Mondays Music Moves Me

Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers? They are bloggers who blog about music each Monday and if you have music to share, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please!) First, there is Marie from XmasDolly. Her co-hosts are: Stacy from Stacy Uncorked, Cathy from Curious as a Cathy, and Alana from Ramblin’ with AM.

We’d love more music lovers to join us. It’s easy! All you have to do is add your link with a music post that contains at least one music video (there must be a music video). And that’s it!

Each month, except December, we have a guest conductor. Today we continue our month of holiday music.

Leigh Haggerwood is best known for his Victorian-themed creation The Florin Street Band which he put together to record an original Christmas song he had written called “My Favourite Time of Year“. Disappointed by the demise of Christmas song writing in the UK, Leigh set out to create a traditional-sounding song with epic production values and strong melodies. His idea included a music video set in 19th century England with snow-lined streets, lanterns, period costumes and snow-dusted rooftops. UK record companies would not fund such an ambitious idea as they did not consider it financially viable. So Leigh eventually decided to make it happen himself by employing session musicians to record the song and funding the music video with his life savings. Source: Wikipedia

OMG TODAY’S ST. NICHOLAS’ DAY! OMG The kids and I use to celebrate it when they were little. They’d put their shoes at the door and St. Nicholas would fill them with fruit, candy and one small toy! It was an old German custom that my gramma on my dad’s side would do for my brother and I! hehehehe~

Welcome to Music Moves Me and I hope you’ll participate, at least during the Christmas season. This is one of the nicest Christmas videos I’ve seen, with that 19th century vibe.
