Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
Beverly Hills Cop is a 1984 American buddy cop action comedy film directed by Martin Brest, with a screenplay by Daniel Petrie Jr., and story by Danilo Bach and Daniel Petrie Jr. It stars Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, a street-smart Detroit detective who visits Beverly Hills, California, to solve the murder of his best friend. Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Ronny Cox, Lisa Eilbacher, Steven Berkoff, Paul Reiser, and Jonathan Banks appear in supporting roles.
This first film in the Beverly Hills Cop franchise shot Murphy to international stardom, won the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Motion Picture”, and was nominated for both the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay in 1985. An immediate blockbuster, it received positive reviews and earned $234 million at the North American domestic box office, making it the highest-grossing film released in the U.S. in 1984. You need to see it. It’s most funny and entertaining. 🙂
It was a fantastic time (the 80s). There were lots of good memories. I love this movie…the laughter was so relatable..
Thank you, Sandee, for the burst of nostalgia..I can still hear Eddie Murphy’s unusual laugh…Lol

Mom loved that movie! She remembers watching it several times and the music is still stuck in her mind.
I’ve seen it several times too. Funny movie. 🙂
That’s one of my favorite movies. The first scene between Axel and Serge in the art studio is hilarious!
It sure is. Loved that movie. 🙂
we have seen them all, and this one 2 or 3 times over the years. just watched the new one last week on netflix or prime, can’t remember which one had it
We did too. The new one on Netflix was fun too. Many of the same faces forty years later. 🙂
It brings back lots of memories. I just wonder why we no longer see any new movies starring Eddy Murphy.
There’s a new movie on Netflix that I will feature next week. Beverly Hills Cop II. It’s a good one. 🙂
Great movie and I always liked Eddie Murphy! Happy Wednesday! Hugs!
He’s a very funny man and I love this movie. 🙂

aka (A Creative Harbor)
I loved this movie. Wishing you good health, laughter and love. 🙂
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this movie, but it has been a long time ago. But just the other day a movie came on that I watched most of it, and I’d seen it before, too. I think it was called “Rush Hour” which was sort of similar and funny too at times.
Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! <3
I went to this movie with a girlfriend who has since passed away. A fond memory of sharing a movie with a great friend. Happy Wednesday. 🙂
I guess I’m the only one who never liked that movie.
I loved the movie. I laughed and laughed. Eddie Murphy is a funny man. 🙂
Great movie, although I am not the bigger movie watcher on the planet.
Thanks, Sandee, for hosting.

I love a good movie and this one was a great movie. 🙂
that was one of my fav movies at the time!
Mine too. Such a funny movie and I love Eddie Murphy. 🙂
One of my all time favorite movies. Such a hilarious romp that made Eddie Murphy a super star in the mid-80’s. I watch that movie (which I thought was the best of the batch) whenever it’s one and still love it. Great flick and awesome sound track. We used the theme song at the beginning of our home voicemail recording for ages!
That would be a great voicemail recording. Love it. Big hug to you and scritches to the pups. 🙂
It used to crack up the kids’ friends. My mom thought I was crazy. 🤣
Have I seen it? I’m trying to think… I don’t think I have. I remember he had a hit song on the radio when I was a kid… “My girl likes to party all the time.” And I remember a 33 album of his comedy. It was pretty funny. Funny enough that I still remember one of the skits and it was a loooong time ago. 🙂 Have a happy day!
He’s a very funny man with a very distinct laugh. I love him. Happy Wordless Wednesday and rest of the week. 🙂
It certainly was popular. I pray you and Mr. Zane and the kitties have a great week, give the ones with tails some scritches from me.
We’re having a great week. I hope you and Mr. Sweetie are as well. 🙂
A little bit of Detroit fame in that movie; man, that was filmed a really long time ago now.
I love this film. I love Eddie Murphy. 🙂
I like that movie 😀
It’s a great movie. Happy rest of the week, Kinga. 🙂
Oh, wow, this movie is awesome. Thanks for sharing; I’m going to check Amazon.com for a DVD. 🙂 Blessings and hugs, my dear.
It’s a great movie. Hugs. 🙂
I bought the DVD and also that of ‘Trading Places’ thanks to you. 😀 Now, if only my husband would stop playing Youtube videos and watch either with me. lol Hugs to you and yours, my dear.

Your take on Beverly Hills Cop is a great trip down memory lane. I remember when Eddie Murphy’s performance made such an impression. The film’s mix of comedy and action was just perfect, and it’s amazing how it catapulted him to stardom. Thanks for sharing this nostalgic piece, Sandee!

I miss the 90s comedy. Such classics.
I love Eddie Murphy. He’s funny and I love his laugh. 🙂
Such a great movie. I haven’t watched it in a long time but I’ve got it pulled up on Netflix for my Sunday night movie. Eddie Murphy kills me. He’s just so funny! You know a lot of now Hollywood people went to Mumford High, including the guy that did this movie. Can’t wait to watch. Pot roast and Beverly Hills Cop. My evening is complete. Lol. Love you Sandee. I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. xoxo
It’s a great movie to watch again. Love you, Karen. 🙂
