Remembering 9-11

I will never forget turning on the television that morning and not believing what I was seeing.

I will never forget the long day that I stumbled through my workday.

I will never forget working on what may happen next and acting accordingly.

The video below still makes me cry. So many little ones waited for their mom/dad/brother/sister or other family member(s) to come home.

It was afternoon in Germany where Mom lived at the time of 9/11. She turned on the car and it was on the radio. She assumed a plane had accidentally hit the tower as having been a flight attendant for eleven years she always disliked how close planes flew to tall buildings on approach. As she drove home she realized it was not an accident. She was glued to CNN for days and was also happy she lived in another country at the time. Such a scary and sad day.

Patriot’s Day is always hard, today being the 25th anniversary is even more so. I still cannot comprehend the perpetrators have not faced justice. So inconceivable. Sending tender thoughts of comfort to the survivors and all those directly impacted by this anniversary.

That day was such a shock for everyone, and one that will always be remembered. I didn’t realize it had been 25 years, when it still seems so vivid in my mind of that day. <3

What a tear jerker! I think of all the children who grew up without a mommy or daddy who never had the chance to fully love them and then I think of kids who did get the chance, instead of loving find constant fault. The second group should be ashamed of themselves because the first set was cheated. Americans need to push back against terrorism at every chance. God bless those directly affected that day and may God bless our country so this will never happen again!

Sandee and Zane…thank you for your dedication to your job to protect and serve…it is truly a life calling. Each time to this day I thank first responders for their service each time I see them when I’m out and about
I will never ever forget either. I’ve been watching some documentaries from survivors over the last few days…may paying tribute to the families of the coworkers who lost their lives.
    Hugs Cecilia

Our Peep has no memory at all of that day. She was in a bad car accident about 5 days before and got a severe head injury. Mom does not remember anything about that winter (she lost about 9 months). She does remember the first anniversary though and was horrified. Keep being awesome!

It is still profoundly sad all of these years later. My students didn’t want to do a mini-lesson on it, but we surely did, and there weren’t many dry eyes in the room when we were done. That day was so very tragic and those who were unfortunate enough to not come home deserve to be remembered.
