Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

I’m thankful for rain. We had two days and nights of gentle rain. We are so happy about that. We live in a desert in central California. The average rainfall here is 13 inches per year. That’s not very much when the average rainfall in the U.S. is 38 inches. We love it when it rains. Our air was filled with smoke from fires and dust from knocking nuts. The fresh air is amazing.

I’m thankful that we turned off the water for our lawn. We’ve not done it this early in years. We know this winter will be mild, but the rain is most welcome anytime it wants to show up.

What are you thankful for today?

we are also thanksful for the rain we have gotten for the past 3 weeks, and the fact the monsoons are gone and as we watched the hurricanes out there right now we will be thankful if they pass us by. rain is the giver of life

Wonderful thankfuls. Rain is very important. We had a dry summer, but we have been getting more rain lately. Have a great day. XO

Glad you had some needed rain. We’ve been having a lot of rain, probably double what we usually get over Winter. But at least the dams are getting filled up. Enjoy the rest of the week Sandee.

Yeah! Rain! We had a couple of weeks of heavy smoke and when the rain came and washed all the gunk of the air Mom (and our neighbours) were out standing in the it laughing and talking! Even I, Marvelous sat on the deck and got wet! What a wonderful thankful! We hope you have a marvellously happy week Sandee! Whisker kisses, Marv

I’m so glad you finally got some much needed rain! We’ve been in a moderate drought here in NH too, but we’ve had a lot of rain over the last few days. Hopefully that means we’ll be back to normal before heading back into winter.
And I wouldn’t want to complain about the rain then, but rainy days are challenging when you have two puppies in the house!! LOL

Splish splash! Yay! Just got my PC back and it will take me awhile to get it set up as I had to have
a new release done…argh. It will be a week I bet before I have figured it all out! xoxoxo

We’ve had a spot of rain the last couple of days too (as well as right crisp temps). Since we only receive anywhere from 8-15 inches a year ourselves, rain is a blessed commodity for which I too am exceedingly grateful. The cleansed air is an absolute bonus! Hugs and tail wags from all of us at the Ranch.

  8. Memories of Eric and Flynn says:

We get so much rain here that we get fed up with it, but after this year’s very high temperatures and drought conditions we were glad to see it come back. Rain has it’s own special smell. We need a lot more yet because the reservoirs are still very low.

  9. messymimi says:

I’m so happy for your rain. Having never lived in a desert, we generally have tgis problem in reverse.

It’s such a joy having you as a blogging friend and more. Hugs!

I am so glad you had rain! It was certainly needed. Watching the news of the fires has been scary and worrisome. I do hope they are not near you. We did get some here out on the East coast for the past couple of days. It’s been dry here, but thankfully no fires like there has been out there. I’m thankful for so much…it’s hard to list all of it. Right now, health would top my list. For my family, friends, and self!

Not to sound facetious, but knocking nut dust is a thing? I’ve read about dust storms from lawn grass farm harvests in Oregon. It all makes me grateful for my Ohio climate. I hope everyone needing rain gets some. Stay safe! ~hugs~ Thank you for all the love you spread.
