Countries without Airports
There are 5 countries in the world that don’t have airports. If you’re a jet-setting traveler, it’s hard to imagine not having an airport nearby for your next family gathering or work event. However, Vatican City, San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein, and Andorra somehow make it work!
Linking up with a bunch of fantastic peeps from the blogosphere who host Wordless Wednesday – Betty, Steve, image-in-ing, Keith, Senior Salon, Esme Salon, CatSynth, and Suzana.

This is a very interesting fact you have presented. I imagine smaller countries are close to countries that do have airports. It’s smart, actually, because they don’t have to pay for all the costs related to airports. Not just costs but all of the administration.
I love finding weird facts about things. Happy day and rest of the week. Scritches to Dani. 🙂
You do have a gift for it. 😀 Hugs and blessings, my dear.
I never thought about places that don’t have airports……but I’m sure they’re quieter! LOL
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
I’m sure they are and far less traffic too. Loved my breakfast this morning. Thank you. A hug to you and lots of scritches to Teddy. 🙂
Can’t hardly believe it, Sandee. We’re having five airports in our little Country and there’s a lot of traffic in the air…to much if you asked us😸Double Pawkisses for a Silent Day to you and the kitties too🐾😽💞
Funny how that works. Double Pawkisses to the kitties and a big hug to Granny.:)
I’m not surprised that Vatican City doesnt have one given it’s size and location, but I am surprised about the others! Guess I’ll have to parachuite in!
I’ll bet the airports aren’t very far away either. In another country, but not far. 🙂
I never thought about it before but where would they put the runway?!
You have a valid point. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂
This is news to me, I had no idea… but now that I read this, I can see why they don’t. doesn’t seem to hurt them at all
It doesn’t hurt them at all. Something to ponder though. Scritches to handsome Beau. 🙂
Well, they are small places that have airports not very far away. Some countries that have airports have a much longer drive to the airport at times.
I agree with you. It takes us 1.5 hours to get to the nearest international airport. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
Those countries are so tiny it would be very difficult to fit an airport somewhere. We have been to the first three but not the last two.
I would think you’re right about that. You’re such a world traveler. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
I never gave much thought to this. Interesting that these place don’t have airports. Obviously they get along just fine without them.
I hadn’t thought about it either. It’s fun to learn new things. 🙂
I think all of these are small countries and not having an airport saves them money. Vatican City, for example, uses a Rome airport that is only 10 miles away. Many of us here in the United States live further away than that from our airports. But I never did realize this until reading it here. Alana ramblinwitham
I hear you and agree. Our nearest international airport is 1.5 hours away. That’s in good traffic. Happy WW. 🙂
Thank you for this info. I am not a traveller so I did not check about.
Instead would be a harbour nearby!
Happy WW, dear Sandee! Hugs and a fine week!❤️😘
We used to go here and there, but we’re homebodies now. We like it. Happy WW and rest of the week, Suzana. Big hugs. 🙂
That is odd, but they’re small countries, so I guess they don’t have a lot of room.
I would guess you’re right. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂
I never though about airports because I don’t travel. I have only flown to Florida a few times. but that was it and over 30 years ago. 🙂 Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO
We don’t travel anymore either. We’re good with that. Have a great day. Scritches to the kitties and a big hug to their mom. 🙂
That is a beautiful photo and very interesting info on 5 countries w/o airports
Hugs to da Boss ladies and staff
Cecilia
I hadn’t thought about this, but found it interesting. Hugs back my friend. 🙂
That sure is a very beautiful place!
It sure is. Happy WW and rest of the week, my friends. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
That is something our peeps have never thought about. What a beautiful image you have shown us!!! We live very close to a small executive airport, and Mom and Dad would be happy if the planes didn’t fly over our house, especially with al the recent air tragedies.

I hadn’t thought about it either. We have a small airport here and the international ones are over and hour away. Happy WW. 🙂
I would think it would make it hard on cities that host visitors but no airport.
I don’t think other airports are that far away. Should research that. Happy day and rest of the week. 🙂
Interesting fact.
I thought so too. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
How interesting, Sandee, and that is a beautiful photo. I love your Valentine header! Happy Wednesday! 💖
I thought I’d better go from all the snow to some Valentine’s Day headers. Happy WW and rest of the week. Hugs. 🙂
Hugs, backatcha, Sandee!
Interesting info. I didn’t know about this. Have a great day and rest of the week!
I didn’t know about it either. I love learning these little tidbits of information. 🙂
Such a beautiful pic and Vatican City uses Rome. Very great knowledge. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
I know that’s true, but it’s amazing these things we don’t know about. Happy rest of the week, Patrick. Thank you for playing along. 🙂
They can get away with it because they’re all tiny country surrounded by much bigger (friendly) countries 😺
You’re right about that, but I found this most interesting. 🙂
That’s interesting! I didn’t know about this. 🌺🩷
I love finding out about strange little things. Happy WW and rest of the week, Kymber. 🙂
Me, too! Thank you, Sandee!
That thought never crossed my mind – strange to see that they do not have an airport
Thanks, Sandee, thank you for hosting this weekly party.

It never crossed my mind either. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
It’s hard to imagine not having an airport nearby!
Some airports aren’t that far away. Happy Wordless Wednesday. 🙂
Interesting info ~ am sure there are ways to get there though ~
Hugs and love to you and your family,

There are lots of ways to get to each country. I found it amazing though. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. 🙂
Great information Sandee. It makes sense that the Vatican does not have one, the focus on security and peace and quiet is paramount there, perhaps. The others I am very surprised. Thank you Sandee! Have a wonderful Wordless Wednesday!
I had no idea either. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. Hugs. 🙂
Thank you Sandee. Same to you! Hugs!
Bet that means the skies are quieter!
Bet you’re right about that. 🙂
That must be nice, quiet place
I love nice and quiet. 🙂
You’d have to pay me a lot to fly, so traveling aboard is out pretty much but it is hard to imagine these countries without airports. That’s interesting.
No more air travel for us. We’re homebodies now. 🙂
I guess they have airports in countries nearby, no need to build their own.
You and Mr. Zane have a fabulous week and scritches to the kitties from me, please.
There are. I found this very interesting. Love and hugs to you, my friend. 🙂
Vatican City makes sense, but the others are surprising!
Fun facts, Sandee!
Happy Thursday!
I agree with you. Happy Wordless Wednesday and the rest of the week. 🙂
Wow, had no idea about that little factoid. Thanks for sharing! Pretty remarkable. And some were just downright surprising!
Glad you enjoyed this. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to you. 🙂
Never knew this either 🙂 Interesting fact Sandee
I found this most interesting too. Happy day and rest of the week, Sami. 🙂
What a beautiful photo of a city. I’m surprised it’s only five countries without airports. Visiting from SSPS
I was surprised by this too. Happy rest of the week. 🙂
Oh wow, I guess that would be true…there would be places without airports. I just cannot imagine though. I would not like that one bit! Wishing you a happy day.
I’d never thought of it before. I’m guessing there is an airport in another country that’s not very far away. Happy day and weekend. 🙂
WOW, so interesting!!! The P.A. remembers being in Antigua in 1981, and the airport was a tin shed next to the runway. How things have changed over the years! Happy Caturday Sandee, and thank mew so much for adding our links this week, mew are EPIC!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I thought it was interesting too. You’re welcome for the links. I wanted to make sure you’ve part of the hop. Have a fabulous weekend, my friend. A hug to you and lots of scritches to the kitties. 🙂
