Wordless Wednesday

WordlessWed-Blog-Hop-Badge-125-pxWW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Fort Knox

Kentucky’s Fort Knox is one of the most secure places in the U.S., due to the fact that it’s home to more than 147.3 million ounces of gold bullion, according to the U.S. Mint. During World War II, it even stored the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. So obviously, there are strict precautions when it comes to access. For instance, there are very few people who are aware of the actual structure of the facility, and there’s not one single person who knows all of the procedures to open the vault entirely.

Linking up with a bunch of fantastic peeps from the blogosphere who host Wordless Wednesday – Betty, Steve, image-in-ing, Keith, Senior Salon, Esme Salon, CatSynth, and Suzana.

They look like a lot of chocolate bars…
But of course their importance is much, much bigger.
Thank you for this topic. I read that many problems occur when the gold backing of the dollar
was cancelled. Now, I suppose they ‘realize’ the mistake!
Hugs, dear Sandee! Happy WW and much, much more… chocolate!❤️😘

Oh I love the photo and your wonderful details, Sandee. It is right to guard this treasure. I did not know that it was used a critical place of safekeeping for national documents. Happy Wordless Wednesday Sandee!

Interesting they have all that gold. What do they do with it? Do they just stack it up for fun like lego bricks? haha
Well, here it is Wednesday! Have some fun with the kitties! <3

  5. The OP Pack says:

We thought it might be chocolate at first, but nope, it is a whole lot of gold. Let’s hope that incredible security endures.

When I first saw that image all I could think of was a big stack of Dove Bars. LOL Makes you wonder what’s on my brain! Love the deets about Ft. Knox. What an amazing place-let’s just hope Herr Musk doesn’t gain access.

  7. Rosey says:

I thought it was chocolate, lol. I’d be happy to have a couple of those bars in my Easter basket. Someone tell the Easter Bunny. 🙂
