It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
Today I’m thankful for modifying my diet and adding exercise into the mix. I was very lax about both for quite some time. It was showing. I was chunky, had blood work that needed addressing and I would get winded easily. It was because I wasn’t doing enough exercise and eating things I shouldn’t. That was six months ago.
Today, I’ve dropped 10 pounds and walk every morning. I eliminated some not so healthy food and quit snacking between meals. I am no longer winded and feel so much better. At 70 years old I needed to take better care of myself. I’m so thankful that I’m doing that now.

Good for you. It’s so easy to get into bad habits that aren’t good for the health and it’s amazing what a few little changes can make.
So easy to get those bad habits. I’m heading in the right direction. 🙂
I am thankful that we can enjoy our sleep and not worry about meeting our needs.
I’m with you on that, Nancy. 🙂
Good for you. Diet and exercise is really important. We are glad you are tackling the problem in a healthy way.
It sure is and I was not doing what I needed to do. 🙂
We applaud you, Miss Sandee! We know that it’s not easy.
It isn’t and when I don’t want to walk or eat right I tell myself that you’re going to exercise and eat right and then I do just that. 🙂
yay and congrats on the weight loss. exercise is very important. Exercise is great for every thing in our body, from brain to muscle
Yes it is and you’d think I would have not fallen into these bad habits. 🙂
You’re setting a good example for the rest of us, Sandee! Good for you and Happy Thursday!
It’s hard work, but I can see the results already. Gives me determination. 🙂
Thankful that theyhave discovered TLW’s issues… Pacemaker manana.
Good news. Caught it early. Well done, my friend. 🙂
Those are totally purrfect thankfuls and hooray for you! Thanks for joining our Thankful Thrusday Blog Hop!
It’s about time. I’m going to keep up the good work and next spring I’ll be in pretty good shape. I’m happy about that. 🙂
Way To Go Sandee!!! Hubby and I take multiple short walks around our big back yard every day during the warmer months – to avoid getting overheated – but soon (I hope!) the cooler weather will make it possible to do our one or two longer walks again. We need to eat healthier foods, too; but we haven’t reached that point yet.
A wonderful idea. Walking 10 minutes a day can do so very much. Some of the food I was eating wasn’t good at all. They are gone. 🙂
I’m thankful you are taking care of yourself. We’d miss you if you were to go.
I’d miss you if I were gone, Kismet. I love you. 🙂
Sandee,
Hooray for you! The simplest adjustments can make a huge difference in your health. I’m working my way back into a good exercise regime and am trying to eat better. It’s always a struggle, though. Here’s to growing old gracefully, right? 😉
They are making a huge difference. When I don’t want to go for my morning walk I put my shoes on and go. I’m growing old gracefully. 🙂
Standing ovation for you outcome! Well done. Walking is so good for us from head to toe.
I’m thankful that the humidity is less and I don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to take my walk before the sun is fully up
Hugs cecilia
I hear you and I know you care for yourself very well. Now I am. Hugs, my friend. 🙂
boy oh boy I need to follow your lead!!! Well done YOU!!!
I can’t believe the difference six months has made. One step at a time. xoxo 🙂
Good for you Brian! We changed some of our habits- we eat lots less red meat, work out at least 3x a week- we both feel a heck of a lot better and look it too! Cheers!
Sandee- whoopsie- meant to put your name in there…NOT Brians….covid brain strikes again…sorry! xoxoxoxo
It’s okay, I got it. Love you sweetie. 🙂
I was really doing nothing. Now it’s every day. 🙂
Woo-hoo! Wonderful for you! I did that with my diet awhile ago and it made all the difference. I feel better and that is worth a million bucks. Take care and thanks for sharing your success story with us!
I remember when you went to Europe. You were rail thin. I’ll get there. 🙂
Congrats to you for taking better care of your self and that you feel better ~ doing the same here ~ Xo
Lots of hugs and love to you ~ from me and Angel ~ Xo’s

I feel so much better and I can go up and down our stairs just fine. Love and hugs to you both. 🙂
That is pretty interesting in what you have said about health today and that Einstein is thankful that I keep up on the furs health. We have to do our par and at our ages that old adage “An Ounce of Prevention is worth a Pound of Cure” is doubly true. Purrs
We are on the same page. Excellent. Scritches to the kitties. 🙂
Good for you! It’s not easy to make those changes. I’m currently trying a new diet to help my migraines. I’ve lost almost 6 pounds now, so there are other health benefits than just helping my headaches!
Good for the both of us. Smooches to Luke. 🙂
Yay for you! We’ve been eating healthy for a couple of years, with an occasional, purposeful dive into the unhealthy side for special occasions such as a birthday or our anniversary. We’re sure it makes a huge difference in health.
It is making a huge difference. I all in. 🙂
That’s so great what you accomplished! I’m trying to do that now. It’s hard, but not impossible. It just takes time. Good for you! Great job!
It’s been much easier than I thought. 🙂
Very good! I know it’s hard to change habits.
Wishing you a wonderful day! <3
It sure is, but I have new habits now. You have a wonderful day too, Barbara. 🙂
Such a wonderful and important thankful today! I really need to start walking every morning!
Happy almost Friday!
I didn’t like it one bit when I started, but my blood work was scary and I didn’t have a choice. Happy almost Friday to you too. Scritches to the furbabes. 🙂
Kudos for the weight loss! Exercise and watching what we eat can make all the difference in the world. Bet you’re feeling much better as well. Well done!
It sure does and it’s showing. I’m so happy at my progress and I feel so much better. 🙂
Thanks for inspiring me, Sandee! Time to get moving more and give up lots of those empty calories. 😍
I can finally see a difference in my body and I felt the results in the first three months. It’s pretty easy now. 🙂
Yippee! What an accomplishment! YOU ROCK! Being old, our Mom knows exactly how difficult it is to lose the weight compared to when she was young. She says chasing me around helps…We are thankful for our online furrends, especially YOU! We LOVE coming to visit and we LOVE when you leave us comments.
I love all of you too and tell your mom it’s hard to lose weight when you’re older. Scritches all around, a smooch to Marv and a big hug to mom. 🙂
Congratulations on your achievements. We send you wishes for many years of good health and happiness.

Thank you and I’ll do my part to stay healthy. 🙂
Good for you! I have been walking again now that it isn’t so hot and humid and it is wonderful. I am thankful for the change of seasons. I have been better about watching my diet but exercising…still just telling myself I should do it! Maybe tomorrow will be the day.
I just get up and do it every morning. No excuses I just go. It’s a habit now. 🙂
Kuddos to you on all those changes. I really need to go for walks as I get winded easily and I am only 52. XO
I was winded too, but now I’m not and I’m 70. I was really bad. Plus 20 pounds overweight. 🙂
Excellent job! You can do what you set your mind to.
I’m doing it and I’m going to get in great shape. 🙂
Hats off to you on dropping 10 pounds! It’s not easy for anyone. You are an inspiration! 🤍
It sure isn’t easy, but you just have to stick with it. Happy week. 🙂
Hurray for healthier habits! At the age of 52 I’m trying to turn things around a bit. Stay healthy, my dear!
You’re a youngster. 🙂
