Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

Today I’m thankful for air conditioning. It’s been hot here and I can’t imagine not having air conditioning. I was thinking the other day that the first car I had didn’t have air conditioning. I rolled the windows down and did just fine. To old for that now.

I’m thankful for all the flowers we having in our home. They are all silk and require very little care. Flowers make me smile.

I’m thankful that Brian of Brian’s Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. In these trying times it’s good to stop and look at all our blessings. There are many.

What are you thankful for today?

I’ve never like air conditioning. Then again it’s not as hot here as it is where you are. I never used to use it in my car and Wade always wanted it on. We had to compromise and go a little ways with it on and then turn it off and roll down the windows for a while.

    Sandee,

I’m VERY thankful for AC. I remember our first car without air conditioning, as well. I wouldn’t say I did fine but I survived. Traveling for hours was the hardest. The heat was bad and sitting on those sticky, hot, vinyl seats was terrible! I love having AC! 🙂

  3. My GBGV Life says:

Growing up Mom didn’t have a/c as her dad said it wasn’t necessary so she would plan lots of sleepovers at friends houses that had a/c. Her first car didn’t have it either and she would never want to be without it these days. This year has been cold so we have only used it for a couple days, but it is there when we need it!

AC is at the top of my thankful list. I lived for 40 years without it and suffered during the summer months in our deep hot south. I pray I never have to live without it again… my first car was a 56 chevy and had no ac OR power steering, I am also thankful for power steering. I might not be strong enough to drive that car now

Ours is running right now and it’s wonderful. I hear you on the car. I had a Chevy Impala without air. I doubt it had power steering either, but I don’t remember. 🙂

Yes, air conditioning is a wonderful thing.
We have a few window units to cool various zones.
There is always a time span in deep Summer when the overnight temps and humidity are high, and those are tough but they don’t last.
Truly, the worst that summer can throw at me is nowhere near my horror of winter!!!

  6. Tails Around the Ranch says:

I will be grateful once the service company starts mine up. Till then I’ll be found sitting in front of a floor fan and praying/hoping I can last until July 5 (oye) without melting. 😬 Stay cool.

    Great thankfuls Sandee.
Neither of us had central a/c growing up. the apartment rented after our marriage had it. We both vowed to never be w/o again. FOr sure it is a necessity not a luxury.
    Hugs Cecilia

AC is a must for me in Florida. I’m from New York and when I had my first car, it didn’t have AC but it was fine. Now, I couldn’t live without it. Happy Thursday!

    Happy Thursday! <3
A/C is a must here, too. When I was a kid we had what we called a swamp cooler. Water saturated straw filters then as the air blew over them it would cool the house. Some rent houses we had had refrigerated air coolers in the windows, but now we have central a/c. One summer ours went out and it was horrible until we could get it fixed.

Thankful for today’s rain and yesterday’s sunshine! Thankful for hubby who keeps things going inside and outside at our place. Have a great weekend, Sandee! Can’t believe it’s Thursday already…

We could use some rain here. It’s so dry. We both have wonderful husbands. Happy day and I can’t believe it’s Thursday either. 🙂

Such wonderful thankfuls, it’s been darn hot here too. Thanks for the shout-out too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

  13. The OP Pack says:

Mom says she would have a very hard time living without a/c in the hot summers. But as a child she was lucky if her family even had one fan. She never seemed to mind the heat as a child and loved sleeping on the screened porch on hot summer nights.

Yay on the AC. No cruises. Every time we plan one something happens or the weather is in the triple digits like it’s going to be today and into the weekend. 🙂
