Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
While this epic Indiana Jones movie was filmed in several locations around the world, the Holy Grail itself was hidden in the temple located at Petra, Jordon. The set took an impressive six weeks to build and they use 80 feet of hydraulics to create that iconic earthquake scene.
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is a 1989 American action adventure film directed by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by Jeffrey Boam, based on a story by George Lucas and Menno Meyjes. It is the third installment in the Indiana Jones film series and the sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981). Harrison Ford returned in the title role, while his father is portrayed by Sean Connery. Other cast members featured include Alison Doody, Denholm Elliott, Julian Glover, River Phoenix, and John Rhys-Davies. In the film, set in 1938, Indiana searches for his father, a Holy Grail scholar, who has been kidnapped and held hostage by the Nazis while on a journey to find the Holy Grail. Source: Wikipedia

I didn’t know it either. I love finding out where movies were filmed. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
Great information. I love all kinds of historical movie facts. Thanks again.
I love ancient architecture. It’s great when archeologists can find some intact. And then using them to film a movie! I well remember this one having seen the film several times over the years.
Talk about being authentic!
I agree with you, Wendy. A great movie with a wonderful history. Yes on authentic. 🙂

Not every movie is ones cup of tea. Scritches to handsome Duke. 🙂

Very interesting. One of my favorite movies. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
One of my favorites as well. Going to have to watch them again. You have a wonderful rest of the week, Patrick. 🙂
The original three movies were awesome! Hollywood just can’t seem to make anything as good as they once did. Perhaps if they’d stop filling movies with their diversify agenda and simply entertain us then they’d find their way back to good writing again. 🙂 Fabulous and interesting tidbits about this old film!
I agree with you on that note. I think when they went all politics they lost their mojo. Love and hugs, my friend. 🙂
That was a great movie. I like Harrison Ford
Hugs cecilia
I do too, Cecilia. Love and hugs. 🙂
