Halloween
Halloween (advertised as John Carpenter’s Halloween) is a 1978 American independent slasher film directed and scored by John Carpenter, who co-wrote it with its producer Debra Hill. It stars Donald Pleasence, Jamie Lee Curtis (in her film debut), P. J. Soles, and Nancy Loomis. Set mostly in the fictional Illinois town of Haddonfield, the film follows mental patient Michael Myers, who was committed to a sanitarium for murdering his teenage sister one Halloween night during his childhood; he escapes 15 years later and returns to Haddonfield, where he stalks teenage babysitter Laurie Strode and her friends while his psychiatrist Dr. Samuel Loomis pursues him.
The film was shot in Southern California throughout May 1978, produced by Compass International Pictures and Falcon International Productions. Source: Wikipedia

This time I do not know this movie. I suppose I did not lose something
important. Too cruel for me!
Happy WW, dear Sandee! Have a pleasant week ahead!
Hugs!❤️😘
It’s very scary. I loved it when it came out, but now that I’m in my 70s I wouldn’t want to watch it. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
WOW that image was enough to have me comment QUICKLY and go hide!!!!
I hear you. I couldn’t comment on your blog today. It says I’m spam. I tried. 🙂
That was a scary film! I forgot it was time to do a post so have missed it this week. I will schedule one early for next week.
It sure was. You take care of you Jackie. You’re in my thoughts and prayers, my friend. 🙂
I did see this one. Back in the day I used to like scary movies like this one.
You and I are on the same page. What we liked in our younger years isn’t what we like now. Hugs to you and lots of scritches to Gibbs. 🙂
I liked Halloween it was very scary at the time and still is “shivers” 🙂
Have a scarytastic week Sandee and thanks for hosting 👍
It was very scary then and now. Very scary. Happy Halloween, Steve. 🙂
Oh no no no!! I’m way too much of a chicken to watch or read this kind of story. I lean more towards Charlie Brown’s Pumpkin Patch, lol. 🙂
Have a Happy Halloween!
No for me now, but in my youth I loved these scary movies. Happy rest of the week and Halloween, my friend. 🙂
Nope – never. We don’t watch those kinds of movies!
I did in my younger years, but not anymore. I like happy movies now. 🙂
This sounds like a scary Helloween movie, Sandee, we haven’t seen it..Thank Cat…👻Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day and week ahead to you, Zane and the kitties too🐾😽💞
I don’t want to watch this one again, but I enjoyed it in my younger years. Double Pawkisses to you both and a big hug to Granny. 🙂
Mom is scared of scary things and movies, so she has never seen one of those Halloween horror films. Some people do love them, though.
I used to watch these horror flicks in my younger years, but not so much now. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
That movie is so well done. Michael Myers was one scary dude!
It sure is well done. It’s still scary too. Happy rest of the week. 🙂
I’m not one for horror movies though I know many people love the thrills and chills. Happy Wednesday and have a Happy Halloween! 👻🎃
This one will keep you on the edge of your seat. Happy Wednesday and Halloween, my friend. Hugs. 🙂
Hugs back and have a Happy Halloween! 👻
While I like horror movies, I steer clear of slashers. shudder Xena doesn’t like them either.
This is a slasher indeed. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to mom. 🙂
I don’t do horror. One movie back in the early 70’s and that is it. No. Alana ramblinwitham
I’m not much for horror movies anymore, but in my younger years the scarier the better. 🙂
That one is a classic. I am not a horror fan, but I did see that one. Thanks for hosting. Have a nice day. XO
This is a very scary movie. Scritches to the kitties and a big hug to you, Ellen. 🙂
Wow, it’s that old already!
Amazing!
Amazing isn’t it? Time marches on. 🙂
So I was born in the 70s, so I grew up with this film being played every Halloween season. This film, Amityville Horror and Jaws were such scary films back then! And something I just learned this year? I never realized Jamie Lee Curtis was the daughter of Tony Curtis!
Yes she is the daughter of Tony Curtis. This movie scared me to pieces. 🙂
I have not seen it, but have seen ads for years about it. I don’t think I have ever watched a horror/slasher, but this is totally appropriate for the Halloween we now have. I preferred Halloween of my youth when the only decor was a pumpkin with a face cut out and a candle inside..
This was a very scary movie. Loved it though. Scritches to Beau. 🙂
I don’t know if I ever saw that film or not.
It’s a scary movie. Be prepared. 🙂
That’s funny, I just watched that movie last night!
That’s very funny. This movies scared me to pieces. 🙂
Nice picture…however, I’m 100% a scaredy cat. I don’t like scary movies. Bryan loves all of them and I’ve heard a few scary screams coming from the tv upstairs at night…
Happy MEOWoWeen to your feline bosses and you and Zane
Hugs cecilia
I don’t watch many of the scary movies anymore either. I do love The Shining though. Hugs. 🙂
Mom remembers that one!!!!
It scared me half to death. 🙂
Wow, that is a powerful image! I never saw this classic film, likely because I’m chicken. I typically avoid scary movies because I don’t react well with them. Thanks for introducing me to it, though.
Have a good Hallowe’en tomorrow.
I don’t want to see this again either. I loved it in my youth though. Happy Halloween. 🙂
A true classic. I have seen it many times. Hope that you have a safe Halloween. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
I’ve seen it many times in my younger years. Thanks for linking up, Patrick. 🙂
Good movie for the season ~ never saw it and not likely to watch these types ~ but good suggestion ~
Hugs to you and your family from me and Ziggy ~ ^_^
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
clm ~ A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
I thought it was the best movie to review this week. Love and hugs to you and Ziggy. 🙂
Now with Halloween almost something of the past, on to the next seasonal event.
Thanks, Sandee, for hosting and may you have an awesome day and rest of the week.

Thank you for linking up, my friend. Always good to see you. Hugs. 🙂
One of the first scary movies I ever went to see in High School…It’s amazing they just wrapped the series up 40 something years later!
It’s amazing indeed. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
Happy Halloween eve, Sandy. Love & Hugs 🥰🤗🫶 🧙♀️🪄🧹🎃👻🍂🍁
Back at you, Jody. I miss you. Love and hugs, my friend. 🙂
The perfect movie for this week. One of my favorite scary movies.
I finally got it together and realized I needed to do Halloween this week. Happy Wordless Wednesday, Yvonne. 🙂
that movie still give me nightmares!
It would now, but in my younger years I loved these movies. Happy Wordless Wednesday and Halloween. Scritches to the kitties and healing hugs to Zulu. 🙂
I am not familiar with this one Sandee. I shy away from the scary movie stuff. But this is a very popular genre to some. Happy Wordless Wednesday. Blessings to you.
I used to love them in my youth, but I don’t watch them now. I can’t take the scary like I used to. Hugs and blessings to you. 🙂
Thank you Sandee! Cheers.
I never was into horror films but for some odd reason, that changed. I don’t care for a lot of blood guts or gore but if there is a lack of that, I sort of like watching them now. Halloween movies, not the biggest of fans course, I still have to this day never watched Carrie or Exorcist…
I’ve watched all the horror films and all of them in my youth. Well except for The Shining. Love that movie. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Scary movies aren’t my thing, never have been. It’s okay, some like it and I won’t begrudge them.
I pray you and Mr. Zane have a fabulous rest of the week. Scritches to Lil’ Bit and Squeaker.
I loved them in my younger years, but not now. I think they would give me nightmares. Happy rest of the week, my friend. Love and hugs. 🙂
I used to be all about scary movies, but not so much anymore. These days, instead of feeling that fun thrill, I end up more anxious than entertained. I guess I’m just over the whole ‘adrenaline rush’ thing and would rather watch something that doesn’t leave me all jumpy for the rest of the night!
I’m the same way, Veronica. The older I get the less I can handle them. Happy rest of the week. 🙂
I can honestly say nope to all Halloween slasher movies. Not a fan of the genre but understand how captivating they can be to many. That poster says it all! Eeek. 🎃
It’s not for everyone, but it’s Halloween so I went with it. Scritches to the pups and a big hug to you. 🙂
We realize that many people love these kinds of movies, especially this time of year. We hope you have a spooktacular Halloween 🎃
Wow – that is a very scary image!!! We think Mom will skip watching this one, but Dad would love it
Woos – Misty and Timber
I loved it when it came out in my younger years. I don’t think I could watch it now. Scritches to the pups. 🙂
Oh no, that’s not for me! Some bits in The Sound of Music give me the creeps!
It’s a scary movie for sure. Halloween is over so we can go back to more tame and less scary movies. 🙂
I love Halloween time 😀
Me too. Not the scary movies, but the fun of Halloween. Happy new week, Kinga. 🙂
My dad’s a lifelong horror buff (books, movies, real life- you name it) and says that if he ever retires he would be happy locking himself in a room with whatever lifetime he has left worth of gory horror books and movies.
There are lots of folks that love gory horror books and movies. Nothing wrong with that. Happy new week. 🙂
