WW is a simple blog post featuring a photo which conveys a message that speaks for itself without using words.
For all the rule breakers, of which I am one, please feel free to add all the words you want.
Make sure you leave a link to your post and I’ll visit your Wordless Wednesday post.
Gstaad, Switzerland
From Verbier to Courchevel, Europe certainly has no shortage of glamorous ski towns that attract an ultra-high-net-worth crowd. Old world and impossibly gorgeous, Gstaad has long been a favorite of Monegasque royals—in fact, Andrea Casiraghi and Tatiana Santo Domingo got married here back in 2014. For those without a standing invite to Valentino’s chalet, the only place to stay is at its grandest dame hotel: Gstaad Palace, which has been owned and meticulously operated by the same family since it opened in 1913.

What a gorgeous view! I remember reading about Gstaad in the 1960s. It was a celebrity hangout even then, favoured by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Happy Wednesday, Sandee! Thanks for hosting the link-up.
I would love to explore this beautiful place. Have a great Wordless Wednesday, Debbie. 🙂
It looks beautiful but I would think very expensive. I would prefer to go in the summer when it is warmer!
I’m sure it is. If the rich go there then it’s to expensive for me. 🙂
How pretty. I think that hotel kind of ruins the scene though. It may be grand but it doesn’t fit with the rest of the look.
I didn’t notice that, but you have a point, Ann. 🙂
It’s just fabulous!
It sure is. It’s magical. 🙂
Only in Switzerland! I’d happily be there now.
Anonymous aka Keith’s Ramblings!
Thanks for letting me know, Keith. 🙂
That makes two of us. 🙂
Whoa! Who needs words with something as beautiful as this? Happy New Year!!
I don’t think you need words, but the history if fascinating. Happy New Year. 🙂
That is really beautiful. I agree with Ann Thompson – the hotel looks amazing, but kind of too big and grand compared to the rest of the buildings. Happy Wednesday, Sandee!😊
It does look a bit out of place, but I think I just looked at the hotel and not at anything else. Happy Wednesday. 🙂
Beautiful place but probably not in our budget! Interesting how it looks like a very tall castle.
I know it’s not in our budget. It’s beautiful though. 🙂
I’ve always wanted to visit Switzerland since I read Heidi as a little girl. This hotel is probably a bit beyond my budget, though it certainly looks glamorous.
I’ve always wanted to visit too. Hubby has been there. 🙂
Now that LQQKS beautiful what a lovely photo 🙂
Happy New Year Sandee and Best Wishes for 2024 👍
It’s a beautiful place that I can’t afford. I hope you have the very best 2024, my friend. 🙂
That is a beautiful scene, Sandee! Happy Wednesday!
It sure is. Happy Wordless Wednesday, my friend. Hugs. 🙂
WOW, so impressive and I just love the scenic backdrop!
It’s a beautiful place. I would love to check out the hotel. 🙂
For those who dig snow and skiing, this looks fab!
I’d like to visit in warmer weather.
I hear you. I’m not a skier, but I would love to be in the lodge with a hot chocolate and a good book. 🙂
That would be a nice place to visit. Thank for hosting. Have a great day. XO
It sure would, Ellen. You’re welcome for the hosting. Have a great day, Ellen. Scritches to the kitties. xo 🙂
That’s very pretty with the sun glow building!
It sure is very pretty. Happy Wordless Wednesday. 🙂
I’m probably not in the ultra-high-net-worth crowd.
I know I’m not in that crowd either. I’m good with that. 🙂
Absolutely stunning!
The backdrop is incredible!
Happy 2024, Sandee!
It’s a beautiful place. Happy 2024, Veronica. 🙂

Well, if there’s one place I’d love to stay while there, it would be this gorgeous hotel. How awesome that it’s been in the family for so long.
Same here. I couldn’t afford it, but I would stay there if I could. 🙂
Very beautiful! I would love to visit one day. I hope you are enjoying your weekend. 💕
I would love to explore here too. So beautiful. 🙂
Okay, first, I need to be on the top floor facing that mountain. Second. It’s just sooooo beyond beautiful. In reality, you could stick me in the basement I’d just be so happy to there! I bet it looks amazing inside.
Let’s both be on the top floor facing the mountain. We’d have a great time together. Love and hugs, Karen. 🙂
