Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

Today I’m thankful for my neighbors. We are close to three different neighbors and it’s nice to know they watch out for us when we’re gone and we watch out for them when they are gone.

I’m thankful that the neighbor across the street is back home after having bypass surgery. I talked her into walking with us several months ago and she religiously did. Her cardiologist said if she hadn’t been walking she would have had a massive heart attack. She didn’t, but the walking helped them figure out she needed bypass surgery. So thankful.

We got a text from her this morning to let us know she’s doing well, but has a long way to go. She’s looking forward to walking with us again when she’s able. Made hubby and I smile.

What are you thankful for today?

I grew up in a neighborhood that was friendly. Everyone knew everyone and people would get together for coffee or just stand outside and talk. I miss having that. No one does that around here.

We are thankful for our wonderful neighbors too. A group of us have been here for a long time and we all hang together and help each other out when needed. Apaws to you for helping your neighbor start walking. Hopefully she will recover from the bypass surgery and be able to lead a healthy life going forward.

all of our great neighbors like you have died or went in nursing homes, for the past 10 years we have only the opposite of great neighbors, that happens when homes go to rentals and we now have not so good neighbors..
I am thankful for Beau back to normal and for all my blog friends who supported me so well during the past 10 days

    • Sandee says:

Oh rentals aren’t all that great indeed. We had a horrible neighbor behind up, but they moved and we did the happy dance when they moved. I’m thankful Beau is back to normal. 🙂

Apparently we saved her life without knowing it. I was the one that asked her to walk with us. I had no idea at the time. You have a lovely week too, Jen. 🙂

How wonderful that you have great neighbours and that you saved your neighbour from having an heart attack by walking with you. We have nice neighbours but are not that close. Still I’m grateful I live in a quiet street in a nice suburb of our city of Perth. Enjoy the rest of the week Sandee.

We don’t socialize, but we stay in touch and when any are going to be gone we keep watch on their home and pick up packages for safe keeping. The UPS employees don’t even question us anymore when we take our neighbors packages. 🙂

It’s good to have neighbours who care about each other. Hopefully, your friend will recover well. Today, being Remembrance Day in Canada and Veterans Day in the U.S., I am thankful for all those brave servicemen and women who fought to keep us safe and free.

We live in a similar neighborhood as yours- everyone pitches in to help others! This is especially wonderful as a lot of neighborhoods are suffering . Take care and have a great day! xxoxoxo

That’s really wonderful and I’m glad she is on the mend and it will be nice when she is able to walk with you again. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

We are looking forward to that. She’s doing well, but has a long way to go and she’s doing what the doctors tell her to do. Thank you for hosting Thankful Thursday. 🙂

    • Sandee says:

She’s doing well and we keep in touch with her son and daughter in law. They have been great keeping us in the loop. We don’t want to be around her for health purposes though. 🙂

I’m glad your neighbor friend is doing better. It’s great to have nice neighbors you know and can count on to watch the house when you’re away. Our neighborhood is the same here.
Hope your Thursday is going good. <3

I am thankful for my neighbors. The building I live in for the most part has friendly folks who help each other when needed. There are couple folks who are a great help to me and make my life so much easier.

I am so happy your neighbor is doing well. The village we live in is 675 people. I may not know everyone’s name, but we all know each other by sight and watch out for each other. I really, really missed that living in the big city. We are thankful for you Sandee and hope you have a marvellously happy evening!

    • Sandee says:

It’s so important that we get along and watch out for each other. You have a happy day and weekend. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marv and a big hug to mom. 🙂

That’s great that you have such nice neighbors. We’ve only lived here for 2 years and about a year and a half of that was taken over by a pandemic. Still, we managed to meet the ones closest to us and they are really nice.

Hope you had a great day.

  13. Xena and Lucy says:

wow, this really points out how important neighbors and interacting can be. Thanks for sharing. This encourages me to further develop the “friendships” I’ve made while out walking and also grooming neighbor’s dogs.
