RIP Little Bit

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.

Rest in peace my baby girl. We love and miss you so much. You will live in our hearts forever. Until we meet again.

Oh Sandee and Zane, I am so sorry. Crying my heart out at the moment. I know just how hard all this for you two. That is such a great post about the Rainbow Bridge and it is a wonderful way of believing about our animals. Maybe Little Bit is up there with Ande. The two girls can bark about their crazy mom's and their blogging. Big hugs to both you and Zane Sandee.

Oh this is just awful, awful news……….I am so terribly sorry….my heart is breaking. I wish I were there to give you a huge hug. Please know that if there is anything at all that you need….I am here. Sending you much love and my deepest sympathy. ((((hugs))))))

Awww I'm so sorry. Here's a poem that always provides at least a little comfort, in addition to the Rainbow Bridge. Our pets our are family and all we can really do is give them the best life possible in exchange for the love they give us.

    A Pet's Peace
    by Tracy M. Johnson

I have left you now, but please don't be sad,
you gave me all the love you had.
You did so much for me in my time here
and i'll always hold those precious times near.

I know someday you'll find love again
and into your life will come a new friend.
Your heart will heal, though you'll never forget
memories like the first time we met.

Memories are wonderful, so keep them close
and remember all the good times the most.
Up in the Heaven for animals is where i'll be
and someday in the future, each other we'll see.

I am at PEACE now, so please don't be sad
You gave me all the love you had.

Having gone through this less than a year ago, we understand. She'll be in good paws, there's a goofy lovely Scottie there to show her the ropes. I hope the tears here stop after a year.

  6. BeadedTail says:

I'm typing through the tears but want you to know how sorry I am for the loss of your Little Bit. I know how much it hurts but I also know the pain will never erase your happy memories of your girl. Sending hugs and purrs.

Sandee, I am so sorry to hear about Little Bit's leaving you. Both Rainbow Bridge and A Pet's Peace posted by Stephanie are both very touching and comforting. Little Bit is in a beautiful, peaceful place. Take care and peace be with you, Sandee.

  9. Binky says:

I am very sorry for your loss, Sandee. Pets can be so important to us, and it is very difficult to lose them. I know you and your husband gave Little Bit the best life she could have had.

  10. Ann says:

I'm so sorry. You are the second blogger this week to have a beloved friend cross the bridge. The quote below was sent to me when I lost Duke and I found it very appropriate

."grieve not, nor speak of me with tears but laugh and speak of me often…as if I were beside you…'twas Heaven here with you…I loved you so…"

    Hugs to you

Dearest Sandee, I am so very sorry for your loss! I have lost pets (mostly cats) in my life and I know that it is never easy, as I always considered them a part of the family. Sending you a warm hug and much love.

  12. Tony McGurk says:

So sorry to hear of your loss Sandee. They are such a huge part of our family that we miss them so much when their relatively short lives end. A beautiful tribute to Little Bit.

  13. "Annie" says:

I love this touching and heartfelt post, Sandee, and I love the painting. It captures Little Bit's elegance. It's so hard to lose a pet. They just do not stay with us long enough, do they? I still think of the beloved pets I've lost, especially on days with rainbows, so the theme of this post really spoke to me.

It also reminds me of a quote by Rumi, "Somewhere between right and wrong there is a garden. I'll meet you there. "

Sending you extra love and hugs,

    Annie

  14. Comedy Plus says:

It's been a hard week. We loved her so.

One of our yacht club members did the painting of Little Bit. She captured her perfectly.

Thanks for the extra love and hugs Annie. ♥♥♥

  15. Allison says:

A belated sorry for your loss of Little Bit. The portrait is beautiful.

We lost our adopted dog in the spring. Two years prior, we lost our guinea pig and our cat.

Pets are family and friends. They're all remembered and missed.

Hugs! Thanks for the visits to my blog.
