I’m thankful that today is Saint Patrick’s Day. I love all things about this day of celebration. Especially all things that are green. I also love corned beef and cabbage, but will pass on the green beer. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I’m thankful for my caring husband that will do whatever needs doing for his family. He’s had a difficult several weeks, yet he’s always right there to take care of whatever needs attention. This past Saturday hubby had the difficult task of putting mother on hospice care. It’s what she wants and at 96 I can’t blame her. Her quality of life is poor at best and with losing her daughter on February 23rd, she’s just given up.
I’m thankful that we visited a yacht club that we had been a member of several years ago. An issue took place and we left the club. This coming Saturday we’ll rejoin the club we love so much. What club? Ebony Boat Club. There isn’t a nicer group of people anywhere.
I’m thankful that the weather is again warming back up after several weeks of rain. We need the rain, but the sun and the warmth are most appreciated.
What are you thankful for today?

We are just thankful for all of our friends, especially Sandee and Zane. Hope you get lots of corn beef and cabbage today. SAndee, you and Zane have a wonderful day today.
We've already had corned beef and cabbage twice. Hubby wanted meatloaf so that's what's for dinner. 🙂
So sorry to read about your MIL. That must be difficult.
She's 96 and has lived a good long life. She missed her daughter. 🙂
Hurrah for St. Patty's Day. I'll have to remember to wear green or my kids will pinch me! 🙂
Wishing you and your husband peace. I know it's hard to put a loved one in Hospice, I'm thankful that Hospice is so wonderful to people they care for, at least that has been my experience with both of my grandparents.
Hubby is doing pretty good, but mom is still here. When she's not that will be different. 🙂
Sending great big hugs to Zane and you. xoxo
Thank you Barb. I'll let him know. 🙂
I am thankful for YOU! green hugz and kisses!!! HAPPY ST PATTYS DAY my friend! xoxoxox 🙂
Right back at you Angel. I love you bunches. 🙂
Mmmm….corned beef and cabbage! Sounds delicious. Have a great St Paddy's day!
And it was delicious. We had carrots and potato too along with Irish soda bread. It was a feast. 🙂
My prayers for peace of mind to your MIL and in turn your hubby.
Nice you're returning to your favorite Yacht Club.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Thank you so much my friend. 🙂
I'm so sorry about Zane's mother. His heart must be breaking at this time. My prayers will be for him and his mother at this time. I lost my mother two years ago and I still feel the hurt with the loss of mom.
Have a prayerful Thursday Sandee & Zane. See ya my friends.
Cruisin Paul
Thank you Paul. She wasn't doing as well today as she was on Tuesday. She seems much weaker. 🙂
My thoughts are with you and Zane during this difficult time. I'm glad you are going back to your favorite yacht club. I'm thankful it's going to be sunny today after days and days of rain. I get to go out in it too for a haircut this afternoon! Yay! Can't wait to get out of the house for awhile!
Hope you have a Happy St Patrick's Day!
I'm enjoying the sun too. We had a lot of rain too.
Thanks for your kind words. 🙂
The joke is on them. I don't have any clothing that is green so I can't wear anything today.
Well, I hope that works out for you. 🙂
Oh my gosh I am so sorry. It is hard putting someone you love in Hospice, even if it is the right thing to do. Hugs my friend and hope you a fun St Patrick's Day!
It's the right thing to do but it doesn't make it any easier. 🙂
I am thankful that your blog reminds me to be thankful every Thursday.
The Hospice is choice is a hard choice. Give your husband an extra hug from your friends in the blog community.
Extra hugs are always welcome. 🙂
the sun is shining, my sweetie and I are enjoying the beginning of yet another lovely day together and family members who have needed to change life styles are FINALLY getting help. Big hugs to you and Zane! Have a lovely St. Paddy's Day!
Thanks Kathe. Getting help is a good thing. 🙂
Wishing you and family members peace and health. Good to know that you are back with the boat club. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Thank you Nancy. You are very kind. 🙂
I am thankful that I am finally back in the blogging world again. I loved it so much and just let it get away from me for a while. I'm also thankful that I'm getting to reconnect with all the people I miss interacting with through it.
Welcome back and get busy writing that book. 🙂
Sorry to read about your mother in law sometimes it is very hard doing what is best but the right thing to do 🙂
Best wishes to you both
Steve
It had to be done and it's what she wanted. That does make it a bit easier. 🙂
Sorry to hear about your husband's difficult time of late. None of us gets away without sorrow. It's hard to feel thankful some days.
I always feel thankful, but there have been too many bumps in the road lately. 🙂
I'm thankful for the yummy Ruben sandwich I had for dinner 🙂
Oh a Ruben sandwich. Now I'm hungry for one. 🙂
Continued love and hugs. She's lived a good long life. She's ready. I'm thankful today for sunshine. We have it.
She is ready. She has told us that, all the nurses that and hospice that. She's ready. 🙂
Boating season is almost here! I just wrote something about Natalie Wood's death for an upcoming blog post…and I dreamed about being on a boat last night!
Boating is a fabulous way to enjoy long weekends. We love all things boating. 🙂
Your family will be in my prayers at this most difficult time.
Today i'm glad i got to wear green!
Thank you my friend. I know prayer is an intricate part of your life. 🙂
I am so thankful for you and that you don't give up on me. Thank you for your friendship. Much love and hugs.
Lydia
You've been in my reader for many years Lydia. I won't give up on you. 🙂
Thankful my pet rock, Seymour, got to spend time with y'all. He's pestering me for a return trip. I'm thinking April 😉
April works for us. Just send him and we'll be waiting. 🙂
That must be very hard on your husband and his mother. A difficult time indeed.
I'm sure it is. Hubby doesn't say much about it and mother just says she doesn't want to think about it. 🙂
96 my goodness, God love her. My heart is just breaking about her losing her daughter and your husband losing his sister. Hoping you had a wonderful St.Patrick's Day!!! catchatwithcarenandcody
She's tired and wants to be with her daughter. It's okay. Her quality of life isn't all that good. You're so sweet. 🙂
I'm sending you and Zane extra love and hugs, honey. Losing a parent is a tough thing to go through, but at 96, it is time. Xoxo
I agree, her quality of life is dismal at this point. 🙂
