It’s Wednesday so that means it’s question time. It’s time to ponder and then answer just one question. Okay, you can add all you want as a reason for your answer too. We’d all like that.
So here’s this weeks question: What kind of music do you prefer?
I like all kinds of music, but my favorite is rock, soul and folk. The old stuff when I was a teenager and young adult. Like:
The Beatles
The Rolling Stones
The Who
The Temptations
Deep Purple
The Doors
Creedence Clearwater Revival
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
These are just a few.
We all love the Beatles!
I enjoy the music of: The ABBA, the Bee Gees and Air Supply.
and I love your blog's new color 🙂
Oh the Bee Gees. I forgot all about them. They were great. 🙂
Thank you on the new blog color. It needed some color. 🙂
My favorite is soft rock, like Elton John, Dan Folgerberg, Harry Chapin, etc. and one from your list: Crosby Stills Nash and Young.
There are so many great groups from the past. So many. 🙂
I have a TON of stuff on my Pandora stations but if I could only listem to a very few for ever and ever I would have to have me some Andrea Bocelli. I love any great tenor, especially Andrea Bocelli. Love his pop, love songs and some of the classical. I would also have to have some James Taylor, Billy Joel, John Mayer, some instrumental stuff, heavy on the sax, piano…
Nope. I can't choose. Sorry.
big hugs xoxo
I love Pandora. It has everything. Everything. 🙂
:-f
:-f :-f :-f
I prefer jazz, soundscapes, and trip hop.
I love jazz too. 🙂
Mine is similar taste to yours Sandee virtually spot on y-)
Have a soultastic day :-h
That's why I always like your Music Mondays Steve. 🙂
I like the soft rock. I don't listen to music very much. Happy Wednesday to you Sandee Zane and Little Bit.
Soft rock is good. Rap is crap! 🙂
I like all kinds of music but I don't listen to any music very much, mostly in the car where the Classic Country station dominates the place.
I like some country, but not much. It's an acquired taste and I never seems to acquire that taste. 🙂
I like most of the bands you listed, but I prefer Chicago style blues ( Muddy Waters, BB King, etc…) then classical (Mozart is a fave) Popular music wears thin after awhile for me (except Beatles, can listen to them all day) For Rock Music, I would add the Moody Blues and Eric Clapton to your mix
You've got some good ones here too. I hadn't thought of these. Should have but didn't. 🙂
Andrea Bocelli, U2, Beatles, Paul Simon, Under the Streetlamp, ABBA, and my new favorite: Gavin DeGraw! Love that guy!!!
Roche' likes any young boy band.
smiles, bee
xoxo
Everyone has added some great music to the mix.
Roche is just looking for a hot guy. 🙂
I love all music. Beatles, country music, Caribbean music, show tunes, rock The only type of music are acid rock, heavy rock . How I feel that day will determine my interest of music.
Have a wonderful Wednesday Sandee. See ya.
Cruisin Paul
Pretty much what we all do. Depends on our mood. 🙂
I love all music, even some rap music. It all depends on my mood, Cindy Lauper is one of my favorites, Jimi Hendrix was amazing, the Beatles, James Taylor…so many and really great new music is created every day.
I hadn't thought of Cindy Lauper. She's very good. I met Jimi Hendrix in 1969. Yes there are so many great artists past and present. 🙂
It would be easier to say that i don't like some heavy metal, a few modern jazz pieces, and anything that includes expletives. The rest i enjoy, and what i am listening to at any given time depends on where i am and the mood i am in.
I don't care for the trashy lyrics either. I turn that stuff off. 🙂
CCR, and lots of Contemporary Christian music.
Sometimes I like Classical, when I'm going to sleep.
I too like gospel music. I'd not even thought of that and I should have. 🙂
I like music from my high school days in the 80s plus music that makes me move like Bruno Mars or Pink. I like pretty much all music in one way or another except country and that's because I'm rebelling to having to listen to it all.the.time. as a kid in Kansas!
Happy halfway through the week Sandee! Smooches to Little Bit!
Perhaps that's why I don't really care for much country music. It was what I listened to at home all the time. 🙂
We love Abba 🙂
Abba is good. 🙂
my music tastes mirror yours! Have a super musical day!
We are so very much alike on so many things. 🙂
Ok I totally got booted when I was leaving a comment. lol. Being an old fart (I was born in 1955) I agree with the majority of your list, I LOVED and still love the Beatles. I love folk, rock, soul and so many other genres…I just love music!
I was born in 1951. The Beatles are classic and will probably be for a very long time. Sorry you got booted. I hate that when it happens. 🙂
Is there anything but country, the good country not the new that you can't understand, we are talking Garth, George the good ones 🙂
I like some country, but not much of country. Just never acquired that taste. 🙂
Anything that makes me feel like dancing.
This is a fabulous answer. I didn't think of this either, but there are just some songs that you have to dance to. 🙂
This is a tough one because I love so many different styles of music. Right now I'm really into Latin dance – it's great for exercising. When I'm not moving around I have been listening to Taylor Swift and Hozier. I also love Jazz – Norah Jones will always be one of my favorites, and I love the classic swing and old time classics 🙂
I could talk music all day long though.
Have a wonderful day, Sandee!
Toodles,
Tammy<3
There is just so much great music out there and Latin is awesome. 🙂
I like too many to list! Correction, love to many to list… rock, big band, country, classical, R&B, Motown, 80s, and even old tunes like the Mills Bros. my grandparents loved so much have soft spots in my heart. 🙂
Big Band I love and never even mention it. I have tons of Big Band and my grandparents loved it so. 🙂
Country, but not so much of the new stuff. Classic, or even 90s was better. But I really do have an eclectic variety on my iphone. Country, soft rock, singer/songwriter style. Pretty much for me to like it, I have to relate to it. So it cannot be a song about drinking or cheating. I prefer upbeat, inspirational. Positive. My newest favorite is Colbie Caillat's TRY.
I don't like those drinking and cheating songs either. They are depressing. 🙂
I can listen to just about anything but for my favorite it's that old time rock and roll. too many great bands and singers to even list them
You're right about this Ann. There are so many. 🙂
I like everything except heavy country, heavy rap and thrash metal
I can't stand rap and thrash metal either. Some country I can take. 🙂
It depends on my mood. Love most anything except rap krap and opera. Mostly listen to modern country (not my parents twangy stuff), all you listed, and easy listening stuff. Gotta have my tunes!
Great question. Big hugs, honey…
I'm not into opera. Just don't care for it at all. 🙂
Oh gosh, this a difficult one to admit… I'm way more video oriented than audio oriented so my song choices aren't what the cool people seemed to choose. My musical tastes tend to be a little more eclectic.
Whatever we like is a-okay. That's what it's all about. Listening to whatever we like. 🙂
My favorite is 90's music 🙂 love it!
I'm old so I'd have to think on this for a bit. 🙂
Geez, so many things to choose from. 70s rock I like… Classics.
Yep the 70s put out some great sounds. 🙂
I like old rock, and older classical. I guess that makes me old.
I'm old and I like that too Binky. 🙂
All I hear in my sleep these days is One Direction, Taylor Swift, One Republic and on (teenagers). So is it ok that I crave silence when I drive in the car alone?
I do like Taylor Swift. I'll listen to her. I too want silence when I'm driving anymore. 🙂
Oh dear Sandee, I am a music lover. I like many types of music but I believe my heart is most comfortable with the gentle rag-time or Gershwin, music of that era.
I love it. xoxo Catherine
That was a great era Catherine.

I love Carnatic Music of South India and and melodious Gazals of North India.I am also a great fan of Bhajans rendered in Marathi style of western India.
I'm not familiar with this kind of music but I've heard some great music from India. 🙂
Better late than never…Your choices are among my favorites. I like 60's pop & rock, classic rock, jazz, blues, classic country through the early 90's, contemporary Christian, and Southern Gospel.
And you know I love all your gospel music. Yes I do. 🙂
I was a music major… so there are all kinds of symphonic pieces I love. But I don't want to listen to them, I want to PLAY them. I like so much… Sinatra, The Psychedelic Furs, Rush, the hipster dinner party pandora station… Just about anything. Except Dylan and Jazz actually. Go figure!
I didn't know you were a music major. That rocks. Really.
I've a friend that can't stand Jazz. She says it wears on her very last nerve. 🙂
I like music that calms me down, makes me feel alive and happy. It doesn't have to be one particular genre or even language!
Music has different meaning for different people. Music makes the world go around. 🙂
I like all sorts of styles. My favourite though is probably 70's rock from my teenage era
I loved that era too. I was in my early 20s then. 🙂
I’m eclectic. I like all kinds of music but my favorites usually come from the 70s and 80s because that’s when I used to listen to music for hours and hours. I was a teen and then after that I worked at the post office and used radio headsets to shut out the machine noise.
