Wordless Wednesday

WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.

For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.

Make sure you leave a link to your post and I’ll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.

Oberschleißheim is a municipality in the district of Munich, in Bavaria, Germany. It is located 13 km north of Munich (centre). As of 2005 it had a population of 11,467.

Oberschleißheim is best known for the Schleissheim Palace and the Flugwerft Schleissheim next to the airport housing the airplane department of the German Museum. The airfield is also home to one of the five German Federal Police helicopter squadrons. Established in 1912, the airfield was the first in Bavaria.

During World War II, a subcamp of Dachau concentration camp was located here.

In the early 20th century, Schleißheim was home to author Waldemar Bonsels, who was inspired to write his “Biene Maja” by a gnarly tree in the woods nearby. Source: Wikipedia

What a great shot with the reflection from that distance reminded me of Buckingham palace down the road from me although I have never been invited around 🙂

That is a perfect reflection photo. Mom was in Munich a few times when she lived over there. It is a pretty place but the people were a bit snobby.

I’ve heard that. Zane was there during the Vietnam war. He said the people didn’t take regular baths and they stank. 🙂

  3. foguth – Though Jeanne began her career technical writing, her love of romantic-suspense, whether it be present, future or in an unknown galaxy inspired her to write the novels she wanted to find in bookstores. Since marrying, Jeanne and her husband have lived from the arctic to the tropics, as well as from yacht to off-grid mountain home. She loves using vivid colors and flowing shapes in her oil paintings as well as creating edible landscapes. At present, she is finishing writing the Chatterre Trilogy and working on a new episode for The Sea Purrtector Files. You can always find out what she is working on and/or contact her at: www.jeannefoguth.com.

That is a very impressive building! Ms. Sandee, do you think buildings can have nightmares about what they were used for?

  4. Deborah – South San Francisco, CA – I am a Wise Woman who has been on a spiritual journey for many years. My wisdom was not gained through a higher education but through the University Of Life and all the insight, knowledge gained through the pain of trials and tribulations on the path of weeping to healing. Sweet Blessings!

That is quite a magnificent structure. One has to wonder, are there rooms that the resident doesn’t see for several years and when they walk in, they see artwork they don’t even remember that they own? I think I would schedule an annual tour just to remind myself of what is under my roof.

    Suzana says:

Very impressive building, indeed. But from my perspective this kind of architecture is very cold.
It generates distancing and fear when I see it. Far away to be friendly. Even the trees are so orderly!
Thank you for sharing this new place for me. During this game I learn about the world!
All the best, Sandee! Happy WW and a fine week!
    Cheers!

    Sandee,

If I were a kid and lived in this place, I’d roller skate through the rooms. Hmmm, who says I still can’t do this? Just suit me up with enough padding and helmet and I’ll be ready to roll…literally! 😀
