It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
Today I’m thankful for my neighbors. We are close to three different neighbors and it’s nice to know they watch out for us when we’re gone and we watch out for them when they are gone.
I’m thankful that the neighbor across the street is back home after having bypass surgery. I talked her into walking with us several months ago and she religiously did. Her cardiologist said if she hadn’t been walking she would have had a massive heart attack. She didn’t, but the walking helped them figure out she needed bypass surgery. So thankful.
We got a text from her this morning to let us know she’s doing well, but has a long way to go. She’s looking forward to walking with us again when she’s able. Made hubby and I smile.
What are you thankful for today?

I grew up in a neighborhood that was friendly. Everyone knew everyone and people would get together for coffee or just stand outside and talk. I miss having that. No one does that around here.
I don’t like all my neighbors, but I know them all. We live in a small town and we like that a lot. 🙂
It’s wonderful to have great neighbors!
It sure is and we take great care of each other. 🙂
We are thankful for our wonderful neighbors too. A group of us have been here for a long time and we all hang together and help each other out when needed. Apaws to you for helping your neighbor start walking. Hopefully she will recover from the bypass surgery and be able to lead a healthy life going forward.
She’s doing well, but she has a long time to go. She’s such a wonderful lady. 🙂
all of our great neighbors like you have died or went in nursing homes, for the past 10 years we have only the opposite of great neighbors, that happens when homes go to rentals and we now have not so good neighbors..
I am thankful for Beau back to normal and for all my blog friends who supported me so well during the past 10 days
Oh rentals aren’t all that great indeed. We had a horrible neighbor behind up, but they moved and we did the happy dance when they moved. I’m thankful Beau is back to normal. 🙂
Oh wow that is amazing! Staying as active and healthy as possible really is the key!
Have a lovely rest of your week 🙂
Apparently we saved her life without knowing it. I was the one that asked her to walk with us. I had no idea at the time. You have a lovely week too, Jen. 🙂
How wonderful that you have great neighbours and that you saved your neighbour from having an heart attack by walking with you. We have nice neighbours but are not that close. Still I’m grateful I live in a quiet street in a nice suburb of our city of Perth. Enjoy the rest of the week Sandee.
We don’t socialize, but we stay in touch and when any are going to be gone we keep watch on their home and pick up packages for safe keeping. The UPS employees don’t even question us anymore when we take our neighbors packages. 🙂
I love your thankfuls Sandee!!
I am 1000% sure walking is good for every single cell in our bodies
Give your recuperating neighbor a get well wish for me too
Hugs cecilia
Yes indeed and I just finished my walk. I walk six days a week and rest on Sunday. Works for me. 🙂
I am thankful that my god-daughter from LA was able to visit me for 3 days. We had a ball. I love this kid.
How fun. I’m glad you had a great time. 🙂
It’s good to have neighbours who care about each other. Hopefully, your friend will recover well. Today, being Remembrance Day in Canada and Veterans Day in the U.S., I am thankful for all those brave servicemen and women who fought to keep us safe and free.
I’m thankful for all of them too. I didn’t post about them today, but I’m thankful. 🙂
We live in a similar neighborhood as yours- everyone pitches in to help others! This is especially wonderful as a lot of neighborhoods are suffering . Take care and have a great day! xxoxoxo
It’s a wonderful thing for sure. You have a great day too, Kathe. Love and hugs all around. I’m guessing Miss Lucy is very happy you’re home. 🙂
Lucy sure is happy! She did a happy dance when she got home!
That’s a fabulous thankful!!
It is indeed. She is doing well. 🙂
That’s really wonderful and I’m glad she is on the mend and it will be nice when she is able to walk with you again. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
We are looking forward to that. She’s doing well, but has a long way to go and she’s doing what the doctors tell her to do. Thank you for hosting Thankful Thursday. 🙂
Bless you for being such a good neighbor! Here’s hoping your neighbor recovering from bypass surgery makes a full recovery and is able to walk with you again soon.
She’s doing well and we keep in touch with her son and daughter in law. They have been great keeping us in the loop. We don’t want to be around her for health purposes though. 🙂
I’m glad your neighbor friend is doing better. It’s great to have nice neighbors you know and can count on to watch the house when you’re away. Our neighborhood is the same here.
Hope your Thursday is going good. <3
We are lucky to have such good neighbors. 🙂
Life is so much better with nice neighbors!!
It sure is. We are most fortunate. Scritches all around. 🙂
I am thankful for my neighbors. The building I live in for the most part has friendly folks who help each other when needed. There are couple folks who are a great help to me and make my life so much easier.
I’m happy about that, Patricia. We all need to look after each other. It’s the right thing to do. 🙂
We are on a cul-de-sac with 7 houses and one vacant lot. Everyone is cool except for one idiot hated by all.
We are on a cul-de-sac too. I don’t hate any of my neighbors but a few I avoid. I love you Kismet. 🙂
Happy to hear your neighbor is doing well ~ wonderful grateful ~
Lots of love and hugs to you from me and Angel ~ Xo’s

She is and we’re ever so happy. She’s such a dear. Like you are. 🙂
I am glad your neighbour is doing well, and that you were able to persuade her to walk with you.
It wasn’t hard at all. She didn’t like to walk alone. She came out to walk every single day except Sundays. That was our day off. 🙂
Sandee,I have great neighbors either side of me,they take the Trash and recycle gbins to the curd and place the back in front of my Garage door for me.and one neighbor looks after Screwball when i take a weekend getaway.my Thankful thursday it up.
Scritches to Screwball and I’m glad you have great neighbors too. So important. 🙂
What a lovely story about the neighbor! Today i am very thankful for our veterans.
Me too, my friend. We forgot, but we are thankful for our veterans every day of the year. 🙂
Wonderful thankfuls. I am glad your neighbor is doing well. XO
We are too. She’s such a nice lady. 🙂
I am so happy your neighbor is doing well. The village we live in is 675 people. I may not know everyone’s name, but we all know each other by sight and watch out for each other. I really, really missed that living in the big city. We are thankful for you Sandee and hope you have a marvellously happy evening!
It’s so important that we get along and watch out for each other. You have a happy day and weekend. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marv and a big hug to mom. 🙂
That’s great that you have such nice neighbors. We’ve only lived here for 2 years and about a year and a half of that was taken over by a pandemic. Still, we managed to meet the ones closest to us and they are really nice.
Hope you had a great day.
I’m very outgoing and will say hello to new neighbors. Some want to engage and others don’t. I respect either way. 🙂
My Sista, I am definitely, wholeheartedly thankful for you and everything about you my sista. HUGS
I’m happy about that, Marie. I’m here to help. I know how frustrated you’ve been. Love you. 🙂
It is good to be friends with your neighbors because you never know when you will need them.
Amen to that. We’re very happy with our neighbors. 🙂
That story about the neighbor across the street is awesome! ~hugs~ We live in a great place, too.
I’m so happy with where we live. 🙂
wow, this really points out how important neighbors and interacting can be. Thanks for sharing. This encourages me to further develop the “friendships” I’ve made while out walking and also grooming neighbor’s dogs.
We didn’t realize it until this happened. We’re so happy she had a happy ending. 🙂
