The Golden Girls is an American sitcom created by Susan Harris that aired on NBC from September 14, 1985, to May 9, 1992, with a total of 180 half-hour episodes, spanning seven seasons. With an ensemble cast starring Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty, the show is about four older women who share a home in Miami, Florida. It was produced by Witt/Thomas/Harris Productions, in association with Touchstone Television. Paul Junger Witt, Tony Thomas, and Harris served as the original executive producers.

The show, featuring an ensemble cast, revolves around four older single women (three widows and one divorcรฉe) sharing a house in Miami. The owner of the house is a widow named Blanche Devereaux (McClanahan), who was joined by fellow widow Rose Nylund (White) and divorcรฉe Dorothy Zbornak (Arthur) after they both responded to an ad on the bulletin board of a local grocery store a year before the start of the series. In the pilot episode, the three are joined by Dorothy’s 80-year-old widowed mother, Sophia Petrillo (Getty), after the retirement home where she has been living has burned down. Source: Wikipedia

I used to watch this show all the time. A girl at work had a birthday party for her mother and her and her sisters all dressed up as different characters from The Golden Girls.

  3. Suzana says:

Probably a good series with a lot of lights and jokes.
Even I do not know them, I’ll keep in mind the idea!

  8. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

I have never seen that show on TV, but when we went to Disney World they had a mock up of the studio showing episodes.
I forgot it was Wednesday and haven’t done a post. I will try and post now and again but it most likely won’t be on a regular basis for the time being. I want to concentrate on getting my boys Friday posts up as I have never missed one.

I stream the Golden Girls all the time. There’s nothing negative and it just makes me laugh. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I love Blanche. – โ€œI swear with God as my witness, I will never pick up another man!โ€ฆ in a libraryโ€ฆ on a Saturdayโ€ฆ unless heโ€™s cuteโ€ฆ and drives a nice carโ€ฆ Amen.โ€ – I may have been Blanche in another lifetime. Lol. Happy Wednesday, Sandee. Love you bunches!

I used to LOVE that show and I remember when I was YOUNG watching it, thinking that I wanted to be like them. Well………now I’m not far from their age and I don’t think I’m nearly as hilarious as they were!
