Thankful Thursday

It’s Thankful Thursday hosted by Brian of Brian’s Home. He wants us to post what we’re thankful for.

I think it’s a good thing to do each week. Focus on the positive things in our lives.

Make sure you link up to the Blog Hop at Brian’s Home and get the code to put on your blog. Then visit all the participants.

I’m thankful that hubby and I have always made sure we have essential things to survive panics that seem to happen often. Hording is such a horrible thing and so many have done just that, leaving the shelves bare for others in need.

I’m thankful that hubby and I are not in a panic over this pandemic. Panic isn’t going to help one bit. Follow the healthcare professionals advice and you’ll do far better.

I’m thankful hubby and I can survive for many weeks by planning to do just that. We have alternative ways to cook and food that can last for years. It eliminates stress for us and always has.

What are you thankful for today?

I’m happy I’m not the only one not panicking! I work in a medical clinic and I’m aware of the risks which we all try to minimise as best we can.
I haven’t been hoarding stuff from the supermarket either, we have enough in our pantry and fruit and some veggies from the garden.
I’m certainly thankful for the internet that enables us to stay connected to family and friends.
    Keep well Sandee πŸ™‚

I’m thankful to be working in a job that is considered essential so that I still have a regular paycheck coming in. I haven’t done any panic buying at all. I’ve bought things as I need them and thankfully so far I’ve been able to get everything I need.

  3. Nancy Chan says:

I am also thankful that we have enough to take us through these 28 days with proper rationing of food. I am also thankful for my monthly pension and not worry about not having a job after this.

  4. My GBGV Life says:

We are fine being home, together with our mom, but we miss our sports and sports friends a lot. Mom always has extra stuff on hand, but not for years, just for a few weeks. She worries about our food, not hers, but we will all be fine. We are thankful to be together and to be healthy.

I have to admit to panic, the past two Saturday when I went to WM and Publix and there was no food to purchase. we do not keep more than 2 weeks supplies ahead, so no fall back for us. WM came through for us with senior hours on Tues/Wed and the store was stocked. I am a planner, I do things weeks before I need to and this not being able to plan and not being able to go makes me crazy. I am thankful I had the money to stock up and was able to walk and drive to get supplies. thankful for blog friends that help me fill the day…

The Hubby and I have been sanguine about this pandemic, but I hide my despair by working from home in another part of the house from him. Thankfully, I have Sweetie up here with me, and she is aptly named! I feel lucky to have her purr for me, and hokey smokes, she’s a head-butter!

Those are terrific thankfuls and being prepared is such a blessing. We were ready too except the paper towels didn’t work out too well. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

    • Sandee says:

We got a package of Costco paper towels this morning. No toilet paper to be had, but we don’t need any toilet paper. We’re good. πŸ™‚

You and Zane are very smart- R and I are ok for about 6 weeks, then I will have to go out and shop. Our stores here have senior hours so we can get in and out easily with no crowds. Hoarding is ridiculous. I truly do not get it.
Take care and be safe and healthy! All 3 of us sends hugs and love!

    • Sandee says:

We’ve gone out a couple of times during the senior hours. We’re happy about that. Some things only last so long, like milk and salad makings. We can do without those if need be and assess the medical issues in our area before we venture out. πŸ™‚

Hi Sandee, right now I am thankful that I live in Greece. We lead such a simple life that the strict rules enforced during these difficult times haven’t affected day to day life too much. I am also thankful that even though my parents may well be stranded abroad that they are safe, well and still upbeat… Stay safe and stay positive everyone!

I’m glad you guys are set up okay food-wise, and hopefully you have everything else you need or are able to get it without too much trouble. It’s already getting very difficult over here and it’s awful to think how many are struggling, how woefully unprepared our countries are. Use common sense and follow the government and medical guidance, that’s all we can do. Stay safe & well xx

  11. Dakota/Caren/Cody says:

we haven’t hoarded at all, no need to. I stocked the freezer……..we also shop as needed but are going out way less. There are many things we can do without. I also have ZERO trouble with the quarantine…..while some think I am super outgoing (and in person I put on my outgoing game face), I am actually more introverted than many would think. Have always hated huge crowds of people, always preferred one-on-one interacting and often would withdraw from any social interaction outside of my family home base. I was single for many, many, many (did I say MANY? lol) years so I learned how to be REALLY alone and to find peace with it. I feel sorry for people who are constantly running, constantly eating out, constantly seeking outside entertainment. Those people are having a miserable time adjusting. That being said I DO miss my granddaughter but we see her on Facetime and photos. Stay safe! xoxo

  12. 15andmeowing says:

I love your positive attitude. We are the same way. No need to panic, this will pass like everything else. XO

  13. Cecilia Upchurch says:

Bravo Bravo Sandee…I 100% agree. After 3 weeks we finally found tp shelves well stocked at Wegmans.
We are good now…in need of nothing and most thankful for our health
    Hugs Cecilia

The media is panicking enough for everyone. We also have taken measures to be able to weather these types of situations. We even have a stockpile of dried food and emergency supplies if/when we are hit by a tornado. I guess my years of living in Nebraska has stuck with me as I tend to buy extra groceries/necessities around November to ensure enough supplies to last through a rough winter. Take care, my friend and be safe. xoxox

    • Sandee says:

I refuse to listen to the media. It really doesn’t take a lot of work to make sure you’re prepared for things. Be safe too, Lisa. πŸ™‚

  15. Jen says:

But do you have toilet paper? Geesh who knew about that? I am happy you are so well planned for and can stay removed from the crazy, because boy-oh-boy!

    Take care!

  16. XmasDolly says:

I’m thankful that thus far my family & friends are all doing well. Keep up the good work is what I say. I’m also thankful for prayers that everyone takes it seriously and prays to the good Lord for guidance & help. I’m also thankful that the people haven’t gone bonkers with regard to this virus & is staying home until the dark is gone. Thanks to everyone for holding their own. Hi Girlfriend, I hope & pray everyone stays calm in your neck of the woods and that maybe this is a good thing that the family will be a closer unit. Take care my lovely because I care. Sending lots of hugs… oh what the hell and a kiss kiss too! Luv ya….

    • Sandee says:

Hubby is the one that’s always been on top of this. He taught me how to do things when there isn’t any way to use your stove, toilet and a laundry list of other things. πŸ™‚

  17. Anne Robinson says:

We are prepared too. I am appalled at the hoarding. Glad the stores like Sams and Costco have said no refunds or returns on big ticket items bought in bulk. It is such a difficult time but trying to stay calm and safe and healthy. Stay safe and healthy and take care. Thank you for all you do for us too. HUGS

    • Sandee says:

Yes I’m happy about all those folks that will want to return stuff won’t be able to. You take care and stay healthy too. Big hug. πŸ™‚

  18. Jan K says:

I’m thankful my hubby works in the grocery industry, so I know we’ll be OK (but not grateful about how hard he’s having to work right now to keep up with demand). I have my moments of worry, but have not panicked. It’s been disruptive, ruined some big plans I had, but in the end as long as we stay healthy, I’ll be grateful. β™₯

    • Sandee says:

Yes the stores are pretty bare here. Costco is getting back to normal, but yesterday there wasn’t any toilet paper. We didn’t need any, but still. Stay healthy. Smoochies to Luke. πŸ™‚

  19. Bette A. Stevens says:

Thankful for hubby Dan and for all we need to keep us going here home for a long hibernation. We too, are always ready for emergencies. Thankful for family and friends who keep in touch with us regularly online and by phone. πŸ™‚ xo

  20. Magical Mystical Mimi says:

Yessss to all of your thankfuls! People need to chill, followe what the CDC, Dr. Fauci or whoever, is saying and all will be well. I’m so happy you and your hubs have it totally under control. Other people should follow suit! We’ve not run out of anything. We’ve been shopping as normal. We had one scare when my son got sick but it turned out it was only strep so we are thankful for that. πŸ™‚ – xoxoxox
