES #WW https://esmesalon.com/tag/wordlesswednesday/ NOW OPEN
I didn’t know about this hell either. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friend. Hugs. 🙂
I have heard of it. When I was on a cruise a few years ago there was a ship’s tour to there. We didn’t go but went on a private tour somewhere else with people we met up with on the cruise.
I didn’t know about any other Hell besides in Norway. Happy Wednesday and rest of the week, Jackie. Hugs. 🙂
While I’m sure the word means something different in their language, it’s still funny. And I thought the place froze over when the Saints won the Super Bowl.
I pray you and Mr. Zane have a blessed week and please give those kitties some scritches from me.
You made me laugh out loud with the Saints winning. You and Mr. Sweetie have a blessed week, too. Love and hugs. 🙂
Isn’t that a hoot!
It sure is. Hell finally froze over. 🙂
I know…ha ha!
LOL When I went on a cruise to the Caribbean there was a Hell there too. Have a great rest of the week!
I didn’t know that until today. Happy rest of the week, Yvonne. 🙂
I looked up what “hell” means in the Norwegian language and it means “good luck”, according to Google. They have their own word for the hot place. Interesting! Alana ramblinwitham
Very interesting. I didn’t know that either. Happy WW and rest of the week. 🙂
That is hilarious!! Well done!
I agree. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week, my friend. 🙂
haha Love this sign with the icicles hanging below! Happy Wednesday! <3
We’ll Hell finally froze over. Big hug, my friend. 🙂
It’s cool to find one ‘funny’ word in English may have a different meaning in different language. Thank you for sharing! Juno and Mom xo
I agree. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
A place with cold weather sounds like Heaven to me. Thanks for hosting. Have a nice day. XO
I think most of us are tired of this heat. Big hug to you and scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Love it. And I won’t even be there when hell freezes over, LOL!
Me either. Love you all. 🙂
Amazing…Glad to know about ‘Hell’ village 🙂
Thanks a lot for hosting WW .
Who knew Hell was right here on earth. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂
If I saw the sign in person, I would have to fight the urge to put an ‘o’ at the end of it. And now I’m singing the old Lionel Richie song, lol. Have a happy day!
Well said. I like adding the ‘O’. Happy day and weekend, my friend. Hugs. 🙂
…so there really is a Highway to Hell!
Apparently. Have a great day and weekend, Keith. 🙂
EPIC! Someone just needs to add an ‘O’ to the end, to make it more welcoming and friendly!!! MOL Happy Friday Sandee, we hope mew have a pawesome weekend!
What a great idea. You made me laugh out loud. Happy day and weekend. Love and hugs to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. 🙂
There is also a “Hell” Michigan. And no…….it isn’t Detroit lol. There truly is a “Hell” Michigan
I didn’t know that. I did know about Hell, Norway. Love and hugs to you and scritches to the boys. 🙂
