Mondays Music Moves Me

Who are the Music Moves Me bloggers? They are bloggers who blog about music each Monday and if you have music to share, you are most welcome to join! (Music Posts Only-meaning at least one music video, please!)   First, there is Marie from XmasDolly.  Her co-hosts are: Stacy from Stacy Uncorked, Cathy from Curious as a Cathy, and Alana from Ramblin’ with AM.

We’d love more music lovers to join us.  It’s easy! All you have to do is add your link with a music post that contains at least one music video (there must be a music video).  And that’s it!

Each month, except December, we have a guest conductor. Today’s honorary co-hostess is Cathy of Curious as a Cathy and the theme is winter theme songs or band names relating to arctic animals, snow/snowmen, hibernation. Feel free to expand on the idea.

Snowman” is a song by Australian singer-songwriter Sia. It was released on 9 November 2017 as the first and only promo single from Sia’s eighth studio album and first Christmas album, Everyday Is Christmas. The song became popular in December 2020 following a TikTok challenge.

Sia performed “Snowman” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and on the finale of the fifteenth season of American reality TV series The Voice.

In December 2020, a challenge based around the song on video-sharing app TikTok saw a massive rise in popularity, becoming a trend. The challenge sees TikTok users attempt to sing a portion of the song, lasting forty seconds, in one breath. Following the popularity on TikTok, Sia released a ‘Snowed In & Slowed Down TikTok Remix’ of the track, which replicates the sound which users had been using on TikTok. This track was later featured on the album Everyday is Christmas Snowman Deluxe Edition released on November 5, 2021.

Saving the snowman and snow woman made me smile. It’s something a kind person would do. Love and hugs all around, a smooch to Marv and a big hug to you. 🙂

    Sandee,

I remember this song because I featured Sia’s “Everyday Is Christmas” album a few years back. I think I’d pass out if I tried singing for 40 seconds without taking a breathe. 😀 I liked reading the interesting tidbits. Thanks for sharing and for hitting the dance floor with the 4M gang, my dear friend. Have a boogietastic day! xx

we saw her on the Voice, have seen her several times on TV, she is a good singer. I have no idea how she sings those words so fast.

Makes me think of the children who try to keep their snowmen alive in the freezer. This song can bring some tears to my eyes. Very nice selection and thank you for joining us again this week!
