Black Ivory Coffee – More than $500/pound – This coffee is made from Arabica beans by the Black Ivory Coffee Company in Thailand. Similar to civet coffee, it is prepared by elephants that consume the Arabica coffee beans and process them during digestion. Their stomach acid breaks down the bean proteins and provides a characteristic robust flavor to the drink. This coffee is rare and expensive because only a small amount of beans are available at any time. You need to shell out about $50 for a cup of black ivory coffee which makes it currently the most expensive coffee in the world.
Coffee…the elixir of life. Even my pet rocks agree.
Yes it is, but not this coffee. Tell Seymour that I love him. 🙂
Is drooooooling the same as wordless ‘cos that photo might have made me drool…a bit…oophs!
Loves and licky kisses
Princess Leah xxx
You like coffee Princess Leah? I didn’t know. Loves and licky kisses back. 🙂
I love coffee but $50 is beyond what I would pay for a coffee especially one that passed out by elephants! Lol!
Me too, Nancy. It’s crazy. 🙂
I’m all for a good cup of coffee but I’m too cheap to even pay for a Starbucks so this one is WAY beyond my budget. That’s kind of crazy that anyone would pay that much for just one cup of coffee.
We don’t go to Starbucks either. Our coffee at home is just as good and way less fattening. 🙂
Not sure I’d want that expensive stuff but I do love my morning coffee.
Me too and I’d never spend that much on a cup of coffee. Never. 🙂
That’s crazy! For $50 a cup which is about 200 ringgit, I can have a grand buffet in a 5-star restaurant in Malaysia!
Me too and I’d rather have the 5-star meal any day. 🙂
My mom doesn’t even like coffee, so she finds it crazy to spend any money on the stuff. She is happy with a glass of water.
There are some expensive coffee around, but I’ve never heard of this expensive. 🙂
Yikes on that prices, WOW!
I’ll pass on that price and the elephants participation. 🙂
A perfect way to describe one’s love affair with coffee. Speaking of which, I gotta go make my first cup of the day. Have a blessed week.
I’m having my second cup right now. 🙂
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Sandee are you speaking my language today. I’m a coffee lover and I drank it
w/o any fixings.
Hugs Cecilia
Yes coffee is a wonderful thing, but not this coffee. Hugs back. 🙂
That is a coffee I have not heard of. I have heard of one that wild cats eat the beans and poop them out. I will pass on both. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day! And thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday. XO
I’ll pass on both too. Yikes. You’re welcome for the birthday wishes. 🙂
Meowser and good morning, Ms. Sandee! Pops always begins his day with a big cup of coffee… Mom and I sniff with enjoyment, but I’ve never been offered any and mom purrfers tea…. I must add that I have never seen a heart in Pops’ cup.
Purrseidon
If you’re paying that much for a cup of coffee I’m guessing it better be very eye appealing. 🙂
Hubby is a coffee drinker. While I prefer tea ((Hugs))
I love my coffee and so does hubby. He also loves his tea. 🙂
Though I love my coffee, I think I’d pass on that one! 🙂
I’m passing on this coffee too, Jan. Way too pricey for me. Then there is the elephant issue. 🙂
Ooh, I do love coffee. Just sat down with a nice cup, and all ready to wrok! 🙂
Thank you for hosting, Sandee. Happy Wednesday!
I’ll have my coffee at home. It’s less expensive and hasn’t gone though and elephant. 🙂
Agreed! I’m more than happy to make my own at home or at work. 🙂
Wow…..super expensive and the processing method is just YUCK!!!
The Florida Furkids
Yes it is and it amazes me that people want to buy this coffee. Yuck indeed. 🙂
I love a good cup of coffee; but $50 for one cup of coffee? And one that’s made in the digestive tract of an elephant yet? No. Just NO.
I’m with you. I wouldn’t want any either and for the same two reasons. :_
That’s coffee I can do without.
That makes two of us, Binky. 🙂
Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Elephant poop coffee. Nope. I don’t even care about the price because that could just be a one time only super special thing but the fact that it’s elephant poop. Nope. And suddenly, my own cup of coffee doesn’t look or taste that great at the moment…
Sorry I mess up your morning coffee. I just thought this was very weird. 🙂
Love my coffee but Starbucks is the most I’d spring for! Happy Wednesday!
I don’t go to Starbucks either. We have coffee at home. 🙂
Yes, we have a 12 cup coffee maker and I love it. First thing in the morning, I punch that magic button.
I do the same. 🙂
Mmmm, liquid Nirvana.
Yes it is. I agree. Not this kind of coffee, but my kind. 🙂
Orange juice is my morning beverage…..have a Wonderful Wednesday!
I’m having my second cup of coffee now. Orange juice is good too. 🙂
I’ve had some, or at least it tasted like elephant poop. But I didn’t have to pay that much.
I hear you, I don’t want any coffee that’s gone through an elephant first. 🙂
I entered my link. Thanks for hosting!! Not sure I’d pay that much for coffee…maybe if I didn’t know how it was made, but even then, probably not. 😉
Thanks for playing along, my friend. You’re always welcome. 🙂
Nope, I’m not that keen on coffee anyhow! Then again, if someone wanted to treat me, I wouldn’t say no…
Even coffee that’s gone through an elephant? 🙂
That coffee looks deliscious I want some immediately LOL
Have a beantastic WWS ➡
I wouldn’t pay that much though. I do love my coffee. 🙂
Happy Wordless Wednesday!!! That is one expensive cup of coffee. It looks really delicious. Thanks for sharing the wonderful info about this coffee. Have a great rest of your day.
I love posting weird things and this was a weird thing. Have a great day too. 🙂
Sometimes a line has to be drawn–I’ll have TEA instead, please!
I wouldn’t go for this coffee either. 🙂
More than $500 a POUND? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? OMG! Well, I am about the size of an elephant, maybe they should make coffee from ME???!! I could make a fortune! lol!!!! God I love coffee but not THAT much!! xoxo
Yep, that is way out of my price range. I had no idea about this coffee, how it’s made and how expensive it is. 🙂
Well…….that’s a lot of money for coffee beans flavored with elephant poop! Pass, and I don’t even care for coffee in general! 😀
The elephant is the part that got me. Probably why it’s so expensive. 🙂
So very nice but I wouldn’t spend that much. Way to expensive.
I agree, Patrick. I wouldn’t spend this kind of money on a cup of coffee either. 🙂
I’m all for spurging for good coffee, but this might be a bit too much splurging LOL!
Happy Wednesday!
Way too much splurging for me. Happy Wednesday. 🙂
As much as i like coffee, i will stick to my own dark roast, thanks. Happy Wednesday!
Me too, it’s much cheaper and hasn’t been ran through and elephant first. 🙂
Not a coffee drinker but impressive photo ^_^
Happy Day to You,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Love my morning coffee, but not something this high priced. Happy day to you and Ms. Zoe. 🙂
It sounds like someone got a really clever marketing idea. If you paid that much for coffee you would not want to admit that it tasted like elephant dung,
I’m sure it doesn’t taste like elephant dung, but I’m also sure I wouldn’t be able to get past the idea of the process. 🙂
I love coffee and I have even had the civet poo coffee but I don’t think I’d ever try the Black Ivory Coffee at $50/cup.
I know I won’t try this. I can’t imagine paying this kind of money for a cup of coffee. 🙂
I don’t knows…..elephant poop coffee??? I thinks I’ll pass! Maybe I should start eatin’ coffee beans and poops them out…..Ma could make a FORTUNE! Airedale poop coffee! brilliant! BOL!!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Let us know how this works out for you, Ruby. 🙂
MOL we’ll pass on that and stick with the tea!! Happy Wednesday (a little late OOPS!) XOX
Yes, I’ll drink anything rather than this expensive coffee. 🙂
I love my morning coffee, no doubt, but I don’t see me paying $50 a cup for anything but gold.
That makes two of us. Way too pricey. 🙂
Sandee,
I’m working on my third cup of coffee this morning. Love this picture! 😉
We’re in a hotel this morning and hubby just went down to get us coffee. It’s free too. 🙂
There is no life before coffee
I agree. I’m having coffee right now. 🙂
