It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.
I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.
Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.
I’m thankful for air conditioning. We live in central California and it gets really hot in the summertime. There’s nothing better than coming home to a cool home. I can remember in my youth not having air conditioning in my car. It didn’t seem to bother me much. It sure would now.
I’m thankful that our boat has heat and air conditioning too. I can remember being at a yacht club some years back and our air conditioning went out. It was miserable hot and the longest night ever. Modern conveniences are a wonderful thing.

I’ve never been a fan of air conditioning until a few years ago when the heat started to bother me. I was thinking last night that it might be time to put the little air conditioner in the bedroom window.
I hear you. I grew up on the coast of Oregon and we never had air conditioning. I left there and went to San Diego, CA. Wow was it hot. 🙂
AC is sure nice when the temps get too hot and uncomfy.
We get triple digits here in the summer time. Way to hot. 🙂
Growing up mom’s dad refused to have A/C in the house, said it was a waste in our climate. Mom used to plan sleepovers with friends who had A/C on the weekends when it was hot out. The first thing she did when she got her own place was make sure it had A/C and she cranked it up. It is a wonderful invention.
It’s a most wonderful invention for sure. I love our central air and heat. 🙂
I grew up in the north when no one there had air conditioning, and rode around town with the car windows down. Folks went to the mall (with a/c) to cool down. Even Walmart wasn’t an option then! So yes, living in the south, I am very thankful for the A/C, and will be even more so in a couple more months!
Like Xena and Lucy, I grew up in the north before a/c and it never bothered me as a kid; but as soon as Dad put window a/c units in the house and we got our first cars with a/c, I got used to/addicted to it FAST. Now, living in South Carolina, it’s impossible to get through much of the year without the central air. I can’t even begin to imagine how miserable the cabin must be on a boat without a/c in the summer.
It gets really hot on the boat when we’re out in the sun. Luckily there is air conditioning below and we can sleep in the cool. 🙂
Me too and didn’t even know what air conditioning was until I was almost grown. 🙂
AC is at the top of my thankful list, last night at 6 pm we were still at 92 degrees… summer is upon us. I lived with out AC in car or home until I was 35 years old. I could not do it now. It might kill me.
I couldn’t do it now either and I lived here in my youth. I never had it in my car and I was okay with that. Not now. It would do me in for sure. 🙂
AMEN to the central air conditioning or automatic dishwashers. We were both raised without central a/c but we had window units. Our first apartment after we were married had central a/c and a automatic dishwasher. We felt like royalty.
Hugs Cecilia
We didn’t even have window units when I was growing up. Didn’t need them. Yes having those two things would make you feel like royalty. 🙂
Air cond is a must when the temperature goes up. For the time being, the weather here is not too hot, so a fan will do.
We go from air conditioning to heat here through most of spring. That’s about to end though and it will just be the air conditioner. 🙂
We can’t do without AC in AZ.
I hear you, Kismet. You need to be comfortable at all times. 🙂
Being born and raised in Florida, AC, was a blessing. I remember when my parents first bought our first window unit. We all would gather in the air conditioned room to keep cool. Happy Thursday!
Yes I was in Miami in February and it was mighty hot. 🙂
Thank Cod for AC!
Yes indeed. We agree with you. 🙂
Yes, air conditioning is very important here in TX too in the summer.
I’m thankful that the tornado funnels didn’t touch down here in town this past week!
Have a great day! <3
I’m glad you didn’t get any tornadoes. You have a great day too. 🙂
Air Conditioning is such a blessing, truly! We have had ours on for a month already.
Stay cool 🙂
So have we, but it’s on during the afternoon and all night. Still need the heater in the mornings. 🙂
We love that AC too. When Dad had his Miami Vice boat it was really boiling in that smallish cabin. He put AC in and then had fun all summer long. He is now trying to remember how he did that as it was a difficult engineering challenge but whatever, it worked fine. Happy Thankfuls
I can relate to a boiling hot cabin. Boats out in the sun getting very hot inside. I’m so happy our boat has air conditioning. 🙂
Thankful for modern technology… Especially Facetime and Messenger apps that bring our family together face-to-face over the miles! Thankful for family! 💞 xo
I did liked messenger, but hated Facebook so I dumped it. It’s all good. 🙂
I agree, hooray for modern conveniences, love that AC here in the South too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

Today I am in the office, where the air conditioning is cool and wonderful!
At home, we have none, and with the windows open, it’s rather noisy!
But, I AM NOT COMPLAINING!
I dislike Winter like nobody’s business…
I do too. We could bypass winter every year if it were up to me. 🙂
we never have had Ac until we moved up here to Vancouver WA……and it really is not needed….doesn’t get roasty toasty like where you are! Stay cool! xoxoxo
We have lots of triple digit weather in the summer. Hotter than hot. 🙂
Mama mia- that is HOT! Whew!
What great thankfuls! We would LOVE to have air conditioning, but alas the house was built before AC was common. In the simmer we have a portable AC unit in the living room and Mom is ever so happy that we live on the river, we do often get cool breezes off the river when trying to sleep.
We used to be members of a dark island, so you couldn’t run your air conditioner at night. Hot all night long. Even out on the water sometimes it’s just hot. 🙂
Just back fro the eye doc. Cataract surgery looming…thankful they can do something…. excuse the typos, dilation still going on.
You’ll love the surgery. You won’t believe how well you can see after the surgery. Then new glasses. 🙂
Amen to being thankful for air conditioning, Sandee! I’m one of those people who can tolerate cold much better than heat to be honest. 🙂
Today, I’m thankful for peace of mind and the ability to say no to anything that creates drama, stress, worry, or anxiety. Peace is a gift to be treasured!
Sending endless love to you and yours, Sandee. I hope each of you are well. ♥
Me too, Holly. The heat knocks me out. I do the same with drama, stress, worry or anxiety. Good riddance. Sending endless love back. 🙂
We couldn’t live without air conditioning
Me either and I sure wouldn’t want to. 🙂
Thankful for so much but today…..air condition! haha….last week we in mid 60s, 84 right now and the humidity has appeared. YIKES…not so thankful for that.
I went to Texas one year in early September for a function and the humidity was so bad my ankles were huge. It was awful. 🙂
I am with you on the a/c. The older I get, the more I need it. 🙂 Have a great day. XO
Yes indeed and I’ll be 70 this year. I need the cool. 🙂
Mom says she doesn’t know how she lived as a child without a/c. Now she could not survive without it:) The summers hree get very hot and VERY humid. We too all like to lie on top of the cool vents in the floor.
Woos – Lightning, Misty, and Timber
Yes cool air when it’s hot out is most wonderful. 🙂
Brother-in-Law is supposed to move out tomorrow, and we can move the A/C from his room to ours (the one in our room gave it up). We can hardly wait…
Oh goody for the two of you. You’ll be cool at night. 🙂
I live in Vermont and it hit 92 today. I’m already ready for fall!
Yikes and it hit 70 here and I live in a desert. 🙂
I am so glad that you have air conditioning too! When I used to drive through that area, it was HOT! Enjoy the rest of your week!
I can’t do hot like I did in my younger years. Tend to stay in when it’s triple digit weather. 🙂
I like your thankfuls! HAvign recently had one of the Solar electricians cut the wire that sends the heat to the fan and having no heat when the temps fell to 39 degrees..I am grateful for the HVAC system too. Glad that all was reolved butmore grateful to be here. Have a terrifici weekend. HUGS my friend
Yes you don’t know how much they mean to us until they don’t work anymore. Hugs for a happy weekend. 🙂
Wonderful thankful shares. I try to rmemeber how important so many things are that we often take fron granted. Thanks for the share. Happy weekend. HUGS and LOVE
Yes and heating and air conditioning are two of those things we take for granted. Hugs and love back. 🙂
We are having a most unseasonal heat wave here in Michigan. Going to be near 90 from today through the weekend. Got our A/C fixed yesterday so I’m with you!
And we’re cold here in central California. 🙂
Yup, this time of year air conditioning is not just a lovely convenience, it can be an absolute necessity! I’m hoping I can wait a bit longer before getting mine turned on. Have a great weekend.
Ours has been off and on for about a month and a half. It’s the way of central California. You have a great weekend too. Scritches to the pups and a smooch to Norman. 🙂
Being positive is a big help when things get tough! Air conditioning is a real blessing.
Thank for stopping by. Have a great week. 🙂
