There’s nothing better than sitting down to a bowl of this warming stew on a cool day. Hearty chunks of beef turn tender after a low and slow trip in your favorite Dutch oven; potatoes get added during the tail end of cooking so they don’t dissolve into the stew. Get the Recipe

Thank you for all the food ideas, even some are complicated for my ignorance…
But they look delicious! A glass of red wine is… easier!😃
Happy WW, again, dear Sandee! A lot of colors in your days!❤️😘

  2. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

Autumn and winter is the time for stews and casseroles. I often but some small pieces of potato in if I want it extra thick. You have made me hungry now.

  3. Wendy says:

Mmmm, that seasonal food looks so comforting! I’ve been into soups lately. They’re a nutritious one-dish meal. A carriage ride down a tree-lined street sounds like a great idea, too. Thanks for that!

  4. 15andmeowing says:

That is what I made for supper last night. I made ours in the crock pot and I add a lot of kale. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day. XO

I’m making my grocery list later today and I just heard next week will be more fall like temps…woohoo

That looks delicious! 😋 It’s still hot and humid here, but the cooler, ‘comfort food’ weather will set in soon enough. Happy Wednesday, Sandee! Thanks for hosting.

  8. Marvelous Marv says:

Oh YUM! What a great idea for supper! Maybe next week…Life here at Casa De Marv is so furry hectic! We are 2 days behind in celebrating Kozmo’s Birthday! Between Mom writing grants (and managing a program or 2) at the Senior Centre, and the creation of the badges for the Cat Blogosphere, Mom does NOT help me post comments (much) or get the celebrations in our lives out there! BUT I, Marvelous am STILL your #1 Fan Boy! Head Bonks and whisker kisses, Marvelous Marv

  9. The OP Pack says:

Yummers. It looks so good. Mom makes a tasty one that Dad loves – it is done in the crockpot with a can of coke.

Stuff like that was the staple of my cooking when I was feeding a family and lots of the kids friends. No recipes, whatever was in the house got put in the pot and they always ate it all.

You and Mr. Zane have a great rest of the week and please gives scritches to those wonderful kitties.

A PERFECT STEW TO STEW OVER….Mama says just cut up all the ingredients that need it, heat the oil. saute the onion and garlic for a couple of minutes, then put EVERYTHING ELSE in the big stew pot, cover and let rip on low heat until all veggies are soft and it smells so good you can’t resist drooling into the stew. It works. Mama has been around cooking for a gazillion years, teaching and writing cookbooks and it works. THANK you for the great combo stew, love the Crimini mushroom addition….

  12. annesphamily says:

Oh stew is good, my husband likes it thick and full of fresh veggies. My mom use to add fresh peas and love those but no one else here does. Sigh…. I am trying to get back into my blogs. Car problems keep popping up. So I am just thankful I am here. Have a great weekend sweet friend.
